Westboro to picket Ole Miss

By Parrish Alford/NEMS Daily Journal

Members of Westboro Baptist Church from Topeka, Kansas, will be at Ole Miss the morning of May 18 to demonstrate against idolatry.

A post on the church’s website compares the popularity of the 2009 Michael Oher movie, “The Blind Side,” to idol worship. From Church’s Website – “Another idol of Doomed USA is Ole Miss, your football idol, featured in movie, “The Blind Side.” Did we tell you, God hates your idols?! Shortly, God will cast down all the idols of this nation, and in that hour, you WILL get an understanding of The Blind Side – just before God drop kicks your rebellious, idolatrous back sides directly into hell! All the players will be there, and you can get up close and personal with them, as you curse each other FOR ETERNITY! That is a LONG time! ”

Ole Miss is one of five NCAA schools — joining Alabama from the SEC — to make the picket list.

Westboro will also protest at Graceland before coming to Oxford.
