TUPELO – Donald “Donnie” Weaver of Okolona faces a second Lee County grand jury indictment charging him with sexual battery of a young boy.
Weaver, 49, pleaded not guilty last week to the charge. His bond was set at $75,000.
The indictment accuses him of having oral sex with an 8-year-old male from April through July of 2010. Weaver already faces a sexual battery charge accusing him of sexual battery of a minor from a January 2012 indictment.
He was accused of sexual battery of a young boy between June and August 2010, and his bond was set at $125,000. He was scheduled for trial Monday on that charge, but the trial was delayed after the second indictment.
In another case last week, Brandon Beckley of Tupelo pleaded guilty to culpable negligent manslaughter in the motor vehicular death of Paula Hester in Verona. Beckley, 23, was accused of leaving the scene of an accident in which Hester suffered fatal injuries.
Indicted in 2011, he was accused of conspiracy to commit possession of cocaine. He got 20 years in state prison, with 11 years suspended. He is serving a five-year sentence for a Pontotoc County conviction of residential burglary and larceny.
