TUPELO – Delores M. Saunders, 78, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Dec. 2, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a wonderful and caring mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was of the Catholic faith.
Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport, Iowa, will be handling the funeral arrangements. Lee Memorial Funeral Home will be handling all local arrangements including a memorial service which will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, in the Lee Memorial Chapel.
She was born on Dec. 24, 1933, in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of Charles and Ethel (Glaudel) Bitterman.
Survivors include her children; son, Wallace (Mary) Quandt Jr. of Saltillo, and two daughters, Brenda (John) Kannady of Denver, Colo., and Cheryl (Cleve) Bramlett of Belden; a brother, David (Patricia) Bitterman of Davenport; sisters-in-law, Kittie (Jerry) Mooney of Houston, Texas, and Geraldine (Monty) Beckley and Judy Bitterman of Davenport, Iowa; her Grandchildren, Maurine (Jim) Dare, Monica Kannady, John (Katie) Kannady II, all of Denver, Colo., Wayne (Candice) Easterling of Marietta and Rachel Easterling of Belmont; great-grandchildren, Kenneth, Shaun and Naomi Kannady of Denver, Cory and Justin Lovelace of Belmont, and Chloe Easterling of Marietta.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Wallace Quandt Sr. and Weldon T. Saunders, and her brothers, Richard and Glenn Bitterman.

WINONA – Charlotte Sheffield Loden, 93, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Country Meadows Personal Care Home near Greenwood. She was born Oct. 13, 1919, in Itawamba County to Gilbert and Ark Martin Sheffield. She grew up in Itawamba County. She married William Landon Loden, who preceded her in death. She was a retired employee of the State of Mississippi and a member of First Baptist Church in Winona. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bridge.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dorsey Memorial Cemetery in Itawamba County, The Rev. Terry Walton will officiate. Oliver Funeral Home of Winona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Loden (Linda) of Mountain Home, Ark., and Steve Loden (Joy) of Winona; one brother, Joe Sheffield of Fulton; eight grandchildren, Amy Mayhue (Rob), Will Loden (Leslee), Lisa Allen (Brad), Marcus Walker (Ashley), Lindsey Loden, Leslie Martin (Russell), Laurie Francis (Alan) and Lee Loden (Michele); 13 great-grandchildren, Braden, Trip, Truitt, Stokes, Ansley, Walker, Warren, Rusty, Mitchell, Sara, Kerri, West and Hannah; one great-great-grandchild, Isaac; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

MANTACHIE – Chadwick Jones Starling , 38, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Dec. 21, 1973, to Truman and Nora Lee Grimes Starling. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Air Force. He was a construction worker and in retail sales before becoming disabled. He was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting swords and music.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Curtis Shelton officiating. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Angel Starling; his mother, Nora Lee Starling; one daughter, Savannah Starling; one step son, Dustin Hudgens, all of Mantachie; one stepdaughter, Megan Reed of Saltillo; one brother, Joe Starling (Jan) of Mantachie; one sister, Sondra Byrd (Chris) of Mooreville; and one grandchild, Jeremiah Mallette of Saltillo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Truman Starling; a brother, Larry T. Starling; and two infant grandchildren.

TIPLERSVILLE – Ronnie L. Spight, 47, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Dec. 9, 1964, to Dionysus and Ruby Spight. He was a member of Ball Hill M.B. Church in Tiplersville. He graduated from Walnut High School and attended Northeast Community College. He loved to build and to work, and he always wore a smile. He was loved by all and will be truly missed.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family hour beginning at 6 p.m. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. IUKA – Peggy Harris, 87, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Murrah (Roger Byrd) of Iuka and Jane Cohick (Randy) of State College, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Quay Poole of Booneville; seven grandchildren, Chris Murrah (Sondra), Tyler Cohick, Logan Harris, Bethany Harris, Jennifer Foster (Brian), Kristin Cohick and Kim Reed (Charlie); three great-grandchildren; a special son-in-law, David Murrah (Cyndi); a special daughter-in-law, Cherry Owen (Raymond); and her roommate, Peggy Walker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Maggie Moss, and C.J. Wakefield; her husband of 50 years, Clyne Harris; and a son, Greg Harris.

Rueben Carl Stutts
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Rueben Carl Stutts, 82, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012. He was born April 11, 1930, to L.H. and Coy McGee Stutts in Booneville. After graduating from Booneville High School in 1948, he went on to further his education at Mississippi State University, graduating with a B.S. degree in 1952. He was a dedicated employee of South Central Bell Telephone Co. from 1952 until he retired as an accounting manager in 1994.
A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville. Interment to follow at Booneville City Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home in Brentwood, Tenn., was in charge of visitation in Brentwood.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen L. Stutts; and his sons, Gary W. Stutts (Ellie) of Herndon, Va., and John T. Stutts of Louisville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Ralph McGee Stutts

PARAGOULD, Ark. – William Eugene “Gene” Roberts passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born Dec. 31, 1927, at Beech Grove to O.H. and Willie Roberts. An Army veteran, he was retired from Emerson Electric. He was a member at unity Baptist Church. He worshipped his family and loved to be outdoors.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Flavious Roberts and M.C. Roberts; and one grea- grandson, Drew Penny.
Survivors include his spouse, Mary Lou Roberts; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Misty Roberts, and Mark and Sheila Roberts; two daughters and sons-in-law, Louetta and Steve Penny and Phyllis and Darron House; two brothers, Kenneth and Dallas Roberts; two sisters, Ovean Finley and Mary Cochran; seven grandchildren, Nic and Doug Penny, Derek and Danual House, and Justin, Chelsey and Kyla Roberts; and four great-grandchildren, Ross, Kalyn, Aver and Will Penny.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Center Hill Chapel at Phillips Funeral Home with Kevin Murray and Tracy Archibald officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

AMORY – Albert Wesley Hall, 39, died on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born Feb. 7, 1973, he was a son of David Hall Sr. and Reba Gail Peppers King. He grew up in Amory and attended Amory schools. He played football for Amory High School. He worked in construction as a roofer and he was a member of the Harvest Temple Church of God. A family man, he cherished the time spent with his two sons. He was avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Jeff Brooks and Bro. David Hall Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Haughton Memorial Park.
Survivors include his mother, Reba King (Larry) of Amory; his father, David Hall Sr. (Dee) of Pontotoc; two sons, Tommy Lucas Hall and Wesley Logan Hall, both of Amory; one sister, Kimberly Watson (Joe) of Stamping Ground, Ky.; two stepsisters, Sky Harmon of Pontotoc and Candace Spruill of Calhoun City; three brothers, David Hall Jr. (Glenda) of Pontotoc, Rocky Hall (Shanda) of Tupelo and Kenny Hall of Pontotoc; six stepbrothers, Will Harmon, Chris King, Joey King, Nicholas King, Andy Spruill and Thomas Spruill; his grandmothers, Margie Peppers of Hardy, Ark., and Helen Hall of Pontotoc; the mother of his children, Amanda Lowder of Amory; and nieces and nephews, Caleb and Laken Hall, and Collin Watson.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Arnie Wesley Peppers and John Hall; two aunts, Carolyn Johnson and Peggy Moffett; and one stepbrother, Leslie King.

JACINTO – Frances Willard Cooksey Tucker, 74, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born April 5, 1938, to Levi and Nellie Carpenter Cooksey. She was a homemaker and a member of Hill Top Church of God.

She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda (Jerry) Eaton of Kossuth and Donna (Larry) Wildmon of Marietta; one son, Gerald Tucker of Jacinto; one sister, Linda (Kenny) Marcum of Corinth; three brothers, L.Q. (Norma) Cooksey of Jacinto, John (Eula) Cooksey of Burton and Larry (Wanda) Cooksey of Ramer , Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Tim (Joanne) Eaton, Steven (Jessica) Eaton, Lucas (Angie) Eaton, Misty (Shane) Eaton, Michael (Brittnie) Wildmon, Jeffrey (Alison) Wildmon, Jeremy (Fonda) Tucker and Sarah Hall; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clarence Tucker, on July 12, 2012; her parents; five sisters; and three brothers.

OXFORD – John “Little Jr.” Gordon Jr., 77, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford. A native of Oxford, he was the son of John Gordon Sr. and Girtie Booker Gordon Boone. He was a retired sanitation worker for the City of Oxford. He was a member of East Providence M.B. Church, where he served in the choir and was past president, and chief usher on the usher board. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed cooking, fishing and animals, and he loved things to be organized and clean.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at East Providence M.B. Church. The Rev. Johnny Frost will officiate. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Gordon of Oxford; five daughters, Valerie Gordon, Pamela Gordon, Ameena Dennis, Tonjia (Fitzroy) Thompson and Twanna (Gery) Phillips, all of Oxford; two sons, Larry (Alma) Hilliard of Oxford and Kendric (Sandy) Gordon of Marshall, Mo.; three sisters, Gladys Boone of Milwaukee, Wis., Martha Boone and Gwen (Luster) King, both of Oxford; one brother, James Booker of Oxford; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

BALDWYN – Isabel “Izzie” Mears Green 92, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Nov. 25, 1920, to Boyd and Nora Strickland Mears. She was a homemaker, a member of Grace Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert “Bob” Green of Baldwyn; and a number of nieces and nephews.
