Yokohama picks design firm for $300M West Point plant

Yokohama Tire Corp. has picked a design firm for its new $300 million commercial tire plant West Point plant.

Today, it announced it had selected Kajima Associates/Architects & Engineers of Atlanta to design the first phase of the facility, which will cover 931,000 square feet and include production, warehousing and operations.

Construction, expected to start later this summer, will be complete by October 2015. The plant, will employ 500 and produce up to 1 million tires a year.
