MOOREVILLE – James Henry “Clif” Clifton, III, 54, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his family. A Tupelo native, he was born June 10, 1959, to James Henry, Jr. and Shirley Annette Scruggs Clifton. Clif lived most of life in Lee County. After twenty years of service, he retired from Cooper Tire. Clif greatly enjoyed the outdoors, spending his time hunting, fishing, boating, riding his 4-wheeler and watching tv with his devoted pet and companion, Dewey. He loved his family and was a member of the Eggville Church of Christ.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Leon Willis officiating. A graveside service will follow at Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle Clifton of Mooreville; four children, Mike Clifton (Jennifer) of Mooreville, Valarie Clifton of Starkville and Krista and Jennifer Clifton, both of the home; three grandchildren, Caleb Clifton of Pontotoc,
Kaiden Dupree and Brady Clifton, both of Mooreville; one sister, Anita Clifton Wolf (Lee) of Baldwyn; one brother, Charles Clifton (Shannon) of Tupelo; his parents, Jimmy and Annette Clifton of Tupelo/Iuka.
Pallbearers will be Mike Asters, Lee Wolf, Tim Brock, Rick Roberts, Steve Krueger and Dick Rice.

Claude Collins III
TUPELO – Claude Liddell Collins III, 59, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. Claude was born on Feb. 1, 1954, in Grenada to Claude L. Collins Jr. and Elizabeth Jospephine Plank Collins. He grew up in Grenada, attended welding school, and worked there in his early years before moving to Tupelo in l995, where he was employed by Tecumseh Products in maintenance until becoming disabled. A member of Bissell Baptist Church, Claude was a great outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and all God’s creation.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 7 p.m. today at Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with his son-in-law, Pastor Jason Gillespie and Bro. Roger Smith officiating. Private burial will be in the family plot in Grenada County.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until service time today only at Tupelo Chapel of Holland.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Brown Collins of Tupelo, to whom he married in Gatlinburg, Tenn. on Sept. 28, 1998; two sons, Lee Collins of Plantersville and Josh Collins of Grenada; two daughters, Tammy Gillespie (Jason) of Columbia, S.C. and Allison Greenwell (Robert) of Killen, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Kayla, Abby, Parker, Noah, Emma Grace, Anna Claire and Ava Kate; his siblings, Janie Logan of Winona and Hattie McCain (Jeff) of Greenwood and Robert Collins (Karen) of Stewart; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Johnny Lee Collins.

AMORY – Nancy Stiles Steed died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born Feb. 9, in Baldwyn, she was a daughter of Glover Triplett Stiles Sr. and Helen Smythe Stiles. She married Donald Steed in 1960.
She grew up in and graduated high school in Baldwyn. She attended First Baptist Church of Amory and was a member of Pilot Club of Amory and Beta Sigma Phi. She retired from South Central Bell and also worked at P&S Clinic and Blacks
Department Store in Amory. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Atlanta and St. Louis to watch baseball. She also enjoyed needlepoint, crossword puzzles and reading. A collector of antiques, she had an enormous collection of glassware that she was very proud of.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. today at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Dr. Allen Simpson and Bro. Wes White officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald G. Steed of Amory; her sister, Helen Chisholm of Charleston S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Sara Jane Stiles; and brothers, Glover T. Stiles Jr. and Dale Stiles.
Pallbearers will be Bob and Lyman Chisholm, John Nestor, Tim Nelson, Prentiss Wiggington, Charles Marshall, Lester Cagle, and Curtis Lewellen.

SOMMERVILLE, Tenn. – Martha Genell Copeland Wages, 79, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church and a homemaker. She loved her family dearly, and she enjoyed playing bingo.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Kesler Funeral Home Chapel in Baldwyn with Bro. Marvin Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery. Kesler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Blades (Ted) of Sommerville, Tenn. and Janet Benjamin (David) of Baldwyn; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Martha Copeland; one daughter, Teresa Burelson; and two sons, Dennis and James Wages.

MOOREVILLE – Bessie McAfee Mills, 72, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at her residence in Mooreville after an extended illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery near Fulton.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday only.

SKYLINE – Kenneth L. Burnsides, U.S. Navy, Retired, 86, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness.
A service celebrating his life will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the First Baptist Church of Tupelo. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Gilvo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at First Baptist Church.
