RIPLEY – Malone Clifford Pannell, 89, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Rest Haven Nursing in Ripley. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Ripley Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
HOLLY SPRINGS – Sidney L. Hurdle died Saturday, March 9, 2013, after a lengthy illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Marshall County. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and the University of Mississippi School of Law. He was a rural land developer, with projects in Mississippi, Ohio, and numerous other states. He was an attorney and once served as attorney for the Marshall County Board of Supervisors. He was a veteran and a member of First Baptist Church of Holly Springs.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Holly Springs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
He is survived by three sons, Lanier Hurdle, Mike Hurdle, both of Holly Springs and Frank Hurdle of Oxford; six grandchildren, Sidney Lanier “Sy” Hurdle III, Jamie Hurdle Ammerman, Cayce Hurdle, Jesse Hurdle, Albert Sidney “Ash” Hurdle, and Lucy Karr Hurdle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Burch, Jason Burch, Joshua Ammerman, Sy Hurdle, Jesse Hurdle and Ash Hurdle.

PLANTERSVILLE – Bobby Kent Clark, 79, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House. He was a member and former deacon of First Baptist Church of Plantersville. He was born April 6, 1933, in Bolivar, Tenn. He served one tour in Korea with the Tennessee National Guard, served one tour in Korea and one tour in Vietnam with the U.S. Army Combat Engineers, and retired after 20 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49. After his military service, he retired from Sears Roebuck as an appliance repairman.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Danny Balint officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Evelyn (Hutchinson) Clark; his sons, Paul Kent Clark (Charlotte) of Birmingham, Ala. and Roy Allen Clark of Madison; five grandchildren, Alexis (Emmitt) Taylor of Jackson, Britt (Jared) Jones of Decater, Ga., Morgan Clark (Shanuna) of Hamilton, Jennifer (Ronnie) Self of Pontotoc, and Billy (Andrea) Earnest of Hamilton, Ala.; nine great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Trey and Ryan Taylor, Lydia and Emerson Jones, Myles Clark, Tyler and Paul Self, and Noah Earnest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W. Anderson Clark and Mary Ivy Lightfoot; brothers, William (Buddy), Linwood, and Herbert; and sisters, Estelle and Ruth.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church of Plantersville, Tommy Jackson, Marty Davis, Thomas Craft, Phil Griffin, Gene Williams, Chubby Jeffcoat and Joe Thompson.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

TUPELO – Louise Austin Kelly, 98, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at her home in the Briar Ridge community. She was born Aug. 28, 1914, to Isaac Luke and Lou Ella Austin in Corinth, where she spent her early years. After moving to Tupelo, she met and married Woodrow W. Kelly, celebrating 61 years of marriage. They were co-owners of Kelly’s Grocery for many years.
She was a charter member of Allen’s Chapel Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school before her health failed. She loved to fish and work in her flowers. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a wonderful cook.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Sammy Washburn and Bro. Robert McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Gilvo Cemetery. A two hour visitation will be held prior to services.
She is survived by two daughters, her primary caregiver, Shirley Turner (Joe) and Pat Barber (John); one son, Steve Austin Kelly; one daughter-in-law, Janie Kelly (Ben Kelly, deceased), all of Tupelo; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Kelly; her parents; one son, Ben Kelly; one granddaughter, Lesa Kelly; and one daughter-in-law, Shirley Kelly.
Pallbearers will be Terry and Woody Turner and Jason and Dale Kelly, grandsons, Dylan, Josh and Clint Kelly, great-grandsons.

HAMILTON – Danny Larry Rea Jr., 44, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, in Columbus. He was born June 1, 1969, in Aberdeen to Danny Larry Rea Sr. and Ruth Gail McGee. He had lived most of his life in Lowndes County and the last three years in Alabama. He worked at Tronox for the past 10 years as a supervisor. He was a member of Fig Hill Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fig Hill Church with Bro. Ricky Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in Fig Hill Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Perrigan Rea of Ethelsville, Ala; parents, Danny and Brenda Rea of Hamilton; three daughters, Ashley Rea of Columbus, Jessica Rea of New Hope, and Kyleigh Rea of Temple, Texas; one son, Bradley Rea of Columbus; one half-sister, Tamera Jones and husband, John, of Tremont; two grandchildren, Preston King and Anna Belle King.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruthie Rea; and a brother, Walter Grady Rea.
Pallbearers will be family.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today the church. The body will lie in state at the church from visitation until service time.

BALDWYN – Ethel Oliver 64, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility in Baldwyn. She was born April 8, 1948, to Rayford and Alberta Hawkins in Belzoni. She was a member of Sand Hill M.B. Church in Baldwyn.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Sand Hill M.B. Church with the Rev. Danny Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Agnew & Sons Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include four sisters, Frances Woodard of Belzoni, Beatrice Anderson (Johnny), Bonnie Humphrey (Larry) of Milwaukee, Wis. and Francine Williams (Oliver) of Arlington, Texas; one brother, Raymond Hawkins (Mary Jean) of Belzoni; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Oliver; and three sisters.

BOONEVILLE – Betty Hatten Hodges, 74, of Booneville, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Oct. 12, 1938, to Huey and Gladys Jackson Hatten. She retired as vice president of United States National Bank in Galveston, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Russell Lormand officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Renee’ Taillon of Memphis, Michelle Jackson of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Erin Hernandez of Dallas, Texas; four sons, Andrew “Jack” Julian of Bacliff, Texas, James “Jim” Lee, Jody Brown, both of Booneville, and Eugene Lee of Seattle, Wash.; four sisters, Nelva Ryals of Corpus Christi, Texas, Sue Odom of Pascagoula, Ruth Young and Catherine Stewart, both of Booneville; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman David Hodges; and her parents.
Visitation will begin at 11a.m. today and continue until service time at the funeral home.
