Erma Miller

PONTOTOC – Erma I. Miller, 81, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center of Tupelo.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc. Justin L. Gates will officiate. Burial will be in Pontotoc City Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by three sons, Larry G., Michael D. and Mark A. Miller; three grandchildren, Douglas N. Miller, Angela Hamm and Anna Buckner; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin E. “Red” Miller.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Donnie Lambert

CORINTH – Donnie Ray Lambert, 58, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at his home.

There will be no service. Burial will be at Liberty Church of Christ Cemetery. Corinthian Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Billy Joe Luttrell

IUKA – Billy Joe Luttrell, 77, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Burial will be in Rutledge Salem Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Anderson

BALDWYN – Robert W. Anderson, 79, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at his residence in Baldwyn. He was born Dec. 9, 1933, in Prentiss County to John and Myrtle Calomese Anderson. He was employed by Tommy Brooks Oil Co. for many years. He was a member of the Deacon Board and served as Sunday school superintendent of Springhill M.B. Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Mt. Nebo CME Church in Baldwyn with the Rev. Isaac Shinault officiating. Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery in Baldwyn. Agnew and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Alice J. Anderson of Baldwyn; four daughters, Beverly (Charles) Bradley of Tupelo, Theresa (Avery) Smith, Pattie Shelley of Baldwyn and Dr. Melissa (Darren) Mims of St. Louis, Mo.; two sons, Barry (Tammy) Anderson of Baldwyn and Julian Anderson of Tupelo; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert E. Anderson; one grandson, Gordon Bradley; and two great-grandchildren, Emily Gates and Aiden Smith.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family hour from 5 to 6 p.m.

CORINTH – Richard Ellis Reeves Sr., 76, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at his home.

Naomi Toland

HOUSTON – Naomi Jean Smith Toland, 77, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born April 20, 1936, in Houston to William Terry Smith and Laura Lee Park Smith. She was a retired sales clerk for Shasco and a member of Houston First United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Houston Funeral Home in Houston with the Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Burial will follow at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens in Houston. Houston Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Dendy of Woodland; her son, Terry and Linda Kay Toland of Houston; her grandchildren, John William Laster, James Robert Laster, Raymond Laster, Rachel Dawn Toland, Anna Marie Toland, Jacky Knight, Christina Knight, Shaun Dendy and Chris Dendy; and her eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bobby Ray Toland.

Pallbearers are Raymond Laster, John Laster, James Laster, Rayburn Parks, Kenneth Wayne Scott and Scottie Criddle. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Chandler, Kenny Scott and Jerry Thompson.

Josephine Suggs

CALHOUN CITY – Josephine Smith Suggs, 91, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks in Verona. She was born Nov. 13, 1921, in Calhoun City to Eddie Leslie Smith and Beatrice Goodson Smith. She was a retired seamstress for Kellwood and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Lee of Southaven; one son, Scotty (Carolyn) Suggs of Belden; one sister, Rogenia Pollan of Calhoun City; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Suggs; a daughter, Pat Suggs Alexander; and her parents.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City. Bro. Buford Usry and Bro. Mike Whitten will officiate. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Calhoun City.

Pallbearers will be Brian Lee, Dean Lee, John Suggs Jr., Gene Alexander, D.J. Lee and Johnny Hawkins.

Charles Turpin

THAXTON – Charles Lee Turpin, 77, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at his home in Thaxton. Born in Lafayette County, he was a member of the National Rifle Association. He had nearly 30 years of sobriety with Alcoholics Anonymous.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim McMillen officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.

He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Turpin of Ecru and Tina Lease of Pontotoc; two sons, Richard and James Turpin of Pontotoc; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dean Bullard.

Keats Baldwin

PONTOTOC – Gerald Keats Baldwin, 79, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. He attended Mississippi State University. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a U.S. marshal for 21 years before retiring. He enjoyed his retirement and drinking coffee with the “Hardee” boys.

Services were Wednesday, June 26, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Bro. Sonny Smith officiated. Burial was in Immanuel Baptist Church Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shirley Brooks Baldwin; his children, Jerry Baldwin of Natchez, Elizabeth Wiedman of Gluckstadt and Robert Hudson of Blue Springs; grandchildren, Chris Baldwin Potts (Sam) of Kosciusko; Beth Baldwin Chamblee (Luke) of Jackson, Keats Baldwin of Atlanta, Ga., Georgia Wiedman of Gluckstadt, Jennifer Hudson of Blue Springs, Matthew Hudson (Britney) of Blue Springs; and great-grandchildren, Rachel, Burton and Sarah Potts of Kosciusko, Keaton and Linlee Chamblee of Jackson, and Levi and Mila Hudson of Blue Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theron Baldwin and Anita Baldwin.

Pallbearers were Keats Baldwin, Matthew Hudson, Sam Potts, Luke Chamblee, Mike Blakely and Ben Brooks.

Wilbur Todd

TUPELO – Wilbur Lee Todd, 89, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Traceway Manor in Tupelo.

A celebration of witness to the resurrection will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at First Presbyterian Church in Oxford. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be from noon to service time Saturday.

WEST POINT – George Washington Nash, 79, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at his home in West Point.

Paul Baskin

TREBLOC – Paul Revere Baskin, 97, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Care Center of Aberdeen, He was a retired farmer, an avid reader and fireside story teller, Some of his narratives are included in the book “Memories of Mississippi” by his daughter, Wanda Jackson, and have been adopted as a resource for the Civil/Human Rights Curriculum at McComb High School.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Macedonia M.B. Church in Trebloc. The Rev. John Cox will officiate. Burial will be in the Baskin/Cousin Cemetery in Trebloc. Belle Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge.

He is survived by five daughters, Emma (Evanston) Adair of Columbus, Ohio, Mary Robinson of Seattle, Wash., Lois Johnson of Chicago, Ill., Wanda (Rev. Charles) Jackson of Liberty and Gayle (Pete) Lowery of Terry; four sons, Curtis (Ora) Baskin of Kansas City, Mo., Wilbert (Irma) Baskin of Chicago, Nathan (Vera) Baskin of Chicago and David (Loretta) Baskin of Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.; and a special daughter-in-law, Christine Baskin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudie Bell; two sons, Lloyd and Willie Paul; three brothers, Giles, Nathan Jr. and Tommy; and three sisters, Susie, Lillie Mae and Maude.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
