OKOLONA – As the end of a moratorium on placement of house trailers approaches on Feb. 1, the city planning commission is trying to devise new rules for trailers.
The board had no proposals to adopt new standards at last week’s meeting, but may extend the moratorium on trailers until they have “requirements for what is acceptable,” said Mayor Louise Cole.
Cole told the commission members that she would gather ordinances from other towns so they could examine them and devise new rules.
While the commission is still wrestling with the rules on trailers, the members did decide to recommend a zoning change that would allow a trailer park near the airport.
