Lois Williams
MYRTLE – Eva Lois Raines Williams, 75, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County. She was born Aug. 22, 1934, to Joe Pinkey Raines and Flossie Blackard Raines. She was a retired cafeteria employee for West Union School. She was a member of the Poolville Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Funeral Service Chapel in New Albany with the Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Burial will be in the Enterprise Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Churchill (Freddie) of Pinedale and Tracie Speck (Hugh David) of Poolville; two sisters, Flora Coughran and Ina Todd, both of New Albany; two brothers, Boswell Raines of Poolville and James Coleman Raines of Etta; three grandchildren, Melissa Foster (Ian), Heather Parker (Josh) and Austin Speck; and five great-grandchildren, Makenna, Chloe, Dylan, Kyla and Coen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Minnie Joe Grubbs and Francis Hall; and a brother J.L. Raines.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Earnestine Grays
SALTILLO – Earnestine Grays, 90, died Thursday, July 8, 2010, at her home in Saltillo. She was born April 21, 1920, to Sonny Montgomery and Obie Gordon. She was a farmer and she later went on to work as a school cafeteria cook for a number of years before retiring. She was a member of Poplar C.M.E. Church in Saltillo, where she was president of the stewardesses, an usher and a choir member.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Poplar C.M.E. Church in Saltillo with Pastor Clara Royster officiating. Burial will be in Porter’s Memorial Garden in Tupelo. Agnew & Sons Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one sister, Lula Mae Gaston of Saltillo; one brother, Bill Montgomery of East St. Louis, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Erma Jean Montgomery of East St. Louis, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Grays; her parents; and one sister, Troy Harris.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today with the family hour from 5 to 6 p.m. today. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.

Jewell Kelly
TUPELO – Jewell Irene Kelly, 95, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born on Dec. 11, 1914, in Lee County to Walter and Vergie Phillips. She attended Poplar Springs School. She lived most of her life in the Chesterville community. Mrs. Kelly was the oldest member of Chesterville Baptist Church, where she had been a faithful member for 50 years. She taught Sunday school for many years and in 2006 was honored by her church as “Woman of the Year.” She loved quilting and cooking, and she was a member of the Belden Baptist Church Quilters. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved to take care of her grandchildren. Anyone who knew her understood that throughout her life, she worked to honor God.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Chesterville Baptist Church with Bro. Don McCutchen and Bro. Sammy Coker officiating, and her grandson, Gary Campbell, delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the Old Union Cemetery at Belden. Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Campbell of Chesterville; six grandchildren, Gary Campbell (Teresa) of Endville, Kelly Fiske (Chuck) of Pontotoc, Paige Jamison (Brent) of Pontotoc, Lynn Patton (René) of Selma, Ala., Betsy Kelly of St. Louis, Mo., and Tommy Kelly (Amy) of Guntown; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norbin B. Kelly; three sons, Tommy, Tee and David Kelly; a daughter, Linda Page; a grandson, Brian Kelly; and three brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers are Tommy Kelly, Lynn Patton, Greyson Campbell, Chase Robinson, Brock Puckett and Brent Jamison.

Mildred Kendall
BOONEVILLE – Mildred I. Kendall, 93, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Landmark Nursing and Rehab Center after an extended illness. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Booneville. She was owner/manager of Rees Court Café for over 25 years. She was a former president of the Booneville Ladies Civitan Club and served as a volunteer at the Booneville Hospital. She enjoyed playing Spite and Malice cards with her friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Hankins and Bro. David Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in Booneville Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Barnett of Olive Branch; three sons, Larry Kendall (Joyce) of Booneville, Ed Kendall of Baldwyn and Ray Kendall (Pat) of Hernando; one sister, Aldene Mobley of Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Steve Barnett, Leana Gargus, Ricky Way, Robert Way, Renee Duffy and Steve Williams; 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl E. and Ethel M. Zimmerman Punke; her husband, Dale Kendall; one sister, Vera Stimpert; two brothers, Gene Punke and Bob Punke; one granddaughter, Ginger Howard; one son-in-law, Jerry Barnett; and one daughter-in-law, Ruby Kendall.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Way, Richard Way, Robert Way, Ryan Way, Steve Barnett and Zach Williams.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Friday.

ABERDEEN – Theresa Jayne White Dahlem, 52, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in Conroe, Texas. She was born March 10, 1958, in Aberdeen to Robert Ovid White and Lonie Jane Miller White. She lived most of her life in Aberdeen and the past three years in Conroe, Texas. She graduated from Aberdeen High School. She was a caregiver for the elderly.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with the Rev. Harrison Upshaw officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Robert Jeremy Lane Smith of Conroe, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Brenda White of Aberdeen and Phyllis White of Conroe, Texas; a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Stephen White and Larry White.
Pallbearers will be Shea Cain, Timothy White, Hank White, Steve White, Anthony White, Anthony White Jr., Jeremy Smith and Daniel Martin.

POTTS CAMP – Sandy Dale Byrd, 45, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. He was born Nov. 20, 1964, in Holly Springs to Travis Byrd and Martha Mae Fuller Byrd. He was a Baptist and a mechanic.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethany Baptist Church with Bro. Donald Worsham officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery at Potts Camp. Holly Springs Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Jamie Reese Byrd of Potts Camp; one son, Sandy Byrd Jr. (Marcy) of Sherman; two daughters, Michelle Byrd and Jacqueline Byrd, both of Potts Camp; one brother, Terry Byrd (Betty) of Holly Springs; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gary Byrd, Terry Byrd Jr., Brett Whaley, Ricky Taylor, Jeff Hoskins, Joseph Deleon, Joe Clayton and Dustin Oliver.

FULTON – Crystal Earnest Presley, 30, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, in Lee County.

Earl Evetts Jr.
CORINTH – Earl “Peewee” Evetts Jr., 70, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at his home. He was born in Corinth to the late Earl Sr. and Myrtle Smith Evetts. During his life he worked for the City of Corinth for several years before moving to Selmer, Tenn., where he began working in maintenance for the Selmer Street Department, from which he retired. He enjoyed fishing, just being outdoors and above all, spending time with his family. When he wanted to relax, he got out and mowed the yard, often several in the neighborhood.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth with Bro. Travis Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Forked Oak Cemetery near Cairo.
He is survived by two daughters, Tania Morgan and her husband, Carthel, and Shelia Wilkins and her husband, Edward; three stepdaughters, Cynthia Hughes and her husband, Ronnie, Debbie Gurley and her husband, Billy, and Janice Winters; two brothers, George Evetts and his wife, Jewel, and Clayton Evetts and his wife, Jane; two sisters, Elizabeth Meszaro and Juanita Shelley; four grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myra Lavoun Miller Evetts; three brothers, James, Melvin and an infant, Flavis; an infant sister, Victoria; and two nieces, Dienese Singleton and Wanda Flemming.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time Friday.

PEARL – Brenda Lee Boyce, 40, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at her home in Pearl. She was born Oct. 31, 1969, in Houston to Curtis Michael Boyce and Sandra K. Blankenship Boyce. She was a paralegal.
A graveside memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens in Houston with Billy Free officiating.
Survivors include her mother, Sandra K. Boyce of Houston; her father, Mike Boyce of Houston; her brother, Michael Boyce of Dallas, Texas; her grandmother, Clara Mae Boyce of Houston.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Claude and Lucy Blankenship, and George C. Boyce.
