TUPELO – For the first time in about four decades, Priscilla Presley journeyed to Tupelo and visited the home of her former husband.
That, of course, would be Elvis Presley. He and Priscilla visited here a handful of times in the 1960s and ’70s when they were married, before the Elvis Birthplace became what it is today. The facility recently underwent major renovations, and Priscilla was “blown away” by what she saw on her private tour Saturday afternoon.
Prior to the tour, Priscilla received a key to the city from Mayor Jason Shelton and was named an honorary citizen of Tupelo. She later spent a few minutes with local media talking about Tupelo, the birthplace and her visit here. And you can read more about the visit in Sunday’s Journal.
