Kacey L. Phifer, 36, was driving a 2010 Buick Lacrosse southbound on Mississippi Highway 365 near Highway 30 about 7 a.m. when she apparently hit the rear of a stopped school bus, said Trooper Ray Hall, spokesman for the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

A child in Phifer’s vehicle received minor injuries, Hall said, and two children from the school bus were transported to North Mississippi Medical Center-Iuka with minor injuries. The operator of the bus and 18 other students on the bus were uninjured.

Phifer is a teacher at Tishomingo Elementary School, Hall said. The two-vehicle accident was investigated by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
