BOONEVILLE – Lorraine Burns, 89, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, at the funeral home.
Nona Davis
OXFORD – Nona Mae Davis, 90, died July 3, 2010, at Graceland Nursing Home in Oxford. She was a Methodist and a seamstress.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Holly Springs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Holly Springs. Holly Springs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Davis of Collierville and Sammy Davis of Alabama; one daughter, Patricia Skelton of Collierville; three sisters, Marie McGregor of Randolph, Zelma Buser of Chickasha, Okla. and Inez Horton of Ecru; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Davis

DULUTH, Ga. – William Bobby Baggett, 71, died Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Emory Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, Ga.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay. Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay is in charge of arrangements.
Sarah Poff
MEMPHIS – Sarah Francis Poff, 84, died July 3, 2010, at Methodist Central. She was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Ashland to Luther Miller and Carrie Crouch Miller. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bluff Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Farron Ash officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Springs Cemetery in Ashland. Holly Springs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Poff and Larry Poff, both of Memphis; one daughter, Patricia Poff of Olive Branch; four brothers, Granville Miller, John Miller, Doc Miller and Bob Miller, all of Memphis; three sisters, Patsy Mills of Southaven and Vereen Clark and Mary Scoggins, both of Memphis; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Robert Poff.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Geneva Vines
ABERDEEN – Geneva Pace Vines, 60, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at her home in Aberdeen. She was born Jan. 24, 1950, to Thomas Franklin Pace and Ethelene Eads Pace in Columbus. She was a life long resident of Monroe County. She graduated from Aberdeen High School. She retired as office manager at Jitney Jungle. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11a.m. Tuesday in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with the Rev. John Maxey and the Rev. Dennis Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Stan Vines and wife, Mary and Keith Vines and wife, Kim, both of Aberdeen; her mother, Ethelene Eads Pace of Aberdeen; one sister, Wanda Thompson and husband, Bill of Baton Rouge, La.; one brother, Richard Pace and wife, Mary Ann of Aberdeen; eight grandchildren, Logan Vines, Zade Vines, Mackenzie Vines, Chad Cowart, Loxie Ballard, Lucas Moye, Levie Moye and Meaghan Vines; and one great-granchild, Aniston Vines.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Bro. Arthur Wayne Vines; and one brother, Robert Earl Pace.

OXFORD – Amy Dell Spencer, 97, retired employee of the B and I Complex in Oxford and the Oxford High School Cafeteria, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at her son’s home in Oxford. Born in Lafayette County, she was the widow of Mr. Roscoe L. Spencer. She loved to work with her flowers and enjoyed cooking with her great-grandchildren. She was a member of Anchor Baptist Church.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Anchor Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Shook officiating. Burial will be in Pine Flat Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, James A. “Jack” Spencer and his wife, Elaine of Oxford; one sister, Irene Brummett; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

James McCord
HARMONY – James M. McCord, 97, died Sunday, July 4, 2010, at Church Street Personal Care Home in Ecru. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He retired from the Pontotoc Electric Power Association and then worked at Graceland Nursing Home and the Pontotoc Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Junior Ritchie and Dr. Ken Hester officiating. Burial will be in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife Phelma Faulkner McCord; one sister, Marie M. Dowdy (Maymon); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther B. McCord and Margaret Jane “Jennie” Bigham McCord; his first wife, Mary McCarver McCord; his sister, Florence Anderson; and his three brothers, Leo McCord, Samuel McCord and Clyde McCord.
Pallbearers will be Mike Martin, Sam Hall, Dennie Martin, Denny McCord, Tony McCord, Larry Anderson, Don Russell, Ben Russell and Pat Patton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Judge Fred Wicker’s Sunday School Class and PEPA employees.

Robert Speed Jr.
WEST POINT – Robert M. “Bobby” Speed Jr., 72, died June 29, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. He was born Nov. 9, 1937, in Georgetown to Erlene Calvert Speed and Robert Marion Speed Sr. He was a bank officer for Bank of Mississippi for a number of years. He was well known and respected as the Clay County Tax Appraiser from March, 1984 until he retired in January, 1991. He was of the Methodist faith and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany for several years.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Shannon officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his sister, Dr. Eloise S. Norton of Georgetown, Texas; his brother-in-law, Kamil S. Kassees of West Point; two nephews, Terrance Dennis Norton and Owen Anderton Norton; and one niece, Robin Meirer.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Speed Kassees.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Naugle, Max Hinshaw, Bobby Smith, Wilson Lippencott, Terry Norton, Andy Norton, Kamil S. Kassees and Tom Meier.

RED BAY – Wilma Morrow Wilson, 78, died Sunday, July 4, 2010, at ECM Hospital in Florence, Ala. She was born July 8, 1931, in Vina to Sid and Vernon Horton Morrow. She was a cafeteria worker for Vina High School for 25 years and a member of Vina First Baptist Church in Vina.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Vina First Baptist Church with Bro. Rodney Shewbart, Bro. Brad Hill and Bro. Steve Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in Berry Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three children, Debbie Thorn (Wayne) of Red Bay, Donnie Wilson (Kim) of Vina and Kathy Smith (Bobby) of Tupelo; five grandchildren, Mandy Davis (Brian), Sydney Manasco (Ryan), Chrissy Farr (Zac), Meagan Wilson and Josh Thorn; five great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Wilson of Red Bay and Eyvon Parker of Red Bay; four sisters-in-law; and special members of the family, Terry Wilson (Rita) of Vina, Lowell Humphres (Mary Ann) of Vina, Beth and Brad Hill of Tupelo and Brandi and Rodney Shewbart of Knoxville, Tenn.
