CHESTERVILLE – Johnny C. Kelly, 59, went Home, after a short illness, on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, while at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was born Nov. 5, 1952 in Tupelo to Gene and Jewel Kelly. In 1971, he graduated from Belden High School. He was a loving husband and devoted father to his children. He was the owner of JCK Construction. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting, dirt track racing and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was also gifted with a special ability to see the potential in houses that he renovated as well as the potential in those people he loved. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. Prior to this, he was a member of and served as a deacon at Bissell Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Jefferson Street Chapel with the Rev. Steven Quarles and Dr. Rickey Blythe officiating. Burial will be in Chesterville Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, JoAnn Kelly; three children, Joy Chunn (Gary), Johnny Kelly II (Heather), and Jeremy Kelly (Whitney); six adopted children, Deanna Cobb, Tim Bell (Tessa), Michael Long (Taylor), Brent Carnathan (Abby), Steven Hall (Terri), Brooke Ellis (Wade); seven grandchildren, Taylor, Kara, Caity and Johnny Kelly III and Logan, Cameron and Ayden Chunn; one sister, Susan Baughman (Jerry); one sister-in-law, Linda Kelly; two nieces; three nephews; two aunts, Lillie Carr (C.M.) and Ann Crane (Nunan).
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Robert Kelly; and one sister, Gloria Kelly.
Pallbearers will be Tim Bell, Michael Long, Randy Towery, Dan Crane, Steven Hall, Brent Carnathan, Justin Kelly, Dave Russell, Jerel Baughman and Brian Baughman. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Crane, Randle Towery, Ken Dillard, Mike Larson, Donny Kelly, Allen Simmons, Robert Suddeth, James “Pop” Fancher and Don Alexander.
It was his greatest wish that those he knew and loved would join him in Heaven.

MIAMI, Fla. – Joseph Joe Bristow, 81, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012. He was born on Dec. 16, 1930.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at Kendall United Methodist Church in Miami, Fla. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Glenwood Cemetery at the corner of Green and Jackson St. in Tupelo. Visitation will follow at the gravesite. Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel is handling local arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sally Ann Allee Bristow of Miami; his daughter, Susan Gardner (Rob) of Tupelo; his son, Clifton Bristow (Lisa) of New Albany; and four grandchildren, Jason Gardner, Ashley Gillespie (Daniel), Paula Bristow and Dylan Bristow.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Leigh Ann Honeycutt.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Pennington of Houston; two sons, Jamie Dodson of Memphis, Tenn., and Stevie Dodson of Houston; one brother Ray McAnally of Woodland; a half-brother, Roy Dulaney of Houston; a half-sister, Bernice Smith of Houston; four granddaughters, Tiffany Nichols, Amy Nichols, Kayla Fisher and Haley Wolfe; the father of her children, James Dodson; and a special friend, John Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bernice McAnally; a son, Danny Dodson; a brother, James amp”Sonamp” McAnally; two half-brothers, Frank Dulaney and Charles Dulaney; and a half-sister, Elaine Dulaney Knox.

GUNTOWN – Tommy Patterson, 61, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at his residence in the Ellistown Community. He was a former employee of Luck Star Industries and Bahaus MGF. He was a Baptist and enjoyed fishing, rock hunting and spending time with family.
