FULTON – Nyla G. Benefield, 31, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012. She was born on Dec. 14, 1980, in Tupelo to Joe and Tammy Benefield. She was a waitress and attended the Orchard United Methodist Church in Tupelo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Senter Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Bryan Collier and Bro. Will Rambo officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery.
Survivors include her parents, Joe and Tammy Benefield of Fulton; sister, Anna Benefield of Oxford; brother, Joe Benefield (Amanda) of Fulton; grandparents, Willena Benefield of Fulton, and Earnest and Nobie Gunter of Tupelo; uncle, Wayne Gunter of North Dakota; aunt, Kathy Earheart (Billy) of Fulton; cousins, Will Earheart of South Carolina, Laura Moody (Nic) of Tupelo and Bailey Cate Moody
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Johnny Benefield.

Annie Conley
VERONA – Annie Helen Shaw Blanchard Conley died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at her home. She was born Feb. 7, 1956, to James Shaw Sr. and Mary Jane Shaw. She accepted Christ at an early age at Gibson Street Church of God in Eupora. She later joined Temple of Compassion and Deliverance, where she was a devoted member until her death. She was a Girl Scout leader for the Tupelo Housing Authority, mentoring teens for four years She worked with the Helping Hands Club, an organization located in Eupora and founded by her father to offer financial assistance to families in need. She was a foster mother for the past 14 years. She was briefly employed at the Tupelo Housing Authority and the Northside Boys and Girls Club. She was a Servsafe certificate holder which enabled her to cook at Temple of Compassion amp& Deliverance Parkhill Quickstop.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Temple of Compassion and Deliverance with Bishop C.L. Parks officiating. Burial will be in Porter’s Memorial Cemetery. N.L. Jones Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Jane Shaw Quinn (Zebedee) of Maben; her grandmother, Lillie Mae Eiland of Louisville; one daughter, Shalunda Shunta Shaw Hoskins of Tupelo; six sons, Demetrius Andrae (Dondreia) Blanchard, Demond Arnez (Taisha) Blanchard, Phillip “Peter” Gunn, Louis Vontrell Conley, Lorenzo Keith Conley (special friend, Brianna Smith), and Jamal Thomas Conley, all of Tupelo; one brother, James Arthur Shaw Jr. (fiancampée, Bobbie) of Eupora; one sister, Mary Anne Shaw Pryor of Tupelo; two sisters-in-law, Leslie Powers Shaw of Tupelo and Darlene Powers of Starkville; 12 grandchildren, one great-granddaugther, one niece, four nephews, three great-nieces and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Rodney Nelson Shaw; a brother-in-law, Rodney Nelson Shaw; and a niece Tonya Regina Jones.

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. – Michael R. Wheeler, 61, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at his residence. He was formerly of Golden. He was a graduate of Belmont High School. He was a computer programmer and analyst for 25 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Red Bay, Ala., and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Buster Timmons, Greg Pharr and Bro. Roger Wood officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Red Bay. Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Debra Fancher Wheeler of Collierville, Tenn.; two sisters, Barbara Hammock (Larry) and Linda Hampton (John), all of Golden; his mother-in-law, Betty Fancher of Red Bay, Ala.; sisters-in-law, Brenda Keeton of Red Bay and Pansy Hall (Randy) Collierville, Tenn.; four nephews, Todd Hammock, Terry Hammock, Brock Keeton and Mark Carnes; five nieces, Misty Hampton, Brooke Carnes, Briana Keeton, Katie Hall and Ally Hall; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cason Creel Wheeler and Ruby Catherine Childers Wheeler; a sister, Catherine Wheeler; his father-in-law, Robert Fancher; and brother-in-law, Michael Fancher.

Martha Jones-Johnson
BELZONI – Martha Jones-Johnson, 102, died Monday, June 4, 2012. She was born April 7, 1910, in Belzoni to Charlie and Ida Jones. She married Charlie Johnson at an early age. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Green Grove M.B. Church. After moving to Pontotoc County with her daughter, she joined New Resident M.B. Church. She enjoyed quilting, working in her garden, and eating fish and angel food cake. She will never be forgotten.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Green Grove M.B. Church in Belzoni with the Rev. Morris Allen officiating. Delta Burial Corporation is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three sons, Dewitt (Shirley) Johnson and Cornelius Johnson of Chicago, and Charlie (Sandra) Johnson of Gary, Ind.; three daughters, Ruthie Lott and Lola Garner of Chicago, and Vera Green of Tupelo; two special friends, Sammie Lee Martin and Ruby Aaron; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, George Johnson; and two daughters: Doretha Lee and Johnanna Milton.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today with family hour from 6 to 8 p.m.

Hazel Radach
NEW ALBANY – Hazel Marlene Mason Radach, 75, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, after a long illness. She was born Oct. 1, 1936, in Ashland to Cyrus Lee and Annie Mae Kimery Mason. She married Raymond William Radach on Nov. 24, 1956. She was a Baptist and a lifelong member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Hickory Flat. As a military spouse, she had the responsibility of raising five children during her husband’s many military deployments. Throughout her life, she traveled to nearly all corners of America. She lived in many locations including Beeville, Texas, San Diego, Calif., Sitka, Alaska, Virginia Beach, Va., Meridian, Hickory Flat, and Arlington, Texas, finally settling in New Albany.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ashland Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters, Diane Mason Radach of New Albany, who was her caregiver during her illness, Lisa Ann Radach Culver (Michael) of Arlington, Texas, Brenda Darlene Radach Rossetti (Donnie) of New Albany; sons, Terry Lee Radach (Billie) of Tacoma, Wash., and Bill Radach of New Albany; granddaughters, Patricia Carol Brock Crum (Jason), Ally RaeAnn Culver and Jenna Kaur Radach; grandsons, Raymond Eugene Radach, Jason Hardev Radach (Jennifer), Joseph Raymond Rossetti, Samuel Donald Rossetti; brother, Audrey Dale “Buddy” Mason; great-grandchildren, Aiden Radach, Neveh Radach and Amiela Radach.
She was preceded in death by her husband, retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Raymond William Radach; and brothers, Cyrus Lee Mason Jr. and Jimmy Arlene Mason.

Harris Phillips
NEW ALBANY – Harris James Phillips, 2, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis. He was born April 4, 2010, in Tupelo to Dewayne and Laurie Peters Phillips. He attended Belden Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing with his brothers and sister and his friends at church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Belden Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Holcomb officiating and Kevin Tate delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, Dewayne and Laurie Phillips of New Albany; his sister and brothers, Marlee Phillips, Carter Phillips, Aaron Phillips, Marcus Phillips and Pearce Phillips, all of the home; his grandparents, David and Janet Phillips of New Albany, and Terry and LaRue Peters of Tupelo; his great-grandmother, Sue Gregory of Tupelo; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be William Farrar, Tim Baulo, Ron Crump, Justin Lohmeier, David Cady and Adam Archer. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Belden Baptist Church.

GUNTOWN – Billy Dale Myhand, 55, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at his home. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed fishing and watching television. He stayed to himself.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Bro. Sammie Scott officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by a sister, Virginia Faye Myhand Lewis of Guntown; three brothers, Edward Myhand (Billie) of Baldwyn, Jackie Myhand (Vickie) of Alpine and Ricky Myhand (Keely) of Guntown; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Malone Myhand.
Pallbearers will be Matt Bishop, Scott Roberts, Larance Buse, Chris Gilmore, Jerry Malone and Daniel Lewis.

BLUE SPRINGS – Benjamin Boone Adams, infant son of Jonathan and Libby Adams of Blue Springs, died Saturday, June 2, 2012, at The Med in Memphis. He was born June 2, 2012, in Memphis.
Graveside services was held Thursday, June 7, at Fairfield Presbyterian Cemetery in Blue Springs. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, Jonathan and Mary Elizabeth Boone Adams of Blue Springs; his grandparents, John and Nancy Boone of Holly Springs; and a sister, Laura Adams of Blue Springs.

Ruthy Long
TUPELO – Ruthy Pearl Gardner Long died Monday, June 4, 2012, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born Aug. 15, 1957, to Francis and Earlie Gardner. She attended Carver High School. She was a former employee of Walmart Supercenter in Tupelo. She was the first lady of Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher, She was a faithful member who served the Lord with all her heart. She touched the lives of many, young and old, as a loving, caring, honest, loyal, strong woman of God.
A life celebration service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Tupelo with the Rev. Gary Long Sr. officiating and the Rev. Joseph Long as eulogist. Interment will follow at the Lee Memorial Park. Grayson-Porter’s Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, the Rev. Gary Long Sr. of Tupelo; two sons, Gary Long Jr. and Joseph Long; three daughters, Vanessa Long, Martina Long and Cynthia Long; her mother-in-law; Elnora Long; sisters, Edna (Sammy) Gray, Claudia Howard, Deloise Hamilton, Earlie (Odis) Johnson, Jannie Martin, Mary Perkins, Esceruinzeta (Rufus) Lauderdale and Gretter Perkins, all of Tupelo, Yvonne McCary of Chicago and Shirley Sanders of Ripley, Tenn.; five brothers, Earlie Gardner Jr. of Southvaven, Ben Gardner, James Garmon, Neal Garmon, John Garmon and John (Annie) Perkins, all of Tupelo; her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Long of Tupelo; 10 grandchildren; two aunts, Frances Pegues of Pontotoc and Fannie Webb of Beloit, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jimmy Carr and Frank Gardner; and her father-in-law, Hazel Long Sr.
