ASHLAND – Mary Joan Clark Wilkerson, 59, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at her home after a long illness. She was born June 26, 1953, to Harold Clark and Grace Munn of Ripley. She graduated from Ripley High School and Northeast Mississippi Community College and went on to work as an LPN for Tippah County Hospital and Ripley Nursing Home. Most recently she was employed as a teaching assistant at Hickory Flat Attendance Center, where she was more than devoted to her duties. She loved her family, friends and co-workers. Everyone knew her to always have a smile on her face and to be concerned for others before herself. She was a member of New Life Mission.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at McBride Funeral Home in Ripley.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the McBride Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Benton County.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Orville Wilkerson of Ashland; three daughters, Brandi Reese (Andy) of Ripley, Ashlea Decker (fiancé, Steve Plaxico) of Ripley and Hannah Wilkerson of Ashland; one sister, Carol Wommack (Lester); two brothers, Tommy Clark and John Clark; and a brother-in-law, Ernest Wilkerson Jr., all of Ripley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Tom and Alma Fortune Munn; her mother-in-law, Arletha Davis Wilkerson; a brother-in-law, Jimmie Lee Wilkerson; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Wilkerson Rhodes.
Pallbearers will be Ernest Wilkerson Jr., Andy Reese, Steve Plaxico, Dusty Mercer, Justin Elliott and Martin Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Wommack and W.T. Elliott.

AMORY – Roxie Ann Little, 68, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 3, 1944, to Essie and Iviria Hogan. She attended Wren High School. She was a Baptist and a member at New Prospect M.B. Church. She was a former employee of Hatley Red Kap and McCoy’s until she retired after many years of work. She enjoyed her favorite TV shows and spending time at family gatherings with her grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Amory with the Rev. Glenn Parks officiating. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Amory. Darden and Sons Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Debra (Eric) Parks and Micheal Little; three brothers, Wilbert Hogan, James Lee Hogan and Bobby Hogan, all of Amory; two sisters, Gennell Taylor of Peru, Ind., and Rena (Charles) Jenkins of Amory; four grandchildren, Reginald Parks, LaShunda Little of Kokomo, Ind., Javon Parks and Jakwan Parks of Amory.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters Dorothy Daniel, Daisy “Puttin” Hogan and Essie D. Whitehead; and one brother, Robert Lee “Bay” Hogan Jr.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today with a family hour from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to service time Thursday.
TUPELO – Marie Woods, 85, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born Jan. 26, 1928, in Memphis to William Elihu and Lucy Smith Stewart. She was a resident of Tupelo since 1963. She married Travis W. “Woody” Woods who preceded her in death May 30, 2001. She enjoyed conversation and spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. She was an avid golfer and people person. Before her illness she was a longtime member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church. When she became homebound, she loved watching Dr. Forrest Sheffield on the Harrisburg Baptist Church TV Ministry.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Forrest Sheffield and the Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include two children, Deborah “Debbie” Stiles (Mike) of Tupelo and Mike Woods (Karan) of Dorsey; one sister, Ann Hampton of Trenton, Tenn.; one brother, Ronnie W. Hampton of Trenton, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Shanna Allred, and Robert, Stuart and Boomer Woods; and five great-grandchildren, Hunter Allred, and Memory, Anna, Alex and Shelby Woods.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters, Maudine Campbell and Clatie Davis; and two brothers, Dan Hampton and Willie Stewart.
Pallbearers will be Robert, Stuart and Boomer Woods, and Hunter and Richard Allred.

FULTON – Carolyn Prestage Chatham, 74, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at her residence. She was born Jan. 15, 1939, to Gaddis Prestage and Marie Spradling Prestage. She married her husband, James A. Chatham, in 1957. She was a faithful member of the Fulton United Methodist Church since 1955 by Confession of Faith. She served on the Administrative Board, and taught Sunday School class and MYF. She was active in the Working Day Camp in the summer, teaching disciple classes, and serving as Sunday school superintendent. She also served on the Pastor-Parrish Committee, Lay Leadership Committee, and she enjoyed serving as a lay Speaker to local churches in Itawamba County. With her love for her church and church family, she served as co-chairman for “Because We Care” Committee and when her health allowed, she worked with the Food Pantry at the church.
She attended Itawamba Agricultural High School, and the University of Mississippi, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education. She taught at Church Street Elementary, Tremont Jr. High and High School and Fulton Elementary before her retirement in 1983, which was the year she also received the Teacher of The Year Award.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Fulton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Philip Box, the Rev. Glyn Wiygul, Mary Jo Gosa and Larry Pate officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Garden. Senter Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, James A. Chatham; one son, Brad (Missi) Chatham of Fulton; one daughter, Carol-Leigh Harvey of Humble, Texas; three grandsons, Colin Chatham, Jordan Chatham and Brennen Chatham, all of Fulton; three granddaughters, Jade Chatham of Fulton, and Madison Harvey and Payton Harvey, both of Humble, Texas; special aunt, Eva Lois Johnson of Fulton; sister-in-law, Linda (Don) Prestage Holcomb; and several special nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gaddis Prestage; her mother, Marie Spradling Prestage; and a brother, Kelly Wade Prestage.
Pallbearers will be Larry Pate, San Weatherford, Judy Nabors, Mary Gosa, Jo Bates, Drew Homan, Luzerne Wheeler and Jack Creely.
Her body will in repose from 9 to 10 a.m. today at Fulton United Methodist Church.

PACE, Fla. – John Benjamin Foreman, 52, formerly of New Albany, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at his home. He was self employed before becoming disabled in 1993. A devoted Christian, he attended the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Bald Hill in Union County and Pace Assembly of God in Pace, Fla.

RIPLEY – Olene Hodum Meeks, 81, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born June 26, 1931, to Ernest and Minnie Mathis Hodum. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Plaxico of Ripley; two sons, Billy Wade Meeks (Vickey) of Ripley and Timmy Keith Meeks of Ripley; one sister, Babyzene Box of Ripley; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Wade Meeks; one sister, Overa Waldon; and two brothers, Virgil Hodum and J.W. Hodum.

VINA, Ala. – Patricia Ann Blackburn, 55, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born June 12, 1957, in Red Bay, Ala., to Z.L. and Mildred Scott. MYRTLE – Ralph W. Smithey, 75, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at his residence. He was born Aug. 19, 1937, in New Albany to Enoch Troy Smithey and Lola Bell Wingo Smithey. He was a retired employee of Masterbilt. He loved farming, garden work and tractors. He was a member of the Pooleville Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at United Funeral Service Chapel in New Albany with Bro. Larry Harrison and Bro. Alvie Isaac officiating. Burial will be in the Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beverly Smithey of Myrtle; seven daughters, Terri Howell (Jimmy) of Myrtle, Beth Ray (Harry) of Myrtle, Rhonda Franklin (Jeff) of New Albany, Marsha Hill of Nashville, Tenn., Connie Fulmer of Gray, Tenn., Tammy Smithey of Myrtle and Jane Howell of New Albany; a sister, Laura Mae Irwin of Blue Mountain; a brother, Dale Smithey of Myrtle; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

NETTLETON – Guy A. Green, 71, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 23, 1941, in Monroe County to Thomas R. and Evie Hester Green. He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County. He was a veteran of the Mississippi Army National Guard 1st 108th How Battery in Nettleton, serving during the Oxford conflict. He was a former employee of Reed’s Manufacturing in Nettleton for 40 years. He was a Baptist, a Mason and a 32nd degree Shriner. He was a member of the Dixie Iron Antique Tractor Club and the Nettleton Hunting and Fishing Club. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing, and riding four wheelers, and he was an avid collector of John Deere tractors, model airplanes and model trains.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with Bro. Tommy Whaley and Bro. Rob Sargent officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Worthey Green of Nettleton; one brother, Tyson Green (Peggy) of Nettleton; one sister-in-law, Eloise Rollins (Jim) of Verona; three nieces, Melissa Kingsley (Lawrence), Kim Hester and Sonja Bates; one nephew, Chris Green (Ginger); one great-niece, Amber Hester; five great-nephews, John Hester, Cody Hester, J.C.
