JACKSON – The Mississippi Legislature is making its work day short because of the icy and snowy conditions that have engulfed the metro area – especially some of the bridges and overpasses on the area’s interstates.

The day will end after the House meets briefly at 2 p.m. this afternoon. The two chambers will re-convene at 2 p.m. Wednesday,

The delay comes during a busy week as legislators face a key Tuesday deadline to pass general bills out of committee in the chamber where they originated.
