SPRINGDALE – James Ellis Sugg, 70, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.

Era Raines
NEW ALBANY – Era Lee Raines, 96, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Baptist Hospital in Southaven. A retired sales clerk until 1957 for Morgan Lindsey. She was the widow of Fate Raines.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located at 5599 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119.
She is survived by her only son Alan (Nettie) Raines; grandchildren, Cathy Hutto, James and Christopher Raines; and great-grandchildren, Alanna Littles and Conner Hutto.
The family will receive guests 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

OXFORD – Elizabeth Sinexon Griffin Williston, 93, died Saturday, April, 13, 2013, in Oxford.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until noon in Parish Hall.

Harold McMinn
TUPELO – Harold Franklin McMinn, 76, died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at his home. He was born Nov. 15, 1936, in Weir, to Charles Preston and Ethel Nason McMinn. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17 and served for more than 20 years as a jet engine mechanic and instructor. He was stationed in North Africa, Vietnam and Thailand before retiring in 1973. He had lived in Texas for many years before returning home to Mississippi in 2005. He attended Tupelo Church of God. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and tinkering in his shop.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Laman and Bro. Jack Ezell officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include his children, Shirley Gail Collier of Eupora and Gene Franklin McMinn of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Nathan Collier of Eupora and Kelsey Smith of Birmingham, Ala.; his sweetheart and companion, Patricia Ranguette of Myrtle; three sisters, Allie Busby of Ackerman, Dean Coker of San Antonio, Texas, and Peggy Ann Ming (Glennis) of Ackerman; two brothers, William Boyce McMinn (Carol) of Ackerman and Joe Crumption McMinn (Melva) of San Antonio, Texas; a special caregiver, Michelle Sparks of Tupelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gladys Lorene McMinn and Janie Ashworth; and three brothers, Charles McMinn (Junnie), Jimmie Boyd McMinn and Carl Purvis McMinn.
Pallbearers will be the Columbus Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today.

Mark “Bear” Stanford
FULTON – Phillip Mark “Bear” Stanford, 52, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013, at his residence. He was born Oct. 14, 1960, to William J. Stanford and Judy Lackey Stanford. He worked for Kline Heating and Cooling as a service technician for many years. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Service is at 2 p.m. today at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Jay Hatcher, Bro. Bobby Jarrell and Bro. Loyd Minor officiating. Burial is at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Senter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Stanford of Fulton; parents, William J. and Judy Stanford of Fulton; son, Jonathan (Jan Wasilewski) Stanford of Fulton; daughter, Jenny (Armando) Garza of Fulton; brother, Steve (Carolyn) Stanford of Red Bay, Ala.; sister-in-law, Sandra Stanford of Fulton; and three granddaughters, Jessica Beasley, Sabrina Beasley and, Shannon Beasley, all of Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Stanford; and grandparents, Trannie and Minnie Stanford, Walter and Lois Lackey.
Pallbearers are Mike Steele, Chuck Steele, Billy Johnson, Cory Krause, David Shields, Jeff Johnson, Roger Timms and Jerry Wayne Spencer. Honorary pallbearers are Todd Krause, Rodney Sullivan and all of his fishing and hunting buddies.
Visitation is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Kenneth “Kozmo” Ramsey
WEST POINT – Kenneth Allen “Kozmo” Ramsey, 60, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center, in West Point. He was born Jan. 20, 1953, in West Point, to Juanita Dew Ramsey and the late Thomas Allen Ramsey Jr. He was fondly known as “Kozmo” and was a radio “DeeJay” and ad production engineer for WROB and later Cumulus Broadcasting for 40 years. His passion was music and his vocals fronted several groundbreaking bands in the area such as the Southern Soul, the Stoned Procession, Snake Doctor and the infamous Thirsty Moon at the Southernaire Club and High Cotton Club in Columbus and then Collage and Air Freight. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his father, his grandparents, Thomas A. Sr. and Ethel Edwards Ramsey and John Benjamin and Estelle Boutwell Dew, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. James Towery officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery West Point.
Survivors include his mother, Juanita Dew Ramsey; and one brother, Richard Ramsey (Amber), all of West Point.
Pallbearers will be Robert McGlohn, Danny Bailey, Jeff Dew, Ed Rice, Roger Pryor, Greg Benefield and Scotty Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Taylor, Max Gardner, Howard “Bud” Bowen, all the former co-workers in Radio and the many band mates that he enjoyed sharing the stage and performances with over the years.
Visitation is 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvert Funeral Home.

HOUSTON – Chandra Paulette “Sandy” Thomas Alford, 61, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Dec. 9, 1951, in Vardaman to Charles Richard Thomas and Colleen Moore Thomas. She was a retired cutter for Franklin Mfg. Co. She was a member of Rhodes Chapel Church.
Services were at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Rhodes Chapel Church with the Rev. Jane Houser officiating. Burial followed at Rhodes Chapel Cemetery in Houston. Houston Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Donnie Alford of Houston; her son, Donnie Wayne Alford and Carol Sexton of Houston; her sisters, Cynthia Moore, Carol Cullpepper and Cheryl Davis, all of Okolona; her brother, Clifton Neal “Bug” Thomas of Okolona; and grandchildren, Claire Marie Alford and Rish Alford, and their mother, Anna Rish Alford.
Pallbearers are Jerritt Alford, Jody Alford, Jimmy Alford, Darrell Crawford, Brian Wooten, John Robert Harmon and Rish Alford.

SALTILLO – Gage Hamilton Fidram, 17, Saltillo High School Junior, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, in Lee County as the result of a motor vehicle accident.
