Robert Nutt Jr.
WALNUT – Robert Jackson Nutt Jr., 60, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at his residence in Walnut. He was born April 21, 1952, to Robert Jackson Nutt Sr. and Dorothy Wilkerson Nutt. He started earning his own way at age 14 by crawling on a dozier. He spent the next 45 years operating heavy equipment. He loved to hunt and enjoyed the outdoors. His nights were usually spent sitting out by a fire until late at night in his yard.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Studdard and Bro. James Voyles officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Dean Nutt of Walnut; one daughter, Peggy Jo Gadd of Ripley; three sons, James Nutt of Walnut, Sammy Nutt and Chris Nutt (Candice), all of Ashland; seven grandchildren, Austin Bonee of Falkner, McKynzie Nutt and Gavin Nutt, both of Florence, Hunter Lee Nutt of Walnut, Daniel Gadd and Summer Gadd of Tishomingo County, and Sydney Marie Nutt of Ashland.
Pallbearers will be Terry Clark, Doug Mitchell, Tim Tackett, Jose Ruiz, Gary Mitchell and Patton Paseur. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Nutt, Chris Nutt, William Earl Brown and Danny Talbart.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

TUPELO – Russell Wayne Hussey, 55, died suddenly Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at his home in Tupelo.

Carolyn Sue Hill
TUPELO – Carolyn Sue Hill, 73, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at her home after an extended illness. She was June 15, 1939, to George and Ina Faust of Lafayette Springs. She was a member of Tupelo Baptist Church and was an avid animal caretaker for many years. She worked at North Mississippi Medical Center in the nursing department during the late 1960s and early 1970s. She was a loving wife for 54 years and a devoted mother and grandmother.
Graveside services will be noon Monday at the Corinth National Cemetery with Bro. Mike Drewery and Bro. Pat Ewing officiating. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Hill of Tupelo; one son, Chris Hill (Bethany) of Shiloh Falls, Tenn.; three daughters, Regina and Renee Hill, both of Tupelo, and Emily Hill of Memphis; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Sandford, Buddy, Jack and Pat Faust; and one sister, Pawnee Faust.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy and Ricky Hill, Mike Hester, G.W. Dye, Glen Olita and Ray Warren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

PONTOTOC – William Baxter Tucker, 88, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a member of the Victory Life Center in New Albany. He was a retired captain in the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He served with the U.S. Marines in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 16 in Pontotoc and the Pontotoc Marine Corps League.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Bishop Raymond Bishop and Bro. Mark Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the West Heights Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Minnie Cupp Tucker of Pontotoc; his children, Joe Tucker (Beverly) of Pontotoc, Yolanda Tucker-Hall (Bobby) of New Albany, Mark Tucker (Sherry Phillips) of Pontotoc, Tim Tucker (Lorena) of Pontotoc and Eric Tucker (Anna) of Pontotoc; one sister, Louise Tucker of Pontotoc; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and three former foreign exchange students, Frederic Martinez of France, Roger Seidel of Germany and Tharatip Aramcharoen of Thailand.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert B. Tucker and Annie Mae Waldo Tucker; his sister, Hazel Sullivan; and his grandson, Lance Cpl. Marc Lucas Tucker.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Butler, Joseph Tucker, Beau Tucker, Ethan Tucker, Stacy Cowsert and Shane Cowsert.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

WEST POINT – Dorcellius Murray Jr., 85, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at his home.

CORINTH – Jeffie L. Clark, 63, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Magnolia Hospital. He was born July 12, 1949. He received his education at Easom High School. He was an employee of CSG Specialist Group.
Services will be at noon Monday at Mt. Pleasant Church with the Rev. Sammy Agnew officiating. Burial will be in the Rienzi Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his companion, Lila Wade; his children, Trece Clark, Nicole Beavers, Danielle Clark and Angela Judd; his siblings, W.C. Clark (Keecia), Vance Clark (Brenda), Lola Clark, James Clark (Kim), Margaret Simmons (Terry), Cornita Clark, Cedric Clark (Tracie), Bobby Boyd and Sandra Thompson; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Clark Jr.; his parents, Fletcher Clark and Susie Mae Clark; and his grandparents, Marion Floyd, Minnie Floyd, Gladys Clark and Alberta Boyd.

THOMASVILLE, Ala. – Virginia Clarice Spinks, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Chance, Ala. She was a member of the Thomasville United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Spinks of Norcross, Ga., and Carol Morris of Vanceboro, N.C.; two sisters, Ruth Dozier Wilkinson of Tupelo and Maudine Dozier of Thomasville, Ala.; three grandchildren, Courtney Diette, Hunter Morris and Jared Morris; six great-grandchildren, Caroline Diette, Jackson Diette, Avery Diette, Andrew Morris, Williams Morris and Olivia Morris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Mitford Spinks, and a daughter, Mary Dean Spinks.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Thomasville United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Sedberry officiating. Burial will be in Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville, Ala. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville is in charge of the arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Duane Ruth; a son, Johnny Myron Ruth; a grandson, Brad Ruth; two brothers, L.D. and Troy Welch; and a sister, Rudelle Smith.

HAMILTON – Linda Sykes Miller, 62, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Darlington Oaks Community Hospice in Verona. She was born March 30, 1950, to Durley Sykes and Lois Chandler Sykes in Aberdeen. She lived in Hamilton for the past seven years. She was a member of Hamilton Baptist Church, and she worked as a factory worker in the garment industry.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Bro. Robert Moore officiating. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Ewalla Kay Jordan (Glenn) of Aberdeen and Darlene Burroughs (Gary) of Nettleton; one stepdaughter, Tammy Miller of Greenville; two sons, Daniel Dewayne Harris (Donna) of Leland Terrell Wayne Harris (Valerie) of Nettleton; two stepsons, David Miller and Jody Miller (Misty), all of Greenville; four sisters, Carolyn Walker of Aberdeen, Martha West (Ronnie) of Aberdeen, Brenda Walker of Hamilton and Durlynn Lavender (Glenn) of Aberdeen; two brothers, James Sykes of Hamilton and Frank Sykes (Martha) of Aberdeen; 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Miller.

BRANDON, Fla. – Gloria Ann Barnett Regenold, 60, formerly of Bruce, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at her home in Brandon, Fla. She was born Oct. 13, 1952, in Memphis. She was a facility manager for storage units.

BOONEVILLE – Rebecca Michelle Peeks, 38, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, in Monroe, Wis. She was born Feb. 10, 1974, in Booneville. She was a homemaker, and she was a member of the Church of God. She enjoyed music and going to yard sales. She loved her family, especially her children.

She is survived by two children, Nathan Peeks and Corey Peeks, both of Booneville; her mother and stepfather, Amanda and Don Morphis of Saltillo; her father, Dean Bonds (Louise) of Booneville; two brothers, Danny Bonds of Booneville and Aaron Morphis (Janine) of Bay St. Louis; her grandmother, Gwen Nell Thornton of Booneville; an uncle, Dewayne Thornton of Booneville.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Horace Thornton, and Almus and Roxie Bonds.

FULTON – Mildred Coley West Sisk, 98, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at The Meadows, where she had resided one week. She was born Oct. 1, 1914, in Saltillo to Wiley Thomas Coley and Minerva Jane Koon Coley and grew up in Pontocola. She and her first husband, Jim West, moved to Arkansas in l940 where they farmed in the LePanto area. A spirited, independent woman, she loved the land and its produce, gardening and all animals, especially her dogs and cats. She developed a love of music as a child and loved listening to all kinds of music, especially gospel. She was of the Pentecostal faith, attending churches in Nettleton, Verona and Richmond. After the death of Mr. West in 1956, she married Buck Sisk, and they continued farming until his death in 1983.
A celebration of life service will be at 4:30 p.m. today at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Willis Miller officiating. Private burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to service time. Holland Funeral Directors Tupelo Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth West Andrew of Dorsey; three grandsons, James Andrew (Amy) of Fulton, John Andrew of Dorsey and Shawn Andrew (Adrienne) of Southaven; 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, June Wilkes of Bloomfield, Ind.; a granddaughter-in-law, Robin Davis Newell (Larry) of Tupelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Jim West and Buck Sisk; a grandson, Scott Davis; three sisters, Cloyce Hutchins, Irva Watson and Ethel Priest; and five brothers, Hartland, Marvin, Willie, Spurgeon and Orlando Coley.
