TUPELO – Russell Wayne Hussey, 54, died suddenly at his residence in Tupelo on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013. He was born on June 22, 1958, in Nettleton, to Charles and Bessie Fowler Hussey. He graduated from Nettleton High School in l976. He married his sweetheart, Pam D. Nichols on March 3, 1979, in Hamilton, Ala. They had made their home in Tupelo the last 12 years. He was longtime affiliated with the furniture industry for many years and, at his death, was employed as Logistics Manager for J.I.T. Services. He was an active and engaged member of the Word of Life Church in Tupelo, where he was the drummer in services. He had a love of music all his life, especially southern gospel. He served many years as a member of the fabled Landmark Quartet, where he played drums. He loved the rivers and waterways of this area and was an avid boater. An admirer of all things Miss. State, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother and his legacy of providing and caring for his family was a gift from God for all.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Word of Life Church at Cliff Gookin Blvd and Thomas St. with Pastor Tommy Galloway and the Landmark Quartet officiating. His son, Chris Hussey, will represent the family with personal reflections. Private burial will follow in Chesterville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Pam Hussey of Tupelo; his son, Chris Hussey (Amy) of Tupelo; four daughters, Chelsea Aycock (Hunter), Chelly Garrett (Darius), Cherie Hussey (fiance, Nick Denoran) and Kristin Eads (Billy), all of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Abby Hussey, Emery Hussey and Beckett Aycock; a brother, Mack Hussey (Vicki) of Fulton; a sister, Dot Waycaster (Gwyn) of Ridgeland; his mother in law, Ruth Nichols of Tupelo; father in law, Orville Nichols (Nell) of Lewisburg, Tenn; his extended family at Word of Life Church; and the Landmarks and their fan base all over the South.
Pallbearers will be the Landmarks and Bob Plunkett.
Visitation will be from 1 PM-service time today at the Church.

TUPELO – Linda Ann Hogue, 56, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at her residence. She was born in Mississippi on Oct. 4, 1956, to James and JoAnn Swindoll Clark. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She worked with the railroad and locally at Shipley’s Donuts. She enjoyed writing and playing the piano and was an avid frog collector.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Pastor Robert Garland officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Survivors include her mother, JoAnn Clark of Tupelo; her brother, Larry Clark (Loyce) of Nettleton; and her sister, Bobbie Jo Elmore (Steven) of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Hogue; her three sons, Donald Jason Gatlin, Donnie Lee Gatlin and James Leonard Gatlin; her sister, Mary Jane Farmer; and her father, James Clark.

BRANDON – The Rev. Rudy Vallee James, 82, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Veteran’s Hospital in Jackson. He was born Oct. 27, 1930, to Van. D. and Annie Lon Paseur James in Tippah County. He was a Baptist minister for more 40 years and a veteran of the United State Air Force, servicen during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Thornhill Baptist Church.
Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McBride Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lyndle Davis officiating. Burial will be in Criswell Cemetery with Military Honors.
He is survived by sons, William James (fiancee, Teresa) of Brandon, Tommy Joe James of Corinth and David James (Debra) of Ripley; stepsons, Harold Given of Natchez and William Givens of West Helena, Ark.; sisters, Hazel Horton (Bobby Guyton) of Tiplersville, Ginger Brown (Alphia) of Falkner, Bettye Ray of Heber Springs, Ark., Gladys Miller (Danny) of Ingomar, Judy Robertson (Donald) and Jane Cross (Joe), both of Falkner; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren.

CALHOUN CITY – Roy Gaskin, 66, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at his residence. He was born June 7, 1946, and was retired from Kellwood Company.

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. – Helen Ruth Newman Miller died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at the Collierville Dove Health and Rehab Nursing Facility. She was born March 13, 1923, in Baldwyn to Richard Wesley and Lil Norman Newman. She graduated from Baldwyn High School and attended Mary Washington University. She came to Memphis, Tenn., July 5, 1943, and married William George Miller in 1949. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and later at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church, where she was a devoted servant of the Lord. She became administrator for the Mary Galloway Home Assisted Living for Women and managed the home for many years. In her later years, she became a resident of the Mary Galloway Home, continuing to inspire the many people whose paths she crossed.
Graveside services will be held at noon Tuesday at the Baldwyn Masonic Cemetery in Baldwyn, with the Rev. David Carroll officiating.
She is survived by her son, William George Miller Jr. (Donna) of Charleston, S.C.; a daughter, Melanie Lynn Miller Moss (Ken) of Collierville, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Hailey Newman Moss and Kathryn Marie Moss; a grandson, Jordan Wesley Miller; and a multitude of beloved cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William George Miller; and sister, Margaret Louise Newman.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Collierville Funeral Home in Collierville.

NEW ALBANY – Eloise Helen Little, 86, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Tippah County, to Kirby Bishop and Velma Clark Bishop. She was a retired employee of Benchcraft where she worked as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed garden work, sewing, quilting, eating out and tractor pullings. She was a member of the Wells Chapel Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at United Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Cooper and the Rev. Michael Lumpkin officiating. Burial will be in the Wells Chapel Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Randy McDaniel (Lisa) and Gary Little (Elaine), both of New Albany; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee R. “Goobe” Little; a daughter Marcie Little; and two brothers, Brooks Bishop and Bill Bishop.

FULTON – John Richard Pierce, 74, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at his home. He was born Sept. 16, 1938, in Itawamba County to Prentiss and Trudie Harden Pierce. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Bean’s Ferry Church of Christ. He worked for the Itawamba County Times, Air Cap, theAmory Advertiser, Alabama Labels, Pro Graphics and Mantachie Printing. He loved farming, going to the coffee shop and spending time with his family and coffee buddies.

SALTILLO – Billy Edwin Franks, 72, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at his home. He was born May 31, 1940, in Itawamba County, to Elgar Lee and Sarah Sheffield Franks. In his earlier years, he was a customer service manager at Rockwell International. In his later years, he owned and operated his own business. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

HAMILTON – Nelda Malone Pickle, 82, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was born Dec. 10, 1930, to Cleve Malone and Celia Smith Malone, in Monroe County. She was a lifelong resident of Hamilton, where she was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Hamilton High School and a member of New Prospect Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Jana Lynn Haggerty (Michael) of North Plainfield, N.J.; one son, Ron Lundy Jr. (Susan) of Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandchildren, Mark Haggerty of Long Beach, Calif., and Erin Haggerty of North Plainfield, N.J.
