William Pate
TUPELO – William H. “Buddy” Pate, 83, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A Lee County native, he was born Aug. 4, 1929, to the late Floyd and Josie Raper Pate. A U.S. Army veteran, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved all sports and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a member of Tupelo Church of God.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Jack Ezelle and the Rev. Rodger Smith officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include one son, Joe Pate (Debbie) of Wildwood, Mo.; three grandchildren, Kaci Pate of Wildwood, Mo., Jonathan Pate (Hailee) of Knoxville, Tenn., and Kiersten Pate of Tupelo; three sisters, Opal Parker (Gordon) of Shannon, Ova Joe Hall of Plantersville and Dovie Pate of Tupelo; and two brothers, Gerald Pate of Aberdeen and Mark Pate (Betty) of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Frances P. Pate in January 2001; one son, Dennis Pate; one grandaughter, Jessica Pate; two sisters, Marie Kent and Elizabeth Sanders; three brothers, Floyd Jr., Jackie and Mike Pate.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Kent, Roger Sanders, Larry Patterson, Jeremy Pate, Will Pate and Jackie Lynn Pate. Honorary pallbearers will be T.L Herring, Jimmy Sanders, Jimmy Dale Payne, Roger Franks, Jerry Grubbs and Wayne Hood.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 1800 W. Main Street, Tupelo, MS 38801, American Lung Association, P.O. Box 2178 Ridgeland, MS 39158 or a charity or church of your choice.

Ida Prather
BLUE MOUNTAIN – Ida Louise Prather, 65, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at her home. She was born April 3, 1948, in Ripley. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She worked at Biltrite Corp for 29 years.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. James Howell officiating. Internment is at Ruckerville Cemetery in Falkner. Foster and Son Funeral Home of Ripley in charge of services.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jessie Prather; daughter, Vanessa (Ricky) Cowan; sons, James (Brenda) Prather, Micheal (Heather) Prather, Gregory (Elana) Prather and Shane (Jennifer) Prather; sisters, Eloise (Zean) Prather, Shelia Turnage, Zolia Burns, Elaine (Willie) Robinson, Katherine Robinson, Roxanne (Tom) Jackson, Patricia Harper and Linda (Rev. James) Howell; brothers, T.C. (Mary) Rucker and Charles Rucker; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, D.C. Rucker; brother, Jimmie Rucker; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is noon to 8 p.m. today with family hour beginning at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to services at the church.

NETTLETON – James H. Conwill, 88, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton.

Shirley James
GLEN – Shirley Ruth James, 70, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at Baptist Memorial East in Germantown.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Burial is at Forrest Memorial Park.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

CORINTH – Pat Marolt Dill died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at her residence.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Bruch Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is 5 to 9 today and noon until service time Tuesday all at the church.

Bennie Keller
COLLINSVILLE – Bennie Faye Wood Keller, 78, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at her home. She was born June 27, 1935, in West Point to Lester Mayhall Thayer and Benjamin Rex Wood. She was a librarian for the Carnegie and Bryan Public Libraries in West Point for 47 years and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a 1953 honor graduate of West Point High School. She went to work at Carnegie Library in 1954 and worked 47 years before she retired. She worked 30 years of that time for Mrs. Esther Pippen in the library, who was like family to her. She loved people and all those that frequented the library. She moved to Collinsville after retiring to be near her daughter and family and had nine happy retirement years. She married James Lewis Keller on March 7, 1953, in West Point.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Alan Garbutt officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery West Point.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, James L. Keller of Collinsville; one daughter, Janice Bryant (Jody) of Meridian; one grandson, Dr. Joe H. Bryant III ( fiance’, Tira Adams) of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; one stepsister, Almarita Clark (Doug) of West Point; two nieces, Joyce Thompson (Dr. Don) of Florence, Ala., and Joe’l Thompson of Birmingham, Ala.; two nephews, Jack Clement (Dawn) of Florence, Ala., and J. C. Clement III (Patsy) Belmont; and a special cousin, Amelia Ginn of Golden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Alvalene Clement.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Plunkett, Earl Sanders, Joe Pat Lannon, James Fowler, Bill Ladd and Billy Harmon. Honorary pallbearers will be Caradine Young, Kenny Dill, Dr. John D. Voss, Dr. Jimmy Moore, Tom Rice, Ann Sanders, Maria Lebron, Billy and Jimmie Avent, Susan Punkett, Mike and Ada Booker, Ester Pippen, Jimmie Ivy, Gordon Pettit, Rusty Adams, Gay Joyner, U.G and Frances Booker, Maudine Fowler, Maurice Boswell, Bobby Lannon, Jo Beth and Reggie Beech, Ed and Faye Curtiss and the Class of 1953 West Point High School.

Dustin Pannell
HOLLY SPRINGS – Dustin Randall Pannell, 20, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at Med in Memphis, Tenn. He was born Sept 5, 1992, in New Albany, to Randal Gene Pannell and Wanda Forester Gurley.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Holly Springs Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Childress officiating. Burial is at Byhalia Cemetery.
He is survived by his mother, Wanda Gurley of Byhalia; father, Randy Pannell of Holly Springs; sisters, Emily Rhea of Holly Springs and Stacy Connelly of Olive Branch; grandparents, Arthur “Pete” Pannell and Kay Annette Pannell, both of Holly Springs.
He was preceded in death by his uncles, Dean Forester and Pancho Pannell; and grandparents, James “Red” Forester and Mary Chestene Pannell.
Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lillie Goodwin
WATERFORD – Lillie Holland Goodwin, 73, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is at Waterford Cemetery.

RIPLEY – Billy Joe Moffitt Sr., 77, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by McBride Funeral Home in Ripley.

Lucile Terry
SOMERVILLE, Tenn. – Lucile Abernethy Terry, 90, formerly of Algoma, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Dove Convalescent Center in Collierville, Tenn.
Service is noon Tuesday, July 2, at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church in Memphis. Burial is at Hood Cemetery in Somerville, Tenn. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home of Somerville is in charge of arrangements.

Florine Walker
PONTOTOC – Florine Walker, 67, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a caregiver at Senior Services. She was a Christian and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, at New Hope Baptist Church with Bro. Jody Rock officiating. Burial is at New Hope Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Donnie Walker; sons, Randy (Tabatha) Walker and Ray (Tammy) Walker; granddaughters, Brandy (Whitt) Stewart and Haylee Walker; sisters, Maggie Wilson, Havis (Manuel) Quintana, Betty (Jerry) Freeman, Amy McGolfin, and Virgina Bailey; and brother, Lamar (Betty) Westmoreland.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Earline Hester and Mozelle Westmoreland; and brothers, J.C. Westmoreland and Charles Westmoreland.
Pallbearers are Johnny Hopper, Michael Hopper, Dennis McGloflin, Tommy Gregory, Tommy Parker, Jerry Higginbotham, Manueal Quintana, Leon Wilson and Matt Collins.
Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Genie Henning
CORINTH – Genie Henning passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Grayson-Porter’s Mortuary.

Craig Rutledge
TUPELO – Craig Rutledge, 79, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Green Houses at Traceway. A Tippah County native, he was born Aug. 19, 1933, to James Henry and Sarah Wade McCoy Rutledge. He retired from insurance sales after 48 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed working as a bus driver for Tupelo Public Schools. He was a long-time member of West Main Church of Christ where he led the singing for many years.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Jefferson Street Chapel with Bro. Doug Greenway officiating. A private family graveside will be held at 4 p.m. at Tiplersville Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Craig Rutledge Jr. (Nancy) of Dalton, Ga.; two daughters, Carol Lumsden (Ben) of Abbeville and Cindy Parker of Tupelo; four grandchildren, Drew and Natalie Parker, Kaleb and Keegan Thornton, all of Tupelo; one sister, Betty Rutledge of Tiplersville; and one brother, Bob Rutledge (Jane) of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 54 years, Ginny Rutledge.
