FULTON – Sandra Kaye Taylor Hamilton, 61, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Oct. 2, 1951, to Vardie and Bessie Taylor. She was a Christian. She worked as a cashier, a factory worker, and she babysat one of her grandsons until becoming disabled. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going on cruises and to the mountains with her three traveling partners.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today, June 13, at Senter Funeral Home in Fulton. Bro. Tommy Whaley and Bro. Don Hammons will officiate. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery.

She is survived by daughters, Tina (Jay) Glover of Somerville, Tenn., Tonya (David) Archie of Fulton; son, Greg (Amy) Neighbors of Fulton; 10 grandchildren, Sarah Davis, Jonathan Archie, Jennifer Wilson, Tyler Archie, Kayla Turner, Chelsea Neighbors, Gregory Neighbors, Justin Archie, Dustin Archie, Preston Neighbors; six great-grandchildren, Ethan Wilson, Kaleb Davis, Macie Wilson, Kullen Davis, Kameron Neighbors and Bryson Turner; sisters, Minnie Jean (Irwin) Borden, Willadean Ashworth; brothers, Adoyal (Neal) Taylor, Danny (Bonnie) Taylor, Franklin (Bonnie) Taylor; a special niece, Liz Davis; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Vardie Taylor; her mother, Bessie Taylor; and brothers: Bo Taylor, Pete Taylor and Bud Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Archie, Tyler Archie, Gregory Neighbors, Justin Archie, Josh Davis and William Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Irwin Borden, David Henry Taylor and Gary Davis.

TREMONT – Joyce Lavelle Crouch Hale, 75, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at Courtyards Community Living Center in Fulton. She was born Feb. 18, 1938, to Wilbur Crouch and Ozell Pierce Crouch Silas. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church. She enjoyed her flowers and children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping at yard sales.

Services were Wednesday, JUne 12, at Senter Funeral Home in Fulton. Bro. Eugene Stockstill officiated. Burial was in Asbury Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, W.C. Hale of Tremont; sons, Terry (Jaunita) Hale of Tremont and Kenny (Teri) Hale of Marietta, Ohio; brother, Jerry (Brenda) Crouch of Tremont;j three granddaughters, Holli (Matt) Stanford of Tremont, Brooke (Matt) Ewing of Fulton and Karen Hale of Tremont; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carylon Crouch of Tremont.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Crouch; her mother, Ozell Pierce Crouch Silas; a brother, Billy Wayne Crouch; and her stepfather, James Carville Silas.

RIPLEY – Iva Collier Manning, 91, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at DeSoto Healthcare Center in Southaven. She was born Oct. 6, 1921, to Joe Hill and Martha Addieline James Collier in Tippah County. She was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Services were Wednesday, June 12, at McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley. Bro. Bill Baker officiated. Burial was in Tippah Memorial Garden in Ripley.

She is survived by one daughter, Patsy Manning Hill (Marshall) of Hernando; one son, Stanley Manning (Vicky) of Tupelo; two grandsons, Mark Hill (Jackie) of Hernando and Dustin Manning of Tupelo; two granddaughters, Julie McDaniel (Darrell) and Jennifer Pourciaux (Jamie), both of Hernando; five great-grandchildren, Katie McDaniel, Kyndall, Anna Leigh and Morgan Pourciaux, and Ella Hill, all of Hernando; one sister, Joyce Bernice Smith (Jim) of Bartlett, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Collier of Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Olin Manning; her parents; three sisters, Ethel Collier Conner, Hattie Collier Jones and Lornette Collier Burns; and five brothers, Ernest, Newton, Nathaniel, Vance and Lee Earl Collier.

Dorothy Felder

WEST POINT – Dorothy Ray Reed Felder, 90, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mandeville, La. She was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Oktibbeha County to Georgia Lee Justice Reed and Raymond Bell Reed. She was graduate of Mississippi State University, where she earned her master’s degree in education. She was a fifth grade schoolteacher for the West Point Public School System for 29 years. Early in her teaching career she taught at Pheba and while a military wife, she taught schools in the Boston area before returning to West Point. She married Kelly Rufus Felder on Dec. 9, 1944, at the Pheba Baptist Parsonage. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1966. She loved her family and friends and she was a wonderful friend and neighbor. She was an active member at First Baptist Church in West Point. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed West Point High School Green Wave baseball and basketball and once was awarded the WPHS Booster Club Best Fan award. She spent many hours enjoying MSU sports with friends. She was a member of Martha Chapter 53, Order of the Eastern Star. She was active with the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. She was also a charter member of the Alpha Iota Chapter that was chartered May 8, 1976, of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, a professional honorary society of women educators. After retirement she worked as a Pink Lady at North Mississippi Medical Center and gave freely of her time for work at the Food Pantry.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Funderburg officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Felder Jones (Bill) of Mandeville, La.; three grandchildren, William A. Jones II, Kelly Jones Montgomery (Randall) and Brittany Jones Bruner (Michael); three great-grandchildren, Reed Anderson Montgomery, Molly Evelyn Montgomery and Arden Kelly Montgomery; her brother-in-law, William Eickel of Metairie, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Lewis Reed Felder, on Oct. 16, 1965; and her brother and sisters, Byron Reed, Lucille Reed Love, Lois Reed Clark and Virginia Reed Eickel.

Pallbearers will be William A. Jones II, Randall E. Montgomery, Michael Bruner, Doug Necase, Bill Love and Laymon Watson.

BOONEVILLE – Nonie Marion Ward, 89, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Booneville. She was born July 28, 1923, to William Dempse Hunter and Dana Cayce Hunter. She was a member of the West Booneville Church of Christ. She was a volunteer at Booneville Hospital for several years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today, June 13, at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Baggett and Bro. Jerry Trimble officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

She is survived by two sons, William “Bill” Ward Jr. of Litchfield, Ariz., and Bert (Becky) Ward of Booneville; one brother, William “Bill” (Shirley) Hunter of Redding, Calif.; one sister, Bettye Harris of Topeka, Kan.; one sister-in-law, Louise Hunter of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter-in-law, Annette Ward; eight grandchildren, Jodie Carroll, Shawna (Larry) Morgan, Marilyn Rojas, T.J. (Carolyn) Carr, Lara (Ben) Winton, William “Dub” (Shayna) Ward, Ryan (Season) Ward and Katie Ward; eight great-grandchildren, Shelby, Cate, Josie, Evan, Richard, Will, Adelynn and Hunter; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William “Bill” Ward Sr.; two daughters, Sandra L. Carroll and Dana Carr Baggett; and one brother, Walter Hunter.

GUNTOWN – Martha Dean Davis, 84, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Home Place in Saltillo. She was a retired bookkeeper and office clerk for Hays Construction. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Guntown for more than 50 years. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing and cooking.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Bro. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in the Campbelltown Cemetery.

She is survived by four children, Gail Langner (Bob), Dan Davis, Bob Davis (Kathy) and Chip Davis, all of Guntown; grandchildren, Caroline Upthegrove, Davis Irwin, Chasity Young, Jimmy Young, David Langner, Deanna Gable, Daniel Davis, Lee Davis, Brett Davis, Bailey Davis and Hunter Davis; eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. “Billy” Davis; and her parents, Lee and Cora Lee Wood Bailey.

ABERDEEN – Bobby Earl Swindall, 45, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was a member of Cedar Grove M.B. Church. He was sergeant-at-arms for the Knight Rider Motorcycle Club. He worked at BASF for 13 years and later at Holley’s for one year. He currently worked at Axall. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, basketball and the Chicago Bears football team.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Johnson Chapel Holiness Church in Aberdeen. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Church Cemetery. Belle Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
