World Series Game Two: Giants vs. Rangers

Series: Giants 1-0

Last night the Giants proved they can hit against one of the best pitchers in the majors. Behind 2-0 in the first two innings, they tied it in the 3rd and put up a six-spot in the fifth to send Cliff Lee to the showers. Freddy Sanchez went 4 for 5 and had 3 RBI’s while setting a post-season major league record of three doubles in one game. The Giants pounded out 14 hits for 11 runs to post a final score 11-7 over the AL Champions Texas Rangers. The Rangers didn’t go silently posting 11 hits and 7 runs. Both teams had a total of six errors, four for the Rangers and two for the G-men, not exactly a stellar performance defensively. Don’t expect the Rangers to lie down with the series only 1-0. They’ve come back from being down before. Just ask a Yankee.

Game two tonight features the Giant’s Matt Cain (13-11, 3.14 ERA) going against C.J. Wilson (15-8, 3.35 ERA) for the Rangers.
