What led to a reported domestic dispute that left one man dead and another person in custody is still unknown.
The man killed in a Monday night dispute has been identified as Craig Mink, 46, of the Pratts community. Lee County Coroner Carolyn Gillentine-Green said the man was killed by a gunshot wound. The body has been sent to the state crime lab in Jackson for an autopsy.
Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said a call came in to 911 about 7 p.m. about possible shots being fired on County Road 1599 in the northern Lee County community.
When deputies arrived, they found one man dead. Johnson said Freddy Kennedy has been taken into custody by the sheriff’s department, but no formal charges have been filed. Kennedy is being called a person of interest at this time.
A handgun was recovered from the scene.
Johnson said the Pratts community is a quiet one and he rarely has any problems originating from the area.
Charges could come as early as today.
