SALTILLO – Tommy Glenn Timmons, 69, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, after a sudden illness. He was born in Lee County on Aug. 3, 1943, to Lawrence and Mildred Glenn Timmons. He owned and operated Timmons Woodworks. He retired with the rank of major from the Mississippi Army National Guard after 27 years, serving in the 1st Battalion/198th Armor and the 155th Separate Armored Brigade. He was a Baptist.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Bobby Holland officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Cindy Timmons; his daughter, Leah Caitlin Timmons of the home; his brother-in-law, the Rev. Joey Goodwin (Diane) of the Carolina community; and his aunt, Ruth Hankins (Charles) of Saltillo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mildred Timmons; his grandparents, Bob and Lilly Timmons, and Jim and Elizabeth Glenn; and his in-laws, Ray and Janet Payne.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rinaldi, Randy Wilson, Gerald Timmons, Billy Ellison, Ricky Bishop, Jamie Gunnells and Myron Kelley.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ABERDEEN – Edward Lashawn “Lil Froot” Walker, 36, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, in Aberdeen. He was a member of Baptist Grove M.B. Church and employed at United Furniture in Okolona.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Baptist Grove M.B. Church in Prairie. The Rev Chester McNairy will officiate. Burial will be in the Baptist Grove M.B. Church Cemetery. Belle Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by two sons, Dequan Paine and Jaqavis Walker, both of Aberdeen; one daughter, Breshayla Tumblin of Aberdeen; his father, Edward Walker of Prairie; his mother, Debbie Walker of Aberdeen; one brother, Reginald Gillespie of Prairie; and three sisters, Latosha Lenoir of Prairie, Marlana Young of Tupelo and Uchenna Green of Southaven.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Natassia Walker.

PONTOTOC – Katie Mae Forman Todd, 92, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Sunshine Health Care in Pontotoc. She was a member of Horton Memorial Baptist Church. She was retired from Irwin B. Schwabe Manufacturing and Ram Golf Manufacturing. She owned and operated Todd’s Grocery for many years. She enjoyed sewing, shopping and spending time with her family.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sand Springs Church with the Rev. J.W. Owen and the Rev. Kevin Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Springs Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Zelda Montgomery (Tranny) of Pontotoc; two sons, Robert D. Todd (Thelma A.) of Pontotoc and Mitchell D. Todd (Candy) of West Olive, Mich.; two sisters, Margaret Tackitt (Clyde) of Randolph and Joyce Baines of Hayden, Ala.; three brothers, Frank Forman (Clivie) of Warrior, Ala., Earl Forman of Pontotoc and Lannie Forman (Marilyn) of Alabama; one sister-in-law, Louise Forman of Pontotoc; five grandchildren, Kim Curtis (Jan), Becky Tutor, Mitchell Todd (Karen), Warren Todd (Diane) and Beth Wray (Jason); and eight great-grandchildren, Emma Wray, Ben Wray, Leah Wray, Cameron Curtis, Chase Curtis, Noah Todd, Luke Tutor and Dalton Tutor.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert Neal Forman and Mary Etta Wise Forman; her husband, Ornie Mitchell Todd;j her granddaughter, Melissa Todd; and a brother, Johnny Forman.
Pallbearers will be Warren Todd, Mitchell Todd, Jason Wray, Junior Tackitt, Junior Forman and Bobby Forman. Honorary pallbearers will be Wimp Swords and Clyde “Buddy” Tackitt.

Euphus Dwight Ruth
BRUCE – Euphus Dwight Ruth, 84, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at home. He was born Sept. 22, 1928, in the Old Town community in Calhoun County. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bruce. He was a 1947 graduate of Bruce High School and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a former manager of the Boyt Cottonwood Ranch in Devers, Texas, a retired co-owner of Bruce Motor Supply and a retired director of BancorpSouth of Bruce. He was a former member of Bruce Lion’s Club, an active supporter of Bruce Schools athletics and a charter member of the David Murphree Chapter of the Sons of the Revolution. He loved the outdoors and was an avid quail hunter and crappie fisherman. He enjoyed life to the fullest and cherished time spent with his family, especially his wife, Mattye, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Dr. Daniel Hathorne will officiate. Burial will be in Bruce Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mattye Collins Ruth of Bruce; one son, Euphus Dwight “Butch” Ruth Jr. of Greenville; one daughter, Deborah Ruth Cain; a son-in-law, Jerry Cain of Olive Branch; grandsons, Jeremy Cain (Ashley), Joshua Cain, Jordan Cain, Cody Ruth and Casey Ruth; great-grandchildren, Cayla Cain, Alora Cain and Owen Cain; two sisters, Mildred Ruth Moore of Marks and Nancy Ruth Turner of Memphis; one brother, B.C. Ruth (Clint) of Cleveland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Flossie Ruth; brother, Dale Ruth; and sisters, Lorene Ruth Burris, Delphi Ruth Inman and Glennie Ruth Harrelson.

NETTLETON – James Oliver Arnold, 51, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. A lifelong resident of Monroe County, he was the son of Willie and Patricia Arnold. He was a member of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and an employee of Arnold Framing Company. He loved to work and loved sports.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Springhill M.B. Church in Nettleton. The Rev. Johnny Jointer will officiate. Burial will be in Mullens Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his parents, Willie and Patricia Arnold of Nettleton; one daughter, Lateria M. Arnold of Wren; and two sisters, Belinda (James) Fields of Brandon and Teresa (Milan) Word of Nettleton.

BRUCE – William Franklin “Bill” Hawkins, 58, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at his home. He was born April 17, 1954, in Bruce. He was a 1971 graduate of Bruce High School. He was a construction worker, building water tanks, and a brick mason. He served in the National Guard for six years.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Elder Ed Easley, Bro. Darrell Logan and Elder Rusty Wise will officiate. Burial will be in Bruce Cemetery.
Survivors include his father, Fred Hawkins of Bruce; two brothers, Sammy Joe (Janice) Hawkins of Bruce and Wade Hawkins of Hernando; two nephews, Allen Hawkins and Justin Hawkins; two nieces, Amy Bacon and Jina Gunter; and three great-nieces, Mattie Grace Hawkins, Sammie Beth Gunter and Jessie Marie Hawkins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Tiner Hawkins.

MARIETTA – Ruby Irene Owens Burns, 89, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Nov. 18, 1923, to Square and Syble Stephens Owens. She was a housewife and a member of East Marietta Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Janette Taylor of Marietta; one son, Darrie (Margaret) Burns of Saltillo; two sisters, Pauline Reece and Margie Johnson, both of Booneville; four grandsons, Darrick, Darrell, Bill and Brian; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Eugene “Gene” Burns; her parents; six brothers; and a son-in-law, Charles Taylor.
