Nova Tackett
NETTLETON – Nova Jo Roebuck Tackett, 86, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born Nov. 10, 1925, in Nettleton, she was the daughter of the late Loyd and Ruby Blake Roebuck. She grew up in the Cason community and attended Pine Grove School, where she played basketball. She married Jessie Lee Tackett, who preceded her in death in 2005. She worked at Amory Garment Company until her retirement. She was a faithful member of her community, attending “The Gathering” at Carolina Methodist Church each month and was faithful to her church, Cason Baptist, where she was a member of the Senior Citizen Group. She loved her Lord, family and everyone, always thinking of others before herself. Enjoying the beauty life she watched the birds, her dog BooBoo and her adopted dog, Jack. Especially enjoying the mountains, Nova always said she had never seen an ugly tree. Nova loved going on picnics, outdoor outings and Old Time Gospel Music. She enjoyed visiting with friends, gardening, working in her flower beds and collecting bears.
Survivors include her sons, Billy Joe Tackett and Tim Tackett, both of Amory; sisters, Juanita Christian of Amory and Katherine Duckett of Tupelo; four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and her twin brother.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11 a.m. today, July 9, 2012, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Whaley, Bro. Shane Crawford and Bro. Mike Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phil Burks, Mike Baggett, Canaan Griffin, Mike West, John Mabry and Rickey Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Roberts, Herchel Hood, Charles Pierce, James Dykes, Barry Thrasher, Kenneth Swan, Johnny Brown, Bimbo Griffin, and friends of TEPA in Tupelo and Fulton.
Visitation will continue until time for the service to begin.

Maxine Grisham
LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. – Maxine Grisham, 91, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at her home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Margie Hatfield
BOONEVILLE – Margie T. Hatfield, 80, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Liberty Memorial Garden.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Louise Ford
TUPELO – Louise Whitworth Berlin Ford, 85, formerly of Corinth, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born July 22, 1926, in Tishomingo County to Shelby Blythe Whitworth and Ethel Pace Whitworth. She was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church in Tupelo and a former member of First Methodist Church in Corinth. She retired as executive director of the Alcorn County Chapter of American Red Cross.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Brooks officiating and Terry Bullard delivering the eulogy. Burial will be at Forest Memorial Park in Corinth. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Ellis Ford; one daughter, Lynda Bullard (Terry); stepsons, Greg Ford (Farris Dawn) and Danny Ford (Naomi); grandchildren, Whitney Ueltschey (Marcus), Rebecca Goldman (Justin), Katie Ray (Talmadge), Garet Ford (Casey), Grant Ford (Janell), Summer Bowers (Richard); great-grand children, Sarah Caroline, Ben Luke and Sam Ueltschey, Graham and Jake Goldman; special friends, Drs. Osvaldo and Marta Hans; special caregivers, Delois Caruthers, Ann Pulliam, Pat Thompson, Minnie Ivy and Kathy Riddle; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.

Mary Frost
BALDWYN – Mary Frost, 70, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Waters Funeral Home of Baldwyn.
Chad Grantham
SALTILLO – Chad Lee Grantham, 37, died Saturday, July 7, 2012. A Heidelberg, Germany, native, he was born Oct. 1, 1974, to Willard Grantham and Barbara Scott McLarty. He worked for Century Construction Co., where he was employed as a truck driver. He loved to go fishing, camping and doing his yard work.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors.
Survivors include his wife, Chisty Grantham of Saltillo; three children, Leslie, Alissa and Zack, all of Saltillo; one sister, Machelle Raper and Clay of Saltillo; his parents, Willard Grantham Jr. of Cleveland, and Barbara McLarty and Ron of Saltillo; his grandparents, Bo and Kay Bohannon of Ripley, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Willard Grantham III; and his grandparents, Willard and Ethel Grantham.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Saltillo Chapel.

Jimmy McMillen
FULTON – James Robert “Jimmy” McMillen, 64, died Saturday, July 7, 2012. He was born July 8, 1947, in Tupelo to James and Tommie Jones McMillen. He enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren and his dog. He was a truck driver before his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fulton.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Senter Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Dr. Ken Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Garden. Senter Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy McMillen of Fulton; one daughter, Pamela Carlin (Randy) of Huntsville, Ala.; three grandchildren, Dustin Johnson (Sarah), Hope Rushing and Chase Rushing; two great-grandchildren, Riley Miller and Maylee Johnson; and his best friend, Mary Taylor.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jamie McMillen and Mickey Johnson; and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Danny Smith, John Franks, Johnny Hopper, Joseph Taylor and Cole Falls.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Senter Funeral Home.

Reba Riley
NETTLETON – Reba Taylor Riley, 93, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born Jan. 9, 1919, she was the daughter of the late James Ira and Etta Mellissa Carter Taylor. She never met a stranger, everyone was her friend. She attended Greenwood Springs Schools and was employed in the garment industry, working at Monroe Trouser and Amory Garment Company for 60 years. She married Albert Riley, who preceded her in death. Spending time with her family, caring for her dog, and loving her church family were important to her. She was a faithful member of Cason Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 50 years, was the church clerk for many years, a member of WMU, and loved singing in the choir. She enjoyed gospel and bluegrass music, traveling on bus tours, gardening, yard work, sewing, cooking, her retirement and her marriage to Albert.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Adams (George Adams Sr.) of Nettleton; her son, Jimmy Riley (Barbara) of Nettleton; grandchildren, George Adams Jr., Johnny Adams, Thomas Adams, Glenda Adams Webster, Timothy Jenkins, Anthony Jenkins, James Taylor Riley, April Riley Cook and Krystal Riley; great-grandchildren, Michael Adams, Meghan Webster, Gavin Adams, Brooklyn Adams, Silas Adams, Chelsea Jenkins, Jeana Jenkins, Liam Taylor Riley and Adian Tate Riley; great-great-grandchild, Cohen Michael Adams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two great-grandchildren, Emily Grace Jenkins and Riley Clay Kuykendall.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. today at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Crawford and Bro. Jim Manley officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be George Adams Jr., Johnny Adams, Thomas Adams, Tim Jenkins, Anthony Jenkins and Taylor Riley. Honorary pallbearer will be Mel Webster.
Visitation will continue until time for the service to begin.

Lonnie Allen
MOSCOW, Tenn. – Lonnie Herbert Allen, 29, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, in a motor vehicle accident in Marshall County.
Services were Saturday, July 7, at Peebles West Funeral Chapel in Oakland, Tenn. Burial was in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Moscow, Tenn.

IUKA – Greg Dawson, 51, died Friday, July 6, 2012, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Betty Wood
CALHOUN CITY – Betty Jewel Wood, 58, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Jan. 30, 1954, in Vardaman. She was a retired cook for Nancy’s Restaurant in Calhoun City and a member of Trinity Bible Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City with the Rev. Jimmy Vance officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Scott (Kimberly) Wood of Calhoun City; one daughter, Regina King of Calhoun City; brothers, Jimmy (Linda) Gaskin of Big Creek, Durell (Mavis) Gaskin of Calhoun City and Roy (Agnes) Gaskin of Calhoun City; one sister, Carolyn White of Calhoun City; sister-in-law, Joe Gaskin; grandchildren, Austin (Kali) King, Justin Lyle and Don Wood; special fried, Jimmy Leonard; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James K. Vardaman Gaskin and Daisy Leigh Estelle Goodwin Gaskin; husband, Don Wood; special friend, Bill Taylor; brothers, Pete Gaskin and Joe Ed Gaskin; and sister, Helen Hill.
Pallbearers will be Austin King, Jim Gaskin, Kevin Gaskin, Keith Gaskin, Steven Nicks, James Gaskin and Joe Simmons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Edmonson, Randy Gaskin, JJ Jobe, Corey Vance, Billie Joe Gaskin, James Warren and Lee Warren.
Visitation will be from noon to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
