TUPELO – There have been plenty of chilling images of the tornado that ravaged parts of Tupelo and Lee County on April 28. Now another view of the twister’s destructiveness has been made public.
St. Luke United Methodist Church, which lost its sanctuary in the storm, has released security camera footage of the tornado wreaking havoc on and around the church’s preschool playground. The most intense portion of the clip begins around the 1:45 mark.
The video was posted Tuesday night by Brad Bullock, St. Luke’s technical director. He said he was only recently able to get into the building and retrieve the video, and he added there is a lot of footage from other security cameras that he might post once he has consulted further with church staff.
