Widows of veterans may qualify for benefit

Some widows of World War II veteran retirees may qualify for a benefit that would add almost $230 per month to their income.
The Annuity for Certain Military Surviving Spouses, called the “forgotten widows” benefit, is available to the surviving spouse of a retiree who died before being able to participate in the survivor benefit plan.
Survivors who believe they qualify should call the veterans service office for their county.
