Jerry Golding
FURRS – Jerry Golding, 51, died Monday, April 15, 2013, at his home in the Furrs community. He was born Oct. 18, 1961, in Tupelo. He was a member of Furrs Baptist Church and a truck driver most of his life. An avid Ole Miss fan, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will be most remembered for his loud, booming laughter and big smile. He loved his family and friends and never met a stranger.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Furrs Baptist Church. Bro. Steve Cohea will officiate. Burial will follow in the White Zion Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his mother, Ocie Lorene Akens Golding, and his father, Charles M. “Buddy” Golding; two sisters, Teresa Golding and Shelia Ratliff (Bart); and a nephew, B.J. Ratliff.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Nannie V. Golding, and Ollie and Minnie Akens.
Pallbearers will be Randy Todd, Brent Todd, Johnny Keith, Robbie Moss, Carrie McMullen and Jeff Short.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. to service time today.

Rayford Seahorn
RED BAY, Ala. – James Rayford Seahorn, 54, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was born April 20, 1958, in Alabama, and was a salesperson for 30 years. He was a past member of the Red Bay City Council, a member of Pilot Hill Baptist Church and a Mason in Burleson Lodge No. 143 in Red Bay.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Red Bay, with Bro. A.H. Akins officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are two children, Ryan Seahorn and Jordan Seahorn (Melissa), all of Red Bay; one grandchild, Gunner Seahorn; his mother, Jeraldine Seahorn, Red Bay; one brother, Keith Seahorn (Sarah), Red Bay; two sisters, Donna Malone (Tim), Glade Springs, Va., and Dianna McCollum (David), Lancaster, Calif.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Seahorn; a brother, Randy Seahorn; and a sister-in-law, Jo Ann Seahorn.
Pallbearers will be Adam Seahorn, Brian Seahorn, Chris Seahorn, Ricky Donald, Kyle Palmer and Clint Holcombe.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
Sherrie Manning
NASSAU, Bahamas – Sherrie Owen Manning, 58, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at her residence in Nassau, Bahamas, after a long illness. She was born Dec. 22, 1954, in New Albany to Jimmy Brown and Betty Garrett Sneed and lived in Ecru and Pontotoc for many years. She was first married to Jim Owen of Pontotoc. She operated her own film production company in Memphis before moving to the Bahamas to become the manager of the world famous Compass Point Recording Studios, a post she held for over 20 years.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with the Rev. Buster Wilson officiating. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Manning of Nassau; her father, Jimmy Brown of Manchester, Tenn.; a brother, Alvin Brown; her sons, Lucas Manning of Edinburgh, Scotland, and Cory Owen of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law, Kacey Owen; a stepson, Michael Manning of Memphis; two grandchildren, Noah-Pogue and Cooper Owen of Nashville; and her stepfather, Bill Sneed of Ecru.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Garrett Sneed.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

William F. Boone III
MANCHESTER, N.H. – William F. “Thad” Boone died Friday, Feb. 25, 1994, at Eliot Hospital. He was born in Pottstown, Pa., to William F. “Bill” Boone and Marianne Wright Boone. He worked as a self-employed cabinet maker.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Pontotoc City Cemetery with Father Gerald Peterson officiating. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his father, William F. “Bill” Boone Jr. of Ocala, Fla., a native of Pontotoc; a sister, Phoebe Boone Demers (Roger) of Ocala, Fla.; and a niece, Lindsey M. Schneider (Eli) of Sharon, Mass.

Emma Fulgham Nickels
MERIDIAN – Emma Lou Fulgham Nickels, 88, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Rush Specialty Hospital in Meridian. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora. Burial will follow in Double Springs Methodist Cemetery in Oktibbeha County.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Viola Doss Easley
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Viola Maurine Doss Easley, 91, died Monday, April 15, 2013, at her residence. Formerly of Calhoun County, she was retired from Memphis City School System.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with Chaplain Sandy Long and Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Collums Cemetery in Bruce.
Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Kay Whitsell of Gulfport, Amelia D. Witzleb of Memphis, and Mary Easley of Newport News, Va.; five sisters, Clytee Christian of Houlka, Nell Rives of Mable Hill, Mo., Mae Una Arthur of Houlka, Anita Bratton of Denison, Texas and Lucy Doss of Inverness, Fla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Baxter L. Doss and Rose Elma Purvis Doss; two sons, John D. Easley and Dwight L. Easley; four brothers, Van Davis Doss, J.C. Doss, Wilburn Doss and John Doss; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Easley.
Visitation will be noon until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Lenora Garling
NEW ALBANY – Lenora Owen Garling, 90, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at her residence. She was born May 29, 1922, in Union County to William Dan and Jennie Miller Owen. She retired from A.C.B. after 35 years. She was a member of Glenfield Methodist Church in New Albany.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Brownie Tohill officiating. Burial will be in New Albany City Cemetery. United Funeral Service of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by a daughter, Nona J. Vance, and a son, John Garling Jr., both of New Albany; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John W. Garling Sr.; and her brothers and sisters.

SOUTHAVEN – Elvis Delane “Bud” Dotson, 79, died Monday, April 15, 2013, at Baptist Desoto in Southaven. He was born July 5, 1933, to Elvis and Nora Dotson. He was a Baptist and a painter.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Southern Funeral Chapel in Houston with Bro. Johnny Cherry officiating. Burial will be in Ellzey Cemetery in Vardaman. Southern Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his children, Ronald Dotson of Memphis, Barbara Rowland (Bobby) of Memphis, Sharon Dotson of Memphis, and Mark Sappington of Myrtle; one brother, Gerald Dotson (Marilyn) of Reagan, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his caregiver, Melinda Clayton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Dotson; two children, James Dotson and Judy Hardin; three sisters, Ella Mae York, Olene Montgomery and Sarah Bevill; and four brothers, Charles Dotson, Quitman Dotson, Butch Dotson, and Sonny Dotson

OCALA, Fla. – Marianne Wright Boone died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at her residence. She was born in Trenton, N.J., on June 2, 1935, to Joseph M. Wright and Praxeta M. Wright. She was a retired educator.

Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Northside Christian Church at 158 Cottrell St., in West Point with the Rev. Orlando R. Richmond officiating. The Rev. Gene King will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Berry Davis
BOONEVILLE – Berry Neal Davis, 71, died Monday, April 15, 2013, at his home. He was born March 2, 1942, to L.B. and Louise Alston Davis. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was an avid collector.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tony Brown officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
He is survived by one daughter, Donya Davis of Baytown, Texas; one stepson, Anthony Morrell of Pachuta, Miss.; one sister, Ann (Roy) Hamilton of Daphne, Ala.; one brother, Raymond T. Davis; three grandchildren; and his caregiver, Jennifer Breedlove.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Henry Davis; his parents; and a brother, J.W. “Tim” Davis.
