EUPORA – Ollie Bailey Griffin, 91, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Webster County.
Visitation is 5:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MICHIE, Tenn. – Dorothy Lorean Potts, 85, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Magnolia Regional Health Center.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Farmington Baptist Church. Burial is at Farmington Baptist Church Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

TUPELO – Betty Whiteside passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Grayson-Porter’s Mortuary.
Paul Thornton
MOOREVILLE – Paul Thornton, 89, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at his home. He was born June 7, 1923, to Willie and Beulah Stanford Thornton. He retired from the City of Memphis Light, Water and Gas Department. He was a Baptist and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed fishing, mowing his yard and was an avid sports fan.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Terry Booker officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Mae Thornton of Mooreville; one son, Gary Thornton (Kathy) of Benton, Ark.; two daughters, Ann Mitchell (J.B.) of Mooreville and Mitzi Reape (Donnie) of Brighton, Tenn.; one sister, Eva Smith, of Mantachie; seven grandchildren, Tim Mitchell, Kristi Butler, Summer Baird, Brandon Thornton, Dana Kenyon, Taylor Reape and Trevon Reape; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cecil Thornton and Troy Thornton; and one sister, Ruble Hankins.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Johnnie Grissom
MANTACHIE – Johnnie Clifton Grissom, 94, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Countrywood Plantation in Mantachie. She was born March 25, 1919, to Charley Jackson “Jack” and Lula Vercie Price Grissom. She was a school teacher at South Prentiss and Mooreville and spent the majority of her 42 year career as a third-grade teacher at Lawhon Elementary in Tupelo. She was a member of the Mantachie United Methodist Church where served as a Sunday school teacher for 44 years and as church clerk.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Ronnie Goodwin and Bro. Ron Schwake officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Vercie Grissom; two twin brothers, Price Grissom and infant, Trice Grissom; and four sisters, Mable Grissom, Inez Houston, Estle Whitaker and Inetta Whitaker.
Pallbearers will be Lane Whitaker, Kent Hernandez, Steve Whitaker, Joel Robinson, Don Tyra and Carl Jamieson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
