Billy Miller
CONYERS, Ga. – Billy J. Miller, 76, died Thursday, March 28, 2013. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired trucker. He had lived in Conyers for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Miller of Conyers; son, Billy Miller Jr.; daughter, Susan Karlish; grandchildren, Nicole Miller and Brittany Cowan; great-grandchild; stepchildren, Patsy George, Teresa Atkinson, Tom Middleton and Jacki Middleton; 11 stepgrandchildren; brother, Ralph Miller; sisters, Reba Bichslich and Doris Bayless; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Linda Miller; brothers, Raymond and Wayne Miller; and infant daughter, Peggy Ann Miller.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Carey Springs Baptist Church in Randolph with Bro. Junior Richey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Scot Ward Funeral Services of Conyers, Ga., is in charge of the arrangements.

OXFORD – Dorothy Jean Britt, 77, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Services are at 2 p.m. Monday in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Antioch Cemetery in Pontotoc County.

David Mills
BATESVILLE – David Webster Mills, 64, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at his home. He was born in Chickasaw County, to Felix Webster and Marion Ruth Helm Mills. He was a real-estate business owner and a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. He loved his family, his country, the great West and horses.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Pepper, the Rev. Frank Davis and the Rev. Don Locke officiating.
Visitation is noon until service time at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Gean Mills of Batesville; two stepdaughters, Tracey Mooneyham of Oxford and Robin Nail of Oxford; stepson, Kelly Lyles (Shanna) of Oxford; sister, Marilyn Mills Beach of Jackson; brother-in-law, Stephen L. “Buffy” Beach of Jackson; two brothers, William “Terry” Mills of Oxford and John Michael “Mike” Mills (Judy) of Batesville; nephew, Felix T. Mills of Batesville; two nieces, Addy Mills of Okinawa, Japan and Allison Beach of New York, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren.

Bobby Clark
WREN – Bobby W. Clark, 75, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Riverplace Nursing Facility in Amory. Born Nov. 29, 1937, he was the son of the late Allen and Ethel Moss Clark. He married Ellen Finley in 1957. A lifelong resident of Wren, he attended and graduated from Wren School and retired from BNSF Railway as a conductor with over 40 years of service. He was affiliated with the Christian Church. He was the property coordinator at Coontail Cemetery. Being a railroader and having a caboose in his backyard, he enjoyed talking about his days on the railroad and reminiscing on days past, gardening, farming and being with his dog, Frisco. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Pop.” His greatest accomplishment was taking care of his wife of over 55 years, who had been sick for the last two years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 p.m. today at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. David Pannell officiating. Burial will follow in Coontail Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Finley Clark; daughter, Beth Gann (Tommy) of Wren; son, Joe Clark of Wren; sister, Carolyn Huffman; grandchildren, Caleb Gann, Leah Gann and Curtis Clark, all of Wren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Gann, Mike and Richard Huffman, and David Strawbridge. Honorary pallbearers will be his railroad buddies.

TUPELO – Willie L. Eddins, 73, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Holland Funeral Directors.
Hayden Burns
BOONEVILLE – James Hayden Burns, 78, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Nov. 12, 1934, in Booneville, to William Elton Burns and Ruth Borne Burns. He was a Baptist. He was a mechanic and auto body repairman. He enjoyed fishing, singing, woodworking and most of all, he loved the Lord and telling others about Him.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ricky Gattis and Bro. Scott Bridges officiating. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Jane Shook Burns, whom he married on Nov. 26. 1969; two sons, John Burns (August) and Bradley Burns (Christy), all of Booneville; two daughters, Betty Ann Wood (Bobby) of Tishomingo and Balinda Moore (John) of Booneville; two brothers, R.B. Burns (Virginia) and Stanley Burns (JoAnn), all of Thrasher; a sister, Dean Harris (Maxel) of Booneville; seven grandchildren, Matthew Norris, Blake Norris, Douglas Burns, Andrew Moore, Coye Burns, Alex King and Mary Grace Burns; and his mother-in-law, Mildred Shook.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers are Frank Ryan, Billy Joe Copeland, Mark Shook, Larry Shook, Greg Burns and Richard Franklin. Honorary pallbearers are Mitch Campbell, Donald Thomas, Lee Dye, Chris Moreland, his six grandsons and Dr. Lydon Perkins.

Billy Herron
AMORY – Billy Brooks Herron, 70, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at his residence in Amory. He was born Dec. 31, 1942, and was a son of Millie Moore Herron. He grew up in and attended school in Lamar County, Ala., and was of the Baptist faith. He served with the Army National Guard for 15 years, was a truck driver, patrol officer in Hatley and Amory, security guard at True Temper Sports and an equipment operator for Monroe County Road Maintenance. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, working on stuff, eating out with family and friends and watching westerns on TV.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Herron of Amory; daughter, Sherry Burrough of Amory; sisters, Helen Otts Greene of Sulligent and Mary Sue Gosa of Athens community; grandchildren, Carlos L. Magallon (Brandy), Juan Magallon, Jose Magallon, all of Amory and Jesse Magallon of Fort Polk, La.; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Julian, Alex, Sophia and Consuela Magallon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Billy Burrough.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie and Randy Smith, Ronnie and Eric Otts, Dusty Sandlin and Tracy Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Gosa, Michael Cox and Randy Otts.

Edward Smith
HOUSTON – Edward Eugene Smith, 70, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at his home. He was born May 20, 1942, in Van Vleet to Woodrow and Pauline Smith. He worked as a farmer and mechanic until he became disabled.
The family would like to recognize the kindness and diligence of his Gentiva Hospice nurses, Carol and Gail.
Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Southern Funeral Chapel with Bro. Johnny Cherry officiating. Burial is in Concord Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Carol Smith; seven children, Edward Smith Jr., Frankie Smith, Angel Smith, Bridget Fulgham, Timothy Fulgham, Carol Ann Grimes and Jimmy Gowens, all of Houston; three brothers, Wilson Smith and Donald Smith of Houston and Jack Smith of Money; and his grandchildren: Joseph Varela, Jose Varela Jr., Aubri Pauline Smith, Brandon Eugene Cook, Jimmy Bell, Minnie Fulgham, M’Cailea Jackson, Macie Britt, Glen Britt, Matthew Britt, Hank Smith, Frankie Smith Jr., Sean Smith and Deanna Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Pauline Smith; and two brothers, Charles and Alan Smith.
Pallbearers are Doyle Criddle, William White, Eddie Bynum, Norman Nabors, James Grimes and Willie Bean.

Chester Henderson
PONTOTOC – Chester V. Henderson “Bud”, 76, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center of Pontotoc. He was born on July 2, 1936 to Chester Wilton and Lera Henderson, in Pontotoc County. He married Elsie Montgomery on Jan. 4, 2002. He was a Christian and a member of Camp Ground Methodist Church. He worked as head maintenance at Sterling in Little Rock, Ark. He loved his family, riding his four-wheeler, gardening, working in the yard and hunting with his wife.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Galloway and Bro. Don McCain officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Ground Cemetery of Pontotoc.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Montgomery Henderson; four sons, William Henderson of Guntown, David Henderson (Pam) of Nettleton, Alvin Simpson (Lisa) of Pontotoc and Jerry Simpson of Tupelo; three daughters, Brenda Lanham (Michael) of Roland, Ark., Linda Henderson (Jimmy) of Eupora and Jimmie Lee Moorman of Pontotoc; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Roselee Brooks (James) of Saltillo; four brothers, Allen Henderson of Mountain Home, Ark., Louis Henderson (Joyce) of Scott, Ark., Aubrey Henderson of Pontotoc and Lester “Benny” Henderson (Bert) of Little Rock, Ark.; and host of nieces and nephews.
He preceded in death by his parents; and first wife, Betty Henderson, the mother of William, Brenda, Linda and David.
Pallbearers to serve will be Dave Henderson, Michael Raley, Joseph Benson, Drew Cornelius, Willie Henderson, Ronald Benson and James (Trey) Duvall. Honorary pallbearer to serve will be Josh Simpson.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home of Pontotoc.

CENTER POINT, Ala. – Linda Boren Hurley, 59, died on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at St. Vincent’s East, Birmingham.

SOUTHAVEN – Mary Grace McCown Childers, 81, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at her home. She was born Oct. 6, 1931, to Ellis Arnold and Ruby Childers McCown in Tippah County. She was a home maker, a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at McBride Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Baker officiating. Interment is at Tippah Memorial Garden.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Edward Childers of Southaven; daughter, Carol Childers Morgan of Southaven; grandchildren, Christina Grace Scott (Jay) of Memphis, Tenn. and Stevie Morgan of Southaven; sisters, Marie Huddleston, Bonnie Gibson (James Allen), Patsy Heavener, all of Ripley and Shelby Jean Morton of Blue Mountain; and brother-in-law, Alvie Jones of Memphis, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Dorothy Jones.

Danny Aters
TREMONT – Danny Ray “Goose” Aters, 47, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born March 17, 1966, to Arthur William Aters and Lillie Rose Aters. He was an avid Florida Gator’s football fan, enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends.
Service is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Steven officiating. Burial is at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Wigginton Aters of Tremont; daughter, Kaitlin Aters of Tremont; son, Kenny “Boone” Aters of Tremont; two brothers, Charles Aters of Red Bay, Ala., and Keith (Charity) Aters of Tremont; brother and sister-in-law, James (Marsha) Risner of Tremont; three nephews, Stewart Risner of Tremont, Nick Risner of Tremont and Brian Risner of Tremont; six nieces, Karolyn-Marie Aters of Tremont, Brittney Aters of Tremont, Michelle Risner of Tremont, Miley Risner of Tremont, Missy Kent of Tremont and C.J. SHERMAN – Charles Wayne Gaines, 76, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born April 20, 1936. He was a former maintenance man. He resided at Magnolia Manor of Tupelo.
