Ann Grady Jackson
JACKSON – On April 18, 2012, Ann Graddy Jackson passed away peacefully at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Mrs. Jackson was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Ecru to Sumner Austin Graddy and Elizabeth Johnson Graddy. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Blue Mountain College and later the Master of Education from the University of Mississippi. A beloved teacher for thirty years in the Columbus and Ecru school systems, she was married to the late William Haskell Jackson of Columbus in 1988, living until 2005 when she relocated to Brandon. A devoted member of Pinelake Baptist Church in Brandon, she looked forward to attending service each Sunday.
She was eagerly awaited in heaven by her parents and her husband. Survivors include her three children, Carol Ann (Denny) Gray of D’Iberville, Gary Richardson of Brandon and Danny (Cindy) Richardson of Brandon. She is also survived by her siblings, Dale Erwin Graddy of Collierville, Tenn., Helen Graddy Thomas of Emporia, Kan., and Fann Graddy Bost of Amory. She was “Mom-Mom” to none grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and “Nantie” to 40 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 9 a.m., and the celebration of her homegoing at 11 a.m., followed by interment at the Ecru Cemetery. Rev. Doug Cooper is officiating. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Bost, Stuart Mackenzie, Jimmy Humphrey, Jeff Conner, Morgan Stewart and Nat Grubbs.

TUPELO – Tommy Robertson died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the Greenhouses.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the home of Ricky and Cindy Robertson, 5125 Water Ridge Drive, Tupelo, MS.

Ethel Sykes
TUPELO – Ethel Louise Sykes, 65, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc.

Sheena Parks
BOLIVAR, Tenn. – Sheena N. Parks, 31, died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Bolivar General Hospital. She was born Jan. 5, 1981, to D.L. Johnson and Jimmie Dale Johnson in Tippah County. She worked at McDonald’s and Bodega’s Pizza. She was a member of Power House Church and later joined Coleman Temple Church.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Moses Chapel U.M. Church with Pastor Terry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Boyd Cemetery. Foster and Son Funeral Home in Ripley is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, whom she married Feb. 3, 2006, Joseph Lee Parks; one daughter, Amandria Nicole Johnson; one son, Marquese Octavion Johnson, all of Bolivar; her parents; her sisters, Lisa (Bruce) Williams of Ashland, Sharon (Ira) Muhammad of Holly Springs, Michelle (James) Hudson, Glenda (James) Godwin and Lydia Viola (Roy Dale) Storey, all of Ripley; two brothers, Timothy (Jackie) Johnson of Ripley and Tommy Joe (Christine) Johnson of Ripley; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Ann Johnson and Jackie Johnson; two uncles, General Johnson and Hearly Glenn; three aunts, Maybell Glenn, M. Johnson and May Joyce Rucker; her father-in-law, J.W. Parks, and her mother-in-law, Betty Jean Parks.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Lee Johnson.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, with family hour from 6 to 8 p.m. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services on Sunday.

Lena Mae Hickman
TUPELO – Lena Mae Hickman, 91, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Cedar Nursing Home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Grayson-Porter’s Mortuary.

Thelma Ray
MYRTLE – Thelma Jean Rose Ray, 59, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at her home. She was born May 5, 1952, to Howard William Sr.,and Clara Olene Spears Rose in Blue Moutain. She was a member of Old Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Flat Rock Cemetery in Hickory Flat with Bro. Bobby Butler officiating. McBride Funeral Home of Ripley is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Kala Cantero (Hector) of Blue Springs and Patricia Jordan (Garry) of Tupelo; one son, Michael Ray (Joy) of Ashland; one sister, Lisa Smith of Blue Springs; one sister-in-law, Dianne Rose of Myrtle; and seven grandchildren, Joshua, Patrick, Adrian and Angell Cantero; Rueben and Owen Ray and Cody Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Patricia Charlene Mauk; and two brothers, Howard Rose Jr. and Larry Randle Mauk.
Pallbearers will be Hector Cantero, David Smith, Tanner Letson, Michael Ray, Rueben Ray, Garry Jordan and Johnny Hale Jr.

Willie Mae DeBerry
HOLLY SPRINGS – Willie Mae McEwen DeBerry, 94, died Monday, April 16, 2012, in Memphis.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Anderson Chapel C.M.E. Church in Holly Springs with Rev. Mayor Andre DeBerry officiating. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today, with family and friend hour from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

HOLLY SPRINGS – Chrestora Martin Hawk, 83, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at her home in Holly Springs.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Valley M.B. Church in Byhalia. Burial is in Street Hill Cemetery in Chulahoma. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Karen Grantham
IUKA – Karen Grantham, 50, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Burial will be in Shady Valley Cemetery in Tremont.

Ardania Weaver
TUPELO – Ardania B.Weaver, 85, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Lee County native and lifelong resident, she was born Oct. 13, 1926, to Olaf Leonard and Martha Ann Herring Bishop. She was a graduate of Mooreville High School. She worked as a seamstress for Blue Bell Manufacturing and Mantanchie Manufacturing, retiring from Sheller-Globe. She enjoyed working in her yard and doing wood work. She also loved raising goats and cats. She was a member of Boguefala Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Jimmy Webb and Larry Betts officiating. Burial will be in Eggville Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Robert Wayne Weaver; one son, Truitt Wayne Weaver (Sandra), all of the Eggville community; one daughter, Tina Betts (Larry) of Tupelo; one grandson, Todd Weaver (Ashley) of Pontotoc; one great-grandson, Weston Wayne Weaver; two step great-grandchildren, Chad Kilgo of Saltillo and Shea Lawson of Nettleton; her foster grandson, Craig Robinson (Teri) of Brownsville, Tenn., and their sons, Grayson, Jackson and Eason; two foster granddaughters, Denise Randleman (David) and their children, Daniel, Seth and Carrie of Lexington, N.C., and Becky Robinson; her sister-in-law, Mae Bishop of Tupelo; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friend, Donald Earl Price of the Eggville community.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Revy, Tulus, Cecil, Noble, Tracy and Roswell Bishop; three sisters, Bulah Loyd, Hyacinth (Sally) Thompson and Virginia Murphy.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Donnala Gann
HOUSTON – Donnala Dean Gann, 69, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012. She was born Nov. 29, 1942, in Gillette, Wyo., to Donald Woodrow Bennick and Helen Loraine Cates-Bennick.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Macedonia Methodist Church Cemetery with Bro. Randy Rinehart officiating. Memorial Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her two sisters, Judith Rae Bennick of Baltimore, Md., and Carla Jeanne Benick-Norris of Lander, Wyo.; one brother, Gordon Bruce Bennick of Houston, Texas; and two nephews, Braddly Bennick of Palm Springs, Calif., and Brett Bennick of Torrington, Wyo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William David Gann; and her parents.

Eddie Brown
WEST POINT – Eddie James Brown, 63, died Sunday, April 15, 2012.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Poole’s Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. M.D. Price officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Carter’s Mortuary Services in West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel.

Roye Green
BILOXI – Roye Green, 84, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Emeritus Assisted Living Center in Biloxi. He was born April 1, 1927, in Tibbee to Iona Bonds Green and Alexander Stewart Green. He was a retired vice president of construction/maintenance and engineering at Sara Lee/Bryan Foods. He was a member of First Baptist Church in West Point. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
Graveside services will be at noon Saturday, April 21, at Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. The Hon. Judge Lee Sorrels Coleman will officiate, and Kenny Green will assist. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dorothy Kellogg; and four brothers, Culton, Bernard, Alexander and Jack.
Visitation will be from 11:45 a.m. to noon Saturday at the cemetery.
