TUPELO – The whistleblower employee who helped launch an investigation into the North Lee County Water Association now heads the organization.
Sonny Noble was named interim supervisor by the board Friday. He is the second person to take that job since longtime supervisor Dan Durham quit amid pressure Oct. 6.
Daniel Vaughan initially had been appointed to fill Durham’s slot. But board members decided this week to give the position to Noble based on his experience.
Noble has been with the association more than three years. Vaughan has been there a few months.
The board issued a statement Monday thanking Vaughan for his service during a difficult time. It said it will seek a permanent supervisor in an open application process later.
