Woman charged with accessory in connection to murder

VERONA – A woman has been charged with with accessory in connection to a Verona murder 15 months ago.

Jessica Burleson, 28, was charged with accessory after the fact of armed robbery and arraigned on Thursday. Bond was set at $50,000, and she is currently in Lee County Adult Jail.

The charge against Burleson came the day after police charged Nathaniel Whitfield with capital murder in the shooting death of Jeya “Jay” Suppiah, an apartment complex owner in Verona. The shooting occurred Nov. 30, 2012 at the Bailey Apartments on Raymond Avenue.
