PONTOTOC – Clemmie Isbell, 79, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at the Pontotoc Nursing Home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc.
TISHOMINGO – James D. Dean, 83, died Saturday, June 30, 2012. Burial was in Tishomingo Cemetery. Ludlam Funeral Home in Iuka is in charge of arrangements.

HOLLY SPRINGS – Roger James Sr., 86, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Alliance HealthCare System in Holly Springs.
Service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Yarbrough Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs. Internment is in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home in Holly Springs in in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. today at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home in Holly Springs and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
GUNTOWN – Chase Nobles, 7, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at the Le Bonheur Childrens Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Waters Funeral Home.
PLANTERSVILLE – Flozell Rogers died Thursday, June 28, 2012. He was born May 11, 1934, to Charlie and Mary Rogers. He graduated from Nettleton High School. He was a retired service technician. He was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Plantersville.
Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Shelton officiating. The body will lie in repose an hour before the service. Internment is at Canterhill Cemetery. N.L. Jones and Son Funeral Director is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his daughter, Demetria (Tyrone) Hayden of Plantersville; sons, Ronnie (Barbara) Rogers of Plantersville, Aarthur (Inda) Rogers of Guntown and Martell Rogers of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Ethelene (James) Mabry of Tupelo; brothers, Celee (Mary) Rogers of Phoenix, Ariz., and Obry O’Neal (Martha) Rogers of Plantersville; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Brown; his parents; and brother, Cedell Rogers.
NETTLETON – Bessie Fay Cooper Burt, 81, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Amory. She was born on Sept. 2, 1930, in Itawamba County, to James A. and Emma Lee Kate Winchester Cooper. She was a lifelong resident of Itawama County, a factory worker and a house sitter for several ladies. She was a Methodist and enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and taking care of her grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail Conwill (Eugene) of Nettleton and Jan Mattox (Don) of Tishomingo; one son, Kelly Burt of Nettleton; 10 grandchildren, Angela Conwill Wright (Steve), Jessica Conwill Coker (Brian), Maggie Mattox, Josh Mattox (Amanda), Denise Jones (Davis), Nicole Howard (Steven), Kayla Burt, Tonya Farris, Jammie Hankins and Emily Chandler; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Burt; her parents; son, James R. “Jimmy” Green; and sister, Pasty R. Terry.
Pallbearers will be Johnny C. Brown, Walter White, Eugene Conwill, Josh Mattoz, Don MAttox and Jimmy Conwill.
Visitation will continue from 8:30 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

BELDEN – Ronnie Hughes, 59, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Jan. 19, 1953, to Roy Lee and Hilda Brown Hughes. He was a recording engineer and had been a D.J. for local radio stations. He was a computer and electronics wiz and playing the guitar and singing was his favorite thing to do. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with the Rev. Ray Rooney and the Rev. Danny Wilburn officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery North of Belden.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Simmons Hughes of Belden; one daughter, Angela Lee Palmer (Chris) of Saltillo; one sister, Wanda Joseph (Charles) of Van Vleet; and one brother Wayne Hughes (Shirley) of Belden.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Betts, James Williams, Cal Smith, Mitchell Hughes, Mark Hughes and Larry Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be J. C. Burks, Johnny Simmons, Jimmy Langley, Sonny Turner, Robert Chaney and Tim Richey.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

TUPELO – Sonya R. Barnett, 47, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born July 19, 1964, in Lee county, to Nathaniel Barnett and Forestine Marshall Barnett. She was a member of Mt. Nebo C. M. E. Church in Baldwyn.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Nebo C.M.E. Church with the Rev. Carl Z. Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Nebo cemetery in Baldwyn. Agnew and Sons Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of arrangement.
Survivors include, one daughter, Contessa L. Barnett of Tupelo; two sisters, Shelia Grove and Rita Stubbs of Baldwyn; and two brothers, Derrick W. Barnett of Tupelo and Donald W. Barnett of Booneville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Joe L. Barnett.
Visitation is from 1-5 p.m today at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.

HOLLY SPRINGS – Mingo Balfour, 83, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab in Holly Springs. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home in Holly Springs.
PHEBA – Betty Jo Foster, 80, died June 30, 2012, at Waverly Care Home in West Point. She was born May 1, 1932, to Jeffie Henry Harpole and Robert Harpole. She had worked at Monte Glove as a machine operator for a number of years. She was member of Pheba Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir. She was a caring giving person to all those in the community. She loved her family and what she did at home, as well as doing for others. She married Earley Smith Foster on May 29, 1951, in West Point.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery Cedar Bluff.
She is survived by her husband Earley S. “Slick” Foster of Pheba; daughter, Kay Foster Baird (Tim); son, Myron Foster (Linda), all of West Point; four grandchildren, Tona Fulton, Tennille Baird Portera, Whitt Foster, and Mallorie Baird (Trevor Gore); seven great-grandchildren, Lindsey Fulton, Avery Fulton, James Fulton, Foster Portera, P.J. Portera, Carson Foster and Lilah Claire Foster; sister, Bobbie Lou Sizemore (Harper) of Pheba.
Pallbearers will be David Foster, Jeff Foster, Will Foster, Scott Foster, Wayne Foster, Craig Foster and Perry Goodson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Tipton, Sonny Sizemore, Eddie Strickland, Hiram Millsaps, Bobby Champion, Aubrey Foster, Robert Champion, Warren Sizemore, Tim Sizemore, Butch Childs, Friends in the Pheba Community, Staff of NMMC-West Point, Dr. Edmund A. Miller, Jr., and Staff of Waverly Care Home.
