Mollie McKinley
HAMPTON, Ark. – Mollie Anna Suzy Victoria McKinley, 97, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at her home in Hampton, Ark. She was born Sept. 9, 1915, in McGehee, Ark., to Pearlie Keys Williams and Tom Williams. She attended school at St. Andrew in McGehee, Ark. She worked as a babysitter, housekeeper and cook. After retirement, she enjoyed helping out friends and family. She was a member of McGehee Chapel M.B. Church in McGehee, Ark., before moving to Hampton, Ark. She then joined First Baptist M.B. Church in Harrell, Ark. An active member, she served on both the Missionary and Pastor’s Aid boards. Her favorite pastime was witnessing about the goodness of the Lord. She never met a stranger, loved cooking and cherished her gift of hospitality. She spent her leisure time reading her Bible, missionary book and magazines, and spoiling her family.
Services will be at noon Saturday at First Baptist M.B. Church in Harrell, Ark. Burial will be in Palestine M.B. Church Cemetery in McGehee, Ark. Davis-Strickland Funeral Home of Dermott, Ark., is in charge.
Survivors include three daughters, Annie Pearl (JB) Stephens of Hampton, Ark., the Rev. Joanne (Rev. Larry Sr.) Cunningham of Belden and Gwendolyn (James) Cokeley of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Dorothy Vickers of McGehee, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a special niece, Thelma (Ricky) Williams of Pine Bluff, Ark.; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cephus McKinley; sisters and brothers; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to services Saturday.

Mary Ann Lee
SALTILLO – Mary Ann Hipps Lee, 76, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at her home after an extended illness. She was born Sept. 30, 1936, in Tupelo to Finus and Mable Hipps. She retired from Delta International and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. A Pentecostal by faith, she was Outreach director and a Sunday school teacher at Richmond Pentecostal Church for 25 years and attended Cedar Grove Pentecostal Church.
A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. today at Cedar Grove Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Rickey Pierce, the Rev. Sammy Raper and the Rev. Danny Robbins officiating. A private family graveside service will follow at Andrews Chapel Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include children, the Rev. Terry Lee (Kathy) of Tupelo, Tim Lee (Denise) of Saltillo, Jeff Lee (Marie) of Tupelo and Michelle Lee of Flowood; grandchildren, Cory Lee (Kimberly) of Tupelo, Matthew Lee (Brittany) of Baldwyn, Dakota Lee of Chicago, Ill., Rebecca Lee of Tupelo, Kevin Lee (Lindsey) of Saltillo, Kenneth Lee of Saltillo, Kristina Lee of Saltillo, Grant Lee of Nettleton, Beth Lee of Nettleton and Laken Suddeth of Nettleton; and great-grandchildren, Peyton Lee, Gabby Kate Lee, Colton Bishop Lee, Samantha Bass, Khole Beth Lee and GrayLee Kay Lee; two brother, David Hipps and Merle Hipps, both of Nettleton.
She was preceded in death by James Lee and her parents.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Cory Lee, Matthew Lee, Kevin Lee, Kenneth Lee and Grant Lee.

Bettye White
AMORY – Bettye Sue White, 63, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, in Tupelo. She was born Aug. 10, 1949, in Monroe County to Odell and Flora White. She grew up in Wren. She attended school in Amory and later she completed high school at Madison in Quitman County. She was a member of New Prospect M.B. Church of Nettleton. She completed a degree in law enforcement at Coahoma Community College. She was a former employee of Mississippi State Department of Correction. She was a friend to all, a loving mother to her children and an easy going person. She will be missed by all who knew her. She enjoyed shopping, fishing, reading and working on her computer.
A celebration of life service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at New Prospect Church in Nettleton, with the Rev. George Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in New Prospect Cemetery. Darden & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her mother, Flora White of Lambert; two sons, Timmy White of Delray Beach, Fla., and Reginal White of Columbus; three brothers, O’neal White and William White, both of Lambert, and Charles White of Greenwood; one sister, Dorothy White of Lambert; two grandchildren, Brianna White and Halley White; and a host of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Odell White.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 5 p.m. today and the family hour from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services on Saturday.

MT. PLEASANT – Wade Carl Jones, 52, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at his home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ on the Taska Road. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.

MEMPHIS – Earnestine Hoggs Bean, 75, formerly of Holly Springs, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at The Highlands of Memphis Care Home in Memphis.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kimbrough Chapel M.B. Church at Lamar. Burial will be in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.

OXFORD – Ira Manning, 71, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Graceland Care Center in Oxford.

PRAIRIE – Diane Hammond-Davenport, 56, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at OCH Regional Hospital in Starkville.

WEST POINT – Tonishai S. Shaffer, 30, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.

BALDWYN – Iva Evelene Swindle, 88, formerly of Baldwyn, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, in Pensacola, Fla.

Betty Vance
CALHOUN CITY – Betty Anne Sims Vance, 65, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born July 21, 1947, in Calhoun City to James Sims and Betty Murphy Sims. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City. Bro. Jimmy Vance and Bro. Danny Spratlin will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Calhoun City.
She is survived by three sons, Lee (Beth) Vance, Cory (Christie) Vance and Blake Vance, all of Calhoun City; two sisters, Francis (Joe) Nichols of Houston and Jill Joudan of Florence, Ala.; two brothers, David (Anita) Sims of Calhoun City and Jack D. Sims of Ecru; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild, Brady Todd Vance.
Visitation will be from noon to service time today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Robert Gary, Kent Parker, Aaron Sims, Darren Vance, Kevin “Buck” Langford, Shane Cook, Wayne Clanton and Clay West.

CORINTH – Cora Belle Mitchell, 81, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.

Charlotte Weeks
BRUCE – Charlotte Neal Weeks, 60, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at her home. She was born April 4, 1952, in Bruce. She was a graduate of Bruce High School Class of 1970. She was an active member of Bruce First Baptist Church and a member of Fine Arts Club of Bruce. She was a former nurse before starting a new career taking care of disabled children and adults. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in special education and later earned a master’s degree. She began her career in special education at Bruce Child Development Center for Calhoun County School System. After several years teaching there, she worked for North Mississippi Regional Center, where she was the director of Bruce Community Homes. She retired from the regional center after years of serving the needs of those less fortunate. She was truly dedicated to those who had special needs and was a advocate for those that she served. She will be missed by all of her friends and family and especially those who she served and dedicated her life to.
Services were Thursday, March 21, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Dr. Daniel Hathorne officiated, and Bro. Darrell Logan assisted. Burial was in Bruce Cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Donnie Neal Weeks (Jennifer) of Hernando, Bubba Weeks (Amanda) of Bruce and Cody Weeks (Emily) of Bruce; her mother, Janice Hasting Neal of Bruce; a sister, Donna Foster (Jimmy) of Pearl; a brother, David Neal (Valerie) of Pearl; seven grandchildren, Gracie Weeks, Maci Weeks, Swayzee Weeks, C.J. Weeks, Carter Cash Weeks, Jakob Gregory and Kaylee Baker; and a special friend, Mimi Eide of Olive Branch.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Neal.
Pallbearers were Joel Gray, Dr. Bruce Longest, Larry Mason, Benjy Parker, Josh Parker and Tony Ruth.

Lorene Lindsey
HATLEY – Lorene Ross Camp Lindsey, 94, died on Thursday, March 23, 2013, at her residence. Born on Oct. 10, 1918, in Hatley, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Loubelle Sugg Ross. She was a graduate of Hatley High School, Class of 1935. Retiring in 1988, she worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry. Guided by her faith, she was a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ and the Lady Bugs. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, flowers, and church hymns. Passionate about children, she enjoyed sewing bears for children that were distributed when they were hospital patients.
She is survived by her husband, James Odis Lindsey of Hatley; daughters, Gail Camp of Hatley and Lanora Demoran (Mike) of Vancleave; daughter-in-law, Patsy Tubb of Fulton; twin sister, Ellene Vaughan of Hatley; sister-in-law, Dathol Camp of Hatley; grandchildren, Jeff Camp (Jill), Todd Roe (Kristen), James Camp, David Camp (Shelly), Crystal Camp, Nikki Fowler, Lauren Camp, Michael Demoran Jr., Clayton Demoran, and Melanie Demoran; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sam and Becky Carpenter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Woodrow Camp; sons, Leslie and Tony Camp; grandson, Chuck Wiygul; sisters, Evelyn Parham, Retha Mae Lindsey and Loyce Nell Creely; and brother, Kenton Ross.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Marshall Eubanks Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be elders and deacons of Christian Chapel Church of Christ. Honorary pallbearers will be the Lady Bugs and Sam Carpenter.

ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. – Eunice Faye South Harper, 79, previously of Booneville, passed away on March 19, 2013, at Tri-County Healthcare Center in Adamsville, Tenn., after an extended illness. She was born on Nov. 21, 1933, to Isado and Annie Mae South. She had worked for a number of years in the local garment industry. She enjoyed being a homemaker, especially cooking and gardening.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
She is survived by three children, Carolyn Harper Pike (Jim), Rita Harper Hutto (Dr. John O.) and Eddie W. Harper (Roxanne); and five grandchildren, Jutson and Alexandra “Ally” Pike, and Emily, Ashley and John Jr. “Jay” Hutto.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett J. Harper; her parents; and one brother, Dexter Dean South.

Belle Cross
NEW ALBANY – Iva Belle Entrekin Cross, 89, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Graceland Care Center in New Albany. She was born Jan. 25, 1924, in Lawrence County, Tenn., to Joseph Grady and Lorene Kobek Entrekin. She married Thomas Eugene Cross on Oct. 14, 1943. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1998. She lived most of her life in Lawrence County before moving to New Albany in 2001. She enjoying crocheting and flower gardening. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shady Grove Church of Christ in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., with Mark McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. United Funeral Service of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her son, Tony (Collett) Cross; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Danny Allen, Quentin Allen, Shane Blackwood, Bruce Entrekin, Dereck Hale and Desmond Spears.

HOUSTON – James Timothy “Tim” Gann, 52, died Thursday, March 21, 2013. He was born March 3, 1961, in Chickasaw County to James Austin Gann and Deloise Ann Whitt Gann. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was a former truck driver. He was a member of Arbor Grove Baptist Church.
Service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home in Houston with Bro. Randy Rinehart officiating. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia Gann of Houston; one daughter, Jennifer Smith (Ben) of Lafayette, La.; two granddaughters, Adriana and Gabriella Smith of Lafayette, La.; his father, James Austin Gann of Houston; one sister, Sandy Gann Holm (Mike) of Monticello, Fla.; one brother, Wes Gann of Houston; and three nephews, Dayne Parker (Jenna), Bradley and Brandon Holm of Monticello, Fla.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Deloise Ann Whitt Gann; his grandparents, Miles and Dorothy Gann, and Allie and Mattie Whitt; and one uncle, Kenneth Gann.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bradley Holm, Brandon Holm, Dayne Parker, Brandon Lofton, Adam Lofton, Erick Lofton, Jerry Foster, Steve Holladay and Danny Sullivan.

Joseph Wilbanks
WALNUT – Joseph Collidge Wilbanks, 80, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was born March 30, 1932, in Brownfield to Allen and Rose Jones Wilbanks. He was employed at Gunter’s Supermarket in Tupelo for more than 20 years. He was a member of Grace Apostolic Church in Middleton, Tenn.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Community Pentecostal Church in Walnut. Bro. Gary Porterfield and Bro. Travis Wilbanks will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McBride Funeral Home of Ripley is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by two sons, Travis Wilbanks (Lisa) of Pocahontas, Tenn., and Larry Wilbanks (Donna) of Walnut; two daughters, Tammy Yeach (Larry) and Angela Wilbanks (Jimmy), both of Walnut; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys May Sanders Wilbanks; his parents; one daughter, Debra Hodge; one son-in-law, Johnny Hodge; and several brothers and sisters.
His grandsons will serve as palblearers.

Wilbert Lindsey
SHANNON – John Wilbert Lindsey Jr., 69, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Dec. 29, 1943, to John Wilbert Lindsey and Earline Townsend. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Trustee Board and the male chorus and president of the Brotherhood. He received his education from the Shannon schools. He retired from Foamax after 35 years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis McKinney officiating. Williams Memorial of Okolona is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mattie Buchanan Lindsey of Shannon; one daughter, Earline Carouthers of Tupelo; one stepdaughter, Gwendolyn Buchanan of Shannon; one son, Wilbert Terezz Lindsey (Jameda) of Walls; four sisters, Aglean Ford (Wardell), Eloise Rogers (John) of Okolona, Flora Gates of Dunkirk, N.Y., and Nancy Thompson (James) of Shannon; stepsisters, Erie Mae Lee of Shannon, Laura Williams of Verona, Helen McConner and Annie Williams of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Lillian Hampton; four brothers, Andrew Lindsey, Rev. Earnest Lindsey, Freddie Lindsey Williams, all of Shannon, Curtis Williams (Mary) of Dunkirk, N.Y.; two stepbrothers, Lonzo Williams of Shannon and Roger Williams of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

TISHOMINGO – Kathy Ruth Poole, 58, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born Sept. 24, 1954, in Itawamba County. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with people, never met a stranger and she loved being around kids.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forrest Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry George, Bro. Hal Holt and Bro. Matthew Haney officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Grove Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are her husband, David Joe Poole of Tishomingo; son, Jeff Poole of Tishomingo; mother-in-law, Eulene Poole of Tishomingo; one brother, Joe Ewing (Peggy) of Dennis; four sisters, Betty Haney of Dennis, Linda Taylor (Jerry) and Angie Ewing, all of Tishomingo, and Donna Roberts (Curtis) of Tupelo; three nieces, Michelle Goddard, Deanna Debbs and Katelyn Ewing; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; three stepnephews, Brian, Jason and Wesley Roberts; and three special friends, Phyllis, Elizabeth and Pam.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theman Orville Ewing and Mattie Ruth Wilson Ewing; a son, Scott Poole; a brother, Bobby Ewing; a brother-in-law, Donnie Haney; a great-nephew, Nick Spigner; and her father-in-law, J.J. Poole.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Michael Haney, Jonathan Haney, Jason Taylor, Daryl Ewing, Ben Spigner and Randy Goddard. Honorary pallbearers will be John Dabbs, Jerry Taylor, Curtis Roberts and Dexter Rosser.

Keith Cosby
BELMONT – Keith Cosby, 54, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at ECM Hospital. He was born March 15, 1959, in Iuka. While attending high school he was an auxillary deputy and then became a dispatcher for Colbert County Sheriff’s Department. He was former police officer for the city of Cherokee and Leighton and former police chief for the city of Red Bay. He had been an employee of Deaton Funeral Home since 1995. He will be missed by many including his cat, Punkin.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mynot Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay, Ala., will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Betsy Cosby of Belmont; four sisters, Karen Hunt (Dwight) of Cherokee, Ala., Nancy Sumerel (Earl) of Huntsville, Ala., his twin, Kathy Hendrix of Burnsville and Tammie Moore (Mike) of Town Creek, Ala.; one brother, Bobby Cosby of Cherokee, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Cosby Jr. and Elsie Black Cosby, and a brother-in-law, Harold Hendrix.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Hunt, Jared Hunt, Mark Cosby, Mike Moore and Earl Sumerel. Honorary pallbearers will be Elzie Malone, Jeff Wooten, Billy P. Sartain and Dwight Hunt.

HURRICANE – Murry Neil Montgomery, 55, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at his residence. He was a member of Sand Springs Community Church. He graduated from North Pontotoc High School in 1975 and attended Itawamba Junior College. He graduated from the University of Mississippi, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in education. He taught school for a total of 34 years. He taught chemistry, physics, and at the Alternative School and had been the Pontotoc County Drug Education coordinator. He enjoyed photography, sports, tennis, chess and spending time with his family.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sand Springs Community Church with the Rev. Charlie Ransier and the Rev. Troy Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his sister, Sondra McGann of Sale Creek, Tenn.; one brother: Tranny Montgomery (Zelda) of Hurricane; a sister-in-law, Jerry Ruth Montgomery; three nieces, Becky Montgomery Tutor, Nicole Montgomery Simmons and Beth Montgomery Wray; three nephews, Nathan Montgomery, Michael McGann and Mac McGann; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews, Emma, Ben, Leah, Luke, Dalton, Savannah, Makenzi, Natalie and Stone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Thurman Montgomery and Eura Faye Benjamin Montgomery; his brother, Johnny Montgomery; and a niece, Natalie Montgomery Bailey.
Pallbearers will be Jason Wray, Nathan Montgomery, Mac McGann, Michael McGann and Shane Montgomery.
The visitation will be at Sand Springs Community Church from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.

ANDALUSIA, Ala. – Hazel Bain, 82, formerly of Red Bay, Ala., passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Andalusia Manor in Andalusia, Ala.
