WCBI to return to air soon
COLUMBUS WCBI-TV, the CBS affiliate in Columbus, has been off the air for several days due to transmission line failure at the transmitter tower in Montpelier, Miss. Chief engineer Gary Savage says new transmission line had to be manufactured at a factory in Pennsylvania, then trucked to Mississippi. Crews are working around the clock to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
News director Jeffrey Roop apologized for the inconvenience. “We understand the frustration of viewers’ not being able to watch WCBI. We know they count on us, and we value that relationship,” he said. “It is frustrating for us as well, and we’re doing everything possible to get back on the air.”
