OXFORD – Lenora “Topsy” Pegues Smith, 97, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc.

Myrtle Roberts
GOLDEN – Myrtle Lou Presley Roberts, 95, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a member of Tremont Baptist Church. She retired after 40 years from Monroe Trousers in Smithville.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kesler Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Bro. Jeff Harp and Ferrel Swords officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery. Kesler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Irene Parks of Golden; three grandchildren, Michael Roberts and Ken Parks (Jenny), both of Golden, and David Parks (Angela) of Blue Springs; one great-grandchild, Brittany Parks; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Roberts; three sisters, Madie Hayes, Mabel Lentz and Dimple Young; four brothers, Carel, Paul, Clarence and Basil Presley; and a son-in-law, Gerald Parks.
Visitation will be from 4 until 9 p.m. today.

Barbara Hathcock
BALDWYN – Barbara Jean Hathcock 74, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility after an extended illness. She was born Jan. 16, 1938, in Booneville. She was a farmer’s wife and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She liked sewing and canning fruits and vegetables.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Adams officiating. Burial will be in East Mt. Zion Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky Hathcock and Randy Hathcock (Lisa), all of Baldwyn; two daughters, Karen Patterson (Nathan) and Teresa Minor, all of Baldwyn; two brothers, Tony Taylor and Fred Taylor; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Keyes, Jessica Williams, Kristy Roberts, Caitlin Suddieth, Dillon Minor, Cody Minor, Hannah Hathcock, Tyler Hathcock and Haden Hathcock; five great-grandchildren, Jordan and Andrew Keyes, Laura Grace Williams, and Joshua and Zachery Suddieth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hathcock; parents, William and Sally Sizemore Taylor; four brothers, Carlie, Troy, Louis and William Taylor; and a sister.
Pallbearers will be Matt Keyes, Billy Williams, Jimmy Suddieth, Scott Roberts, Gary “Buck” Edge and Ricky Patterson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Home.

CORINTH – Annie Dale Dees, 80, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Magnolia Regional Health Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Corinth. Burial will be in Shiloh C.P. Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

TUPELO – Sarah McGaughy Copeland, 67, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Feb. 18, 1944, in Lee County to Mack L. McGaughy Sr. and Cora L. McGaughy. She was a member of Whitehill M.B. Church.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Whitehill M.B. Church with the Rev. Jeffrey Daniels officiating. Burial will be in the McGaughy Cemetery in Shannon. Agnew & Sons Funeral Home of Verona is in charge of arrangement.
Survivors include her daughters, Teresa McGaughy, Ava Edwards, Michele Copeland, Collette Copeland, Samerica Copeland and Peggy Jones, all of Tupelo, Joann Copeland of Nashville, Tenn., and Betty Pittman of Memphis; three sons, Wayne McGaughy of Shannon, Nathaniel McGaughy of Tupelo and George Allen Copeland of Tupelo; three sisters, Juanita Shannon, Cora Blaylock and Mattie Edward (Don), all of Shannon; three brothers, Mack McGaughy Jr. of Verona, James McGaughy and Dallas McGaughy, both of Shannon; 26 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, a sister and a brother-in-law.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today with the family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.

Bobby Joe Hendrick
MANTACHIE – Bobby Joe Hendrick, 84, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at his home after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of the Shiloh community of Itawamba County, he was born Nov. 23, 1927, to W.C. and Floy Hendrick. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served as an M.P. in Europe. He worked for Cook-Coggin Engineers for 50 years. He enjoyed catfishing and working. His grandchildren knew him as “Pappie.”
A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Bobby Hankins and Bro. Ray Guin officiating. Burial will be in Center Star Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Hendrick of Mantachie; four children, Barbara Ann Duerson (Calvin) of Germantown, Tenn., Melinda Hendrick of Tupelo, and Bobby Hendrick (Stacie) and Thomas Hendrick (Kendra), both of Mantachie; eight grandchildren, Josh, Amelia, Lauren, Chandler, Tori, Kalee, Katlyn and John-Thomas; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Noah and Lillie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dorsey Hendrick and Charlie Hendrick; and one sister, Irene Mozingo.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Payne, Josh Harris, Kyle Strong, David Parker, Alan Cates and Tracy Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be all employees of Cook-Coggin Engineers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Mantachie.
Tina Coker
SMITHVILLE – Tina Hathcock Coker, 48, died on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born Nov. 24, 1963, in Amory, she was the daughter of Sible Murphy Hathcock and the late Edison “Pork-Chop” Hathcock. She was a graduate of Smithville High School. Being a proud mother of two children, she enjoyed raising them, being a wife to her husband and a proud of grandmother. She was a cook at the BP Station in Amory and a supporter of the Humane Society. She was a Primitive Baptist. She enjoyed riding horses when she was able, playing with her grandchildren, fishing, camping, shooting guns and her Mustang.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Elder Bobby Howell officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Greg Coker of Smithville; her daughter, Courtney Coker Harper (Chris) of Smithville; her son, Alan Coker (Liz) of Amory; her parents, Sible and Dwight Hathcock of Amory; brother, Phillip “Chop” Hathcock of Smithville; grandchildren, Summer Jernigan, Logan Coker, Hayden Harper, Connor Coker; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Kay Dobbs, Tammy Dyer and Teresa McCormick.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Billy Coker Jr.
Pallbearers will be Randy Hathcock, Andy Hathcock, Richard Box, Nick Hathcock, A.J. Murphy, Terry Allred, Keith Hathcock, Chris Hathcock.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

PONTOTOC – James Brandon Eaton, 30, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at his residence. He was an employee of American Furniture.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Browning Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Crook officiating. Burial will follow in East Chickasaw Memorial Gardens in Okolona. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, James C. “Pete” Eaton and Donna Rose Posey Eaton of Pontotoc; his grandmother, Christine Eaton of Houston; one half sister, Tonya Eaton of New Zealand; and three brothers, Michael LaDon Eaton, Matthew Lynn Eaton and Marcus Lane Eaton, all of Pontotoc.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Louise Posey, and Cleo Eaton.

Zera Johnson
TUPELO – Zera Mae Johnson, 76, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at The Courtyard Nursing Center in Fulton. A lifelong Tupelo native, she was born July 3, 1935, to James Evans “Jim” and Caroline “Callie” Matilda Burleson Butler. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She loved her family and loved to cook for family gatherings until her health declined. She wanted her children, grandchildren and family to know the Lord and would witness to them about Christ. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Wexford Parmer officiating. Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Enita Parker (David) of Saltillo; two sons, Alan Johnson of Mantachie and Steve Johnson (Teresa) of Peaceful Valley; 10 grandchildren, Joey, Richard, Gregory and Jessica Johnson, Chad Parker (Ashlie), Josh Parker (Brooke), Amanda Rea (Brandon), Kellie Spratlin (Justin), Jennifer Brown and Trey Almond; 10 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Lakin Crane, Drew Farrar, T.J. and Brandon Johnson, Annabelle, Whit and Elijah Parker, Haidyn and Micah Parker; one sister, Tommie Smith of Jasper, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James and Mitchell Burleson and Jimmy Butler.
Pallbearers will be Josh Parker, Joey and Gregory Johnson, Justin Spratlin, Brandon Rea and Trey Almond.

RIPLEY – Johnnie K. Tyler, 85, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley. She was born Jan. 23, 1927, to John Henry and Fannie Myrtle Terry Brown. She was a member of the Ripley Church of Christ and retired from Genesco.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Donnie DeBord and Minister King McCarver officiating. Burial will be in Tippah Memorial Garden.
She is survived by two daughters, Sammie Joyce Pilgrim (James) of Hueytown, Ala., and Kathy Graves (Mike) of Ripley; one son, Jimmy Tyler of Memphis; two brothers, Jim Brown (June) of Detroit, Mich., and Carson Brown (Twila) of Indianapolis, Ind.; six grandchildren, James Samuel Pilgrim (Donna Lea) of Montgomery, Ala., Gary Dan Pilgrim (Ginger) of Eads, Tenn., Donna Pilgrim McMillin (Tim), Michael Hines Graves, David Allen Graves (Lisa) and Justin Tyler Graves (Leah), all of Ripley; six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Tyler; her parents; two sisters, and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be James Pilgrim, Gary Pilgrim, Michael Graves, Allen Graves, Tyler Graves and Tim McMillin.
