TUPELO – Maynard Neal, 87, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at his residence in the Auburn community after an extended illness. A Birmingham, Ala., native, he was born June 30, 1926, to Robert Alva and Emma Tankersley Neal. He was a World War II veteran and a Dale Carnegie Course graduate. He was a member of the Tupelo Blue Lodge 318. He loved to create computer programs and work on family vehicles. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Private graveside services with Masonic rites were held Sunday, July 28, at Lee Memorial Park. Sammy Lansdell officiated. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lydia Neal of the Auburn community; three daughters, Sherelle Neal Funderburg (Fred) of Millington, Tenn., Helen Neal Sappington (Glen) of Pontotoc and Forest Neal Sparks (Jerry) of Tupelo; one son, Maynard Carrson Neal (Lisa) of Plantersville; six grandchildren, Sherri Funderburg Petticrew (Richard) of Wrangell, Alaska, Lori Funderburg Walker (Aaron) of Knoxville, Tenn.,, Cindy Sappington Phyfer (Paul) of Sacramento, Calif., William Brant Sappington (Brittany) of Booneville, Kellen Carrson Neal (Diane) of Southaven and Laura Neal Young (Andrew) of Monroe, La.; and six great-grandchildren, Spencer and Presley Petticrew, Liam and Asher Sappington, and Wesley and Hamp Phyfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Damon, Henry, Gordon and Robert Neal Jr.; two sisters, Bessie Kozlowski and one infant at birth.

CORINTH – Annie Rivers Spillers Pannell, 81, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Mississippi Care Center in Corinth. She was born Feb. 28, 1932, to Clarence E. and Rena A. Dunlap Spillers. She attended Jesus Name House of Prayer. She was a housewife.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scotty Downs and Bro. Will Downs officiating. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park in Corinth.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Taylor (Wally) of Blue Mountain; two sons, Dennis Pannell (Tracy) of Ripley and William Pannell (Tammy) of Kossuth; one sister, Virginia Thompson of Olive Branch; six grandchildren, Samuel Taylor, Heath Pannell (Libby) and Billy Pannell (fiancée, Brittney Downs, Mikeal Pannell (Heather), Matthew Pannell (Madison); and one great-grandchild, Delilah Faith Pannell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Milton Pannell; three sisters, Evelyn Hudson, Lorena Berryhill and Willie Mae Raines; and two brothers, Harvey Eugene and Robert Matthew Spillers.
Pallbearers will be Heath, Billy, Mikeal and Matthew Pannell, Tanner and Will Downs. Honorary pallbearer will be Harold Raines.

SULLIGENT, Ala. – Julia Baker McCarley, 92, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Generations of Vernon. She was born Sept. 9, 1920, in Jefferson County, Ala., to Oliver and Myrtle West Baker. She was a graduate of Greenwood Springs School in Mississippi. She worked in clothing retail for 47 years at Fine’s Department Store in Sulligent. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of Sulligent First Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 29, at Otts Funeral Home Chapel in Sulligent, Ala. Burial will follow in Sulligent City Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy (Donald) Harrison of Greenwood Springs; one brother, Grady (Johnnie) Baker of the Bartahatchie community; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mack McCarley; and three sisters, Hazel Evans, Lois Gurley and Vivian Smith.

WEST POINT – Floyd Robertson Sr., 93, died Tuesday, July 23, 1013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. A lifelong resident of West Point, he was born Dec. 17, 1919, to Prosingle Robertson and Annie Strong Robertson. He was a veteran, and a former farmer and construction worker.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today, July 29, at St. Robinson M.B. Church with the Rev. Elbert Lee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include six daughters, Phenella Marble, Mary Ivy, Ethel Brown, Willie Henderson (Jimmy), all of Prairie, Barbara Lenoir (Alexander) of Aberdeen and Loretta Box (Joe) of West Point; three sons, Robert Robertson (Bertha) of
Detroit, Mich., Willie Mack Robertson (Maggie) of Chicago and Lloyd Robertson (Sandra) of Tupelo; and a host of grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ella Haynes; a daughter, Georgia Mae; a son, Floyd Jr.; sons-in-law, Lee Dale Marble and Sterling Ivy; and daughter-in-law, Betty Jean Robertson.
HOUSTON – Isabella “T” Orr McIntosh, 94, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at her residence. She was born March 29, 1919, to Dan and Mary Ida Roseburgh Orr in Prairie. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Houston.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Pleasant Plain M.B. Church with Rev. Joe P. Orr officiating Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Williams Memorial of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Alma Tumblin and Carrie Echoles (Frank), both of Houston, and Lois Ware (Booker) of Houlka; three sons, Walter McIntosh Jr. (Willie) and J.T. McIntosh, both of Benton Harbor, Mich., and Willie
McIntosh (Lois) of Houston; a sister-in-law, Rudy Orr; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert; and four grandchildren.
