EVERGREEN – Bobby Ray Gray, 66, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at his home after an extended illness. He was born March 8, 1946, in Monroe County to Lonnie Lee and Frankie Estelle Jones Gray. He lived in Nettleton most of his life, but had lived in the Evergreen community for the past three years. He was a former truck driver for Hodges Construction in Tupelo and a Baptist. He loved collecting model airplanes and flying airplanes, going fishing, watching football and being with his family.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with the Rev. Casey Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy brown Gray of Evergreen; four daughters, Donna Jean Hester (John) of Tupelo, Ginger Ann Hamm (John) of Mantachie, Peggy Sue Davis (Wayne) of West Union and Kathy Ann Gray of the home; three sons, Jimmy Ray Gray (Tammy) and Bobby Lee Gray (Crystal), all of Pontotoc, and Ricky Dale Gray (Regena) of Nettleton; two sisters, Jean Reeves (Alton) of Aberdeen and Faye Laverne Nicholson of Nettleton; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Virginia Gray, Peggy Reynolds and Wanda Joyce Gray; one brother, Lee Wayne Gray; and one son-in-law, Kelly Hamm.
Pallbearers will be Andy Gray, Justin Gray, Jacob Gray, Ralph Hawkins, Jimmy Dale Gray and Robert Harris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Lee Gray, Ricky Gray, Jimmy Gray, Eddie Leach, David Lee Gray, Wayne Davis and Johnny Gray.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

GOLDEN – Louis Arvin Swindle, 71, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born May 16, 1941, to Noah and Reber Pruitt Swindle. He was a small-engine repairman for most of his life. He enjoyed gardening and raising chickens and was an avid conversationalist.
A memorial gathering will be at 3 p.m. today at his home on Antioch Church Road in Golden with Bro. David Holcomb officiating. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife and the love of his life of 51 years, Reda Swindle; four children, Lloyd Swindle, Lynn Grady (Tony), Mary Cantrell (Ray) and Dale Swindle (Melissa); seven grandchildren, Alan Grady, Brandi Abbott (Derek), Lee Grady, Shrea Tyra (Joey), Jonathan Allison (Aarika), Casey Swindle and Haley Swindle; six great-grandchildren; his father, Noah Swindle; one brother, Frankie Swindle; and one brother-in-law, David Pounds.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Reber Swindle; and his sister, Linda Pounds.

PONTOTOC – Daisy Idale Smith Walls Wilder, 90, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center of Tupelo. She was born on Jan. 23, 1922, to John and Della Wiggs Smith in Houlka. She was a Christian who was strong in her faith and a great survivor. She was a loving wife and mother who began her family at age 15 and devoted her whole life to her family.
A celebration of life service will be Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at 11 a.m at Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Bro. Buddy Morphis and Bro. J.W. Owens officiating. Graveside service will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery of Houlka.
She leaves behind five daughters, Shirley Walls Staten (Raymond) of Como, Charlotte Walls Smith of Pontotoc, Lynda Walls Verret (Davis) of New Orleans, La., Rebecca Wilder Bennett (Henry) of New Orleans, La., and Regina Wilder of Pontotoc; one son, Malcolm Walls (Linda) Burleson, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and Franklin D. Wilder, father of three of her children.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Malcolm Dewey “Pete” Walls; son, Roger Wilder; son-in-law, Smitty Smith; six brothers, Jim Frank Smith, Thomas Smith, Wess Smith, Dewey Smith, Earnest Smith and Bilbo Smith; and two sisters, Zula Mae Smith Turner and Ruby Pearl Smith Tallent.
Pallbearers to serve will be grandsons, Jason Ragusa, Neal Delhomme, Ronald Mueller, Steven Mueller, Jerry Murray and Henry Bennett.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home of Pontotoc.
CORINTH – Katherine Cook Potts, 65, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Magnolia Regional Health Center.
Services are at noon Tuesday at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment is at Corinth National Cemetery.

FULTON – Gwendolyn Carroll, 85, died Dec. 15, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born June 6, 1927, to Trenton and Vola Bullard Bennett. She was a member of the Fulton Church of Christ for 50 years. She worked at CharmStep in Fulton for 25 years before her retirement. She enjoyed playing Scrabble, cards and pitching washers. She was a member of The Ladies American Legion Auxiliary.
Service is at 10 a.m. Monday at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Russ Crosswhite officiating. Interment is at Itawamba Memorial Garden.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Wigginton (Danny) of Fulton and Brenda Dulaney (James) of Tupelo; three grandsons, Lee Taylor (Tanya) of Mooreville, Brian Taylor of Fulton and Bryon Wigginton (Nikki) of Amory; three granddaughters, Jennifer Brown (Aundreas) of Georgia, Katie Kennedy (Richard) of North Carolina, and Robyn Ware (Jeffery) of Smithville; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Nell Wheeler of Fulton; one sister-in-law, Nelda Boyd (Stephen) of Fulton; one niece, Denita Dennis (Danny) of Fulton; and one nephew, Trent Bennett (Renee) of Fulton.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Quitman Carroll whom she married August 1, 1945; and one brother, Gerald Bennett.

FULTON – Rev. Bobby Joe Thompson Sr., 76, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at his residence in Dorsey. He was born Sept. 10, 1936, to William and Ida Mae Pate Thompson. He was a preacher for 46 years and was a retired plumber. He was a member of Living Water Community Church in Mooreville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Horace Barnes and Bro. Hollis Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Joann Umfress Thompson of Dorsey; two sons, Bobby Thompson Jr. (Lisa) of Mooreville and Scott Thompson of Dorsey; one daughter, Rhonda Medlin (Patrick) of Dorsey; one brother, William “Bud” Thompson (Helen) of Peaceful Valley; two half-brothers, Wayne and Terry; two half-sisters, Martha and Geraldine; eight grandchildren, Heather, Holly, Kara, Shauna, Hannah, Leah, Sean and Seth; and one great-grandson, Hendrix.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Ruth Crum (Larry) of Corinth and Margaret Ann Mullins of Walnut; one son, Tommy B. Bell (Bonnie) of Walnut; one sister, Betty Ann Boyd of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Bell Sr.; two daughters, Betty Carol Nails and Ruby Doris Garner; two sons, Buford Bell Jr. and Charles Bell; her parents, Newton and Ruby Smith Boyd; one sister; and two brothers.

TUPELO – Billie “B.B.” Porter Baggett, 86, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born March 28, 1926, in Memphis to Arthur Sanderson and Annie Spencer Porter. She was a graduate of Messick High School in Memphis. On July 21, 1946, she married Robert Aubrey Baggett Sr. in Walnut. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Tupelo, where she served as church clerk for some time. She also served on the Parsonage Committee. She was a medical secretary at University of Mississippi Medical Center until she retired in 1988. She also worked as an office manager and secretary at R.A. Baggett & Co., the tile and marble business that her husband established in 1963. She especially loved spending time with her family and visiting with her friends, telling jokes and going to Shepherd Center. She enjoyed playing the piano, attending the Christian Women’s Club and was an avid reader. Her favorite places were the church and the library.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues, 535 W. Jefferson Street, Tupelo, MS 38804 with Dr. Gayle Alexander, the Rev. Rick Ball and the Rev. Dave Jensen officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include two sons, Robert “Rob” Aubrey Baggett Jr. (Teresa) of Blythewood, S.C., and Richard Ryan “Rick” Baggett (Leisa) of Pontotoc; five grandchildren, Laurie Baggett of Tupelo, Bryan Baggett of Lexington, S.C., Jade Chapman (Drew) of Pontotoc, Emily Baggett O’Sullivan (Cam) of Moore, S.C., and Amanda Baggett of Pontotoc; two great-grandchildren, William Robert Lindley of Tupelo and Indee Leise Chapman of Pontotoc; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years, Robert Aubrey Baggett Sr.; three brothers, A.S. “Buddy” Porter Jr., Jack Porter and Leo Porter; and the aunt who raised her, Hattie “Hixie” Downing Hix.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Williams, Larry Fears, Steve White, Tim and Joe West and Mitch Waycaster.
