Winfred Gardner
BOONEVILLE – Winfred Alice Gardner, 95, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born Nov. 2, 1917, in the Kirkville Community to William Franklin McCostlin and Cletra Walker McCostlin. She was a factory worker at Blue Bell and Prentiss Manufacturing, and a Home Demonstration agent’s assistant. She was a member of East Booneville Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, especially the Banner Independent and the Prentiss County Progress, growing vegetables and flowers, cooking for her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ricky Kelly and Bro. Garry Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Michael Gardner of Booneville; a daughter, Carolyn Bolen (Kimble) of Corinth; three grandchildren, Jason Bolen (Shannon) of Rienzi, Kimble David Bolen (Misti) of Little Rock, Ark., and Kimberly South of Booneville; four great-grandchildren, Jaley Dawn Bolen of Rienzi, Caroline Grace South, Nicholas Alexander South and Hannah Nicole South, all of Booneville.
She was preceded in death by husband, John Kelly Gardner, in 1984; her parents; and a sister, Edith McNeece.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Joe Edd Cooper
CUMBERLAND – Joe Edd Cooper, 69, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at his residence. He was a retired construction repairman with B&W Mfg. He was a member of the Cumberland Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and church treasurer.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at the Cumberland Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Old Cumberland Cemetery. Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Davis Cooper of Cumberland; a daughter, Johnnie Sue (Chamath) Wijewardane of Starkville; and two brothers, Loyd (Jimmie) Cooper and Mike Cooper, both of Cumberland.
Beverly Pugh
AMORY – Beverly Belle Pugh, 58, died on Friday, April 12, 2013, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on Dec. 11, 1954, in Ypsilanti, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Jessie Willard “J. W.” and Maxine Lee Pugh. She attended Amory schools and graduated from Hatley High School, Class of 1972. Having worked in the steel mill industry and as a cutter in the local furniture industry, she worked at Short Street in Nettleton. She was Baptist. Energetic, hard-working, independent and always putting others first, she enjoyed her family, gardening, antiquing, and old rock music.
She is survived by her daughters, Amanda Oliver (Lee) and Emily Harlow of Amory; sisters, Karol Conwill of New Albany, Nina Whitlock of Aberdeen, Charlotte Culver and Laura Howard of Amory; grandchildren, Bella and Jesse Oliver, and Braydon Bynum; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Pugh.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Haughton Memorial Park with Bro. Kevin Crook officiating. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Keith, Mark and Danny Parham; Robert and Joseph Conwill; Cory Cox; and Brandon Bynum.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Everyone is asked to meet at 10:40 a.m. Monday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

BOONEVILLE – Sgt. 1st Class William C. Warren, 58, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rueben Chapel CME Church. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Corinth. Patterson Memorial Chapel of Corinth is in charge of the arrangements.

ETTA – Renea Kiser, 58, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel.

Kathleen McNutt
BLUE SPRINGS – Clara Kathleen “Ms. Kat” McNutt 99, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Griffis House of the Green Houses in Tupelo. She was the oldest member of the Antioch Church of Christ. She was a former employee of Playcraft and retired from Blue Bell Mfg. She enjoyed crocheting and stringing necklaces.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Gorden Gentry, Ferrell Hester, Clyde Mize and Darrell Beard officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Merrill Scott; a grandson, Lane Scott; a sister-in-law, Ruby Driscoll McNutt; and generations of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Woodrow McNutt, whom she married Aug. 20, 1932; a son-in-law, Billy Joe Scott; her parents, Thomas Jackson White and Susan Thompson White; 11 siblings, Lois Adair, Lester Laurens. Leonard White, Maude DeVaughn, Cecil White, Dorsey White, Lottie Deaton, Bernice Parham, Eva White, Elise Rackley and Charlye Newman.
Pallbearers will be Larry Gentry, Bobby Campbell, Jimmy Campbell, Bill Gibson, Jimmy Hitt, Randy Hitt, Pat Hitt and Larry Malone.
Honorary pallbearers will be her long tern caregivers at Griffis House, Kiesha, Jessica, Chelsea, Tina, Mary, Jody, Meme and Evelyn; and the staff of Sanctuary Hospice.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time today.
The family requests memorials be made to The Traceway Manor activities fund and Sanctuary Hospice.

Murrell Harville
TUPELO – Murrell Harville, 84, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at his residence. He was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Lee County to Edd and Ovie Harville. He was a member of Palmetto Baptist Church. He retired after 28 years of service at Krueger International. He was an avid fisherman, loved people and never met a stranger.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at White Zion Cemetery in the Furrs community with Bro. Jimmy Webb officiating. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Betty Jo Harville of Tupelo; children, Danny Harville (Ann) of Troy, Linda Russell (Freddie) of Tupelo, Randy Harville (Rhonda) of Tupelo and Ricky Harville of Pontotoc; grandchildren, Freddie D’Ray Russell (Pam), Wendy Russell, Blake Russell (Nicole), Lisa Davis (Michael), Ashley Harville, Cody Harville (Kayla), Heather Harville, Tom Harville, D.J. Harville and Amanda Harville; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Erline Witcher of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Harville; his parents, Edd and Ovie Harville; sister, Martha Dale Warren; and brother, Charles Harville.
Pallbearers will be Randy, Ricky, Danny, Cody, Tom and Mike Harville and Freddie and Freddie D’Ray Russell.

HICKORY FLAT – J.M. Byers, 85, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at his residence. He was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Union County to Joseph Judson Byers and Minnie Ausburn Byers. He was a retired employee of Futorian Manufacturing, where he worked in maintenance. He was a Baptist.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the United Funeral Service Chapel in New Albany with the Rev. Donnie Schuman officiating. Burial will be in the Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Cladis Kiddy Byers; two daughters, Paula Creighton (Wesley) and Barbara Byers; two sisters, Dalphine Churchill and Martha “Tiny” Algee; a half sister, Mary Leath (Malcolm); a brother, J.A. Byers (Sarah); and two grandchildren, Amy Creighton and Jason Liddell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lacy Foster
CORINTH – Lacy Page Foster, 18 months, went to be with Jesus on Friday, April 5, 2013, at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. She was born Oct. 3, 2011, to Raquel Morgan and Adam Foster.
A Gathering of Remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Home in Corinth with Bro. Mickey Trammell officiating.
Along with her parents, she is survived by a sister, Scarlett Foster; grandparents, Tammy and Tony Morgan of Corinth and Vera McGee of Ripley; great-grandparents and one great-great-grandfather; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Joseph Kirby Foster Jr.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
