Wrecks kill Mooreville man, injure Mantachie woman

MOOREVILLE – A man was killed and a woman critically injured in separate traffic accidents Tuesday morning.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol said the fatality occurred about 6:20 a.m. Steven B. Lyles, 26, of Mooreville was killed when his vehicle left the road on state Highway 371 near Mooreville and struck a tree.
Lyles was airlifted to the North Mississippi Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. He was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
In the other accident, on state Highway 363 near the Natchez Trace, Tracy Huguley 38, of Mantachie was critically injured when her car was struck from behind by an SUV, causing her to crash, the MHP said. Two passengers in the SUV were taken to the hospital and later released.
Huguley remained in critical condition Tuesday afternoon at NMMC.
Both accidents remain under investigation.
