Glen Huling
EVANSTON, Wyo. – Malcolm Glen Huling, 69, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Dallas, Texas. He was born March 5, 1943, to Olympus “Fred” Maryland Huling and Dessie Owens Huling. He was employed with Crete Transportation. He was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years as a sergeant 1st class. He was a Master of Raki Indian medicine. He enjoyed hiking with his dogs in the mountains and being outdoors.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Senter Funeral Home in Fulton with Bro. Russ Crosswhite officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Senter Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Daine Huling of Evanston, Wyo.; two sons, Michael (Kathy) Huling and Keith Huling, all of Fulton; two stepsons, Heath Boudry of Evanston, Wyo., and Josh Boudry; four sisters, Ruth (Bob) Popp of Shelby Township, Mich., Patricia (John Shields) Ware of Silvester, Ga., Dolores Moore of Vidor, Texas, Agnus (Eldon) Plunkett of Fulton; granddaughter, Courtney Huling of Florida; three grandsons, Cody (Tiffany) Huling of Starkville, Dylin Huling of Caledonia and Michael Huling II of Fulton; granddaughter, Elizabeth Huling of Fulton; one stepgrandson, Austin Cox of Fulton; three stepgranddaughters, Megan Whitten, Savanna Whitten and Courtney (Patrick) Harnage, all of Fulton; one stepgreat-grandson, Christian; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Makinleigh Harnage of Fulton; mother of his children, Evelyn Huling of Fulton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Olympus “Fred” Maryland Huling; his mother, Dessie Owens Huling; a brother, George Huling; and two sisters, Edna Pertroski and Rosemary Handley.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Senter Funeral Home.

CORINTH – James K. Hannon, 87, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meigg Street Church of Christ. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Grayson-Porter Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Meigg Street Church of Christ.

Shawn Phillips
WREN – Randal Shawn Phillips, 42, died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in Monroe County. Born Sept. 27, 1970, in Amory, he was a son of Lee Edward Phillips and Brenda Phillips Garner. He worked for Bobby Harper Construction and formerly worked for Tecumseh. He enjoyed visiting with his friends, hunting, fishing, flower gardening and taking care of his animals, Bobo and Bonnie. He was Methodist.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with the Rev. J.C. Burks and the Rev. Harrison Upshaw officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park.
Survivors include his mother, Brenda Garner of Wren; his father, Eddie Phillips (Sarah) of Smithville; one brother, David Phillips (Angie) of Wren; an aunt, Marquleta Phillips of Brandon; three uncles, Danny Garner (Kim) of Wren, Donnie Garner (Cindy) of Wren and Bobby Phillips, (Ina) of Amory; three nephews, Chase Gaines, Cody Phillips and Cole Phillips; a host of cousins; and a special friend, Daddy Boozer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Elizabeth Garner, and Theodore and Tula Mae Phillips; and by great-grandparents, Frank and Ludie Grady.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Boozer, Bryan Wiggington, Billy Savage, Chase Gaines, Cody Phillips, Dustin Harper, Bobby Harper, Todd Glenn and Britt Savage.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and will continue until service time on Wednesday

Graham Russell Jr.
COLUMBUS – Graham Rogers “Butch” Russell Jr., 56, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County. He graduated from Caldwell High School in Columbus in 1975. He eventually moved back to Pontotoc where he lived with and helped take care of his mother. He enjoyed playing most sports, especially all types of racing. He had a special place in his heart for kids and was known as “Uncle Butch” to many. He loved his church family at Pontotoc Apostolic Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pontotoc Apostolic Church. Bro. Bennie Randolph will officiate. Burial will follow in Sand Springs Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Russell; a brother, Jackie Russell (Kathy); a sister, Kay McDonald (Gary); a sister-in-law, Nancy Russell; five nephews and one niece; four great-nieces and one great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Graham Russell; a brother, Terry Russell; an infant sister, Judy Carol Russell; and his grandparents, E.E. and Ida Russell, and Hugh and Desi Allred.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Moore, Landon Moore, Scott McGee, and nephews, Trent Russell, Russ McDonald, Evan Russell, Drew McDonald and John Tyler Russell.
Visitation will be at the church from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon to service time Wednesday.

Kim Boyd
TUPELO – Kim Gregory Boyd, 56, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House.
Private family services will be held at a later date. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his father, William Boyd (Mary Ann) of Tupelo; one sister; and three brothers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ema Boyd.

Marie Burlison
AMORY – Marie “Granny” Burlison, 91, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at River Place Nursing Center. She was born Aug. 3, 1921, in Detroit, Ala., to John T. and Ila B. Loggains Gilmore. She married David Reno Burlison in 1938, and they moved to Amory in 1955. She worked as a seamstress at Amory Garment. Growing up during the Great Depression, she was a hard-worker who got the most out of everything. A woman of faith, she was a member of Bethel Apostolic Church. One who enjoyed spoiling her family and loved to have fun, her hobbies were gardening, quilting, fishing and listening to country and gospel music. Along with her husband, they were proud of owning their home.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. today at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Coy Hill and Bro. Stanley Blaylock officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park.
She is survived by her son, David Burlison Sr. (Terri) of Quincy; sisters, Audrey Duncan of Zion, Ill., and Mag Pointkowski (Wally) of Buffalo, N.Y.; grandchildren, Teresa Hugley, Tonia Elam, Leah Walters, Janice Bounds, Janis Davis, David Burlison Jr., Sandra Boetel and Marty Stuthers; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Edward “Hank” Burlison; grandson, Randy L. Burlison; sisters, Josie Majors, Luvenia Twiner, Arzina Hill and Jessie Gilmore; and brothers, Murry, Opal, Bud and Burdine Gilmore.
Pallbearers will be Pat Gilmore, J.B. Burlison, Nathan Snider, Tanner Elam, Patrick Elam and Charles Plunkett. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of River Place Nursing Center.

PITTSBORO – Josie I. Spratlin Murphree, 93, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Bruce Community Living Center. She was born Aug. 20, 1919, in the Lloyd community. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Town Baptist Church. She was a retired seamstress for Glenn Slacks and DSL Mfg. of Bruce.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating and Bro. Justin Gates assisting. Burial will be in Memory Memorial Garden at Bruce.
Survivors include a son, Elion R. Murphree (wife, Carolyn Spradling) of Byhalia; two daughters, Brenda West (Gene) of Slate Springs and Judy Clements Brown (Bobby G.) of Bruce; two sisters, Rena Patterson and Marine Clark, both of Pittsboro; one brother, E.J. Spratlin of Hot Springs, Ark.; six grandchildren, Connie Pounders, Elion Ray Murphree Jr., Lori Perrigin, Julie (David) Newman, Cody (Ashley) Clements and Chase (Toni) Clements; two stepgrandchildren, Christi Stacy and Aaron Brown; six great-grandchildren, Kaylee Perrigin, Ashley Perrigin, Riley Newman, Reed Newman, Chloe Clements and Benson Clements; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Janey Stacy and Jaxson Stacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Joseph Spratlin and Sarah Ella Bailey Spratlin; her husband, Raymond E. Murphree; a sister, Mable Wright; and two brothers, Rex Spratlin and Elmer Spratlin.

Willie Emmons
BELDEN – William George “Willie” Emmons, 66, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. He was born in Memphis on Sept. 8, 1946, to George Washington and Bessie Harvell Emmons. He was a United States Army Vietnam veteran. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tupelo. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Corey Truett officiating. Burial will be in West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Emmons of Belden; his children, Marty Emmons (E C) of Belden and Frank Emmons of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, Chappell, William, Maggie and Thomas Emmons; two sisters, Betty Ray of Southaven and Wanda Smith of Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother, Bobby Emmons (Dixie) of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Billie Joe Emmons.

Larry Duty
TUPELO – Larry Arthur Duty, 65, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. Born in Tupelo on Jan. 5, 1948, to Arthur and Mary Livingston Duty, he was a graduate of Tupelo High School and the University of Mississippi. He was a retired insurance agent and a member of Anchor Church.
Private family services will be held at a later date. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his children, Jessica Fulgham of Tupelo, Stokes Duty (Tara) of Canton, Texas, and Mary Beth Duty of Plano, Texas; his brother, David Duty of Panama; five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Duty, and his mother, Mary Livingston Hall.

Billy Murk
BRUCE – Billy Wayne Murk , 81, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at his home. He was born June 15, 1931, in Bruce. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He was the owner of Bill’s Texaco and Bill’s Shoe Repair. He was a member of Mt. Comfort Baptist Church and the VFW.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with Bro. Rex Wilburn officiating and Bro. Joe Barnett assisting. Burial with military honors will be in Bruce Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Moorhead Murk of Bruce; one sister, Jean Sutton of Pittsboro; three daughters, Kerry Heinz of Oxford, Kellie (Mike) Byars and Kim Davidson, both of Saltillo; six grandchildren, Jeremy Yarbrough of Oxford, Briana Murphree of Oxford, Kevin Byars of Saltillo, Jared Ward of Bruce, Mallory Ward of Bruce and Toni Byars of Saltillo; six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Lee Murk and Odell Shoemake Murk; a brother, A.L. Murks; and a nephew, Paul Murks.

Loyd Warren Sr.
HOULKA – Loyd Carrol Warren Sr., 81, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17 2013, at his home. He was born on Oct. 6, 1931, in Pontotoc County. He was retired from Franklin Corporation, where he had held many jobs. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, but had attended First Baptist in Houlka with his family. He enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, watching sports, playing dominoes and he was a member of the Houlka Lions Club.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Houlka with the Rev. David Blackwell and the Rev. Jonathan Childress officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his children, Terri Turner (Garry) of Houlka, Loyd Warren Jr. (Alisha) of Houlka, Roger Warren (Chandra) of Houlka; his 14 grandchildren, Natalie Mirtich (John), Tanna Coleman (Jeremy), Gerren Turner (Stephanie), Mallori Williams, Hannah Warren, Kennedy Warren, Ry Warren, Weston Warren, Bethany Warren, Bailey Warren, Sarah Green (Brent), Stephen Simmons, Chris Farley and Lauren Burgess (Lee); his 10 great-grandchildren, Carter, Chloe, Colin, Abella, Max, Ava, Jase, Colby, Teagen and Ayden; his sisters-in-law, Jo Rowland (Stan) of New Albany, Grace Reeder Lyon (Bill) of New Albany; and his brother-in-law, Charlie Reeder of Tupelo.

Inez Dendy
PONTOTOC – Inez Arlene Hutcheson Dendy, 86, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Graceland Care Center in Pontotoc. She grew up in the Birmingham Ridge community. She was a homemaker who raised two sons. She was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church in Pontotoc and a former member of Friendship Baptist Church in Aberdeen.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Bro. J.W. Owens, Bro. Brandon Murphree and Bro. Tommy Whatley will officiate. Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Aberdeen. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by two sons, Tommy Dendy and Freddie Dendy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Tom Dendy; her parents, Fred and Laura Hutcheson; two sisters, Ruby Medders and Audrey Thompson; and one brother, Frank Hutcheson.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Medders, Jason Dendy, Chris Seger, Chris Hutcheson, Christopher Hutcheson and Brandon McWiilliams.

IUKA – Mildred E. Hurley, 94, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.

HOLLY SPRINGS – Jessie Mae Davis, 86, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, in Holly Springs. She was born June 30, 1926, in the Laws Hill community. She was a beautician and a member of First United Methodist Church of Holly Springs.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holly Springs Funeral Home with the Rev. Milton Whatley officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Holly Springs.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Peggy Shaw of Collierville, Tenn., and Mary Shaw of Laws Hill; nephews and nieces, John W. Shaw Jr. (Terri) of Olive Branch, Ronald W. Shaw of Holly Springs, Kenneth S. Smith of Holly Springs, Sidney C. Shaw Jr. (Jennifer) (of Laws Hill, Gregory B. HALLS, Tenn. – Nelda Taylor McCarthy, 83, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at her home. She was a homemaker and a longtime merchant in Halls, Tenn.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Halls Cemetery. Halls Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by one daughter, Gara McCarthy Strong; one granddaughter, Heidi Strong Elbarky; two great-grandchildren, Omar and Noorah Elbarky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Massey McCarthy, and an infant daughter Patti Joe McCarthy.
Visitation will be from noon to 1:45 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Halls, Tenn.

Opal Boyd
BELDEN – Opal Leigh Boyd, 92, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at the Martin House at the Greenhouses. She was born in Itawamba County on Nov. 16, 1920, to Daniel and Omer Guess McMillen. She loved gardening and keeping children in her home and all were special to her. She was a member of Belden Baptist Church for about 65 years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Don Baggett and the Rev. Jim Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery in Pontotoc County.
Survivors include her children, Danny Boyd of Belden and Doris Page (Jerry) of Belden; her grandchildren, Michael Boyd of Hattiesburg and Toni Page of Belden; her sisters, Ann Wilburn of Ballardsville and Ruth Reece of Mooreville.
