BALDWYN – Hinton Pippins, 92, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Nov. 2, 1920, to Ebenezer and Carrie Elkins Pippins in Lee County. He was united in holy wedlock to Clytee Copeland Pippins. He worked at various places and his last jobs were with Baldwyn Chevrolet Dealership and Turner’s Big Star. He was a member of Mt. Nebo C.M.E. Church in Baldwyn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mt. Nebo C.M.E. Church with the Rev. Johnathan Bass officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Agnew and Sons Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; five sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include his son, Tyrone (Lillian) Pippins of Baldwyn; one brother, Henry A. (Earnestine) Pippins of Baldwyn; one sister, Alice J. (Robert) Anderson of Baldwyn; sister-in-law, Evelyn Bender; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. and family hour is 5 to 6 p.m. today.

TUPELO – Ruby Earnestine “Tina” Burcham, 82, went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 10, 2013, at her home in Tupelo. She was born Oct. 20, 1930, to Ruby and Clemmie Dyer of Smithville and was married to Curtis Lamar Burcham for 56 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tupelo and active member of “The Faithful Followers Sunday School Class”. She was a retired office manager, full time homemaker and Hospice volunteer. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling and collecting dolls.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Ted Burcham and the Rev. Dave Jenson officiating. Burial will be in Pratt Cemetery.
She is survived by three children, Donna Bryson (Jimmy) of Eads, Tenn., Sheila Burcham of Tupelo and Curtis M. Burcham (Nina) of Baldwin; one brother, John Dyer (Jan) of Tremont; five grandchildren, Brad Bryson (Shirley) Suzanne Holloway, Shannon Story (Patrick), Nicole Townsend (Deric) and Kristi Hall (Jonathan); 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; multiple nieces and nephews; and her special caregiver, Shirley Bryson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, William “Bill” Dyer; two sisters, Joyce Holland and Ayenell Dyer; and one grandson, Craig Bryson.
Pallbearers will be Dennis, Craig, Curtis and Austin Bryson, Steve Dyer and David Burcham.

VARDAMAN – Peggy Inmon Griffin, 88, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at her residence. She was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Vardaman. She was a retired postal clerk and also the seamstress and owner of Linen-N-Lace. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Midway Baptist Church with Bro. Fred Hartley officiating and Bro. Don Wilson assisting. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery in Vardaman. Parker Memorial Funeral Homes, Inc., is in charge of arragements.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy G Moore (Paul, Jr.) of Calhoun City; one son, Norman W. Griffin (Melissa) of Vardaman; three sisters, Lucille Bailey of Vardaman, Betty Sue Inmon of Kenner, La., and Norma Faulkner of Houston; one brother, Bobby Inmon (Suzanne) of Vardaman; five grandchildren, Norman Griffin Jr. (Donna), Tabb Griffin, Tim Griffin (Nancy), Chip Moore (Mandy) and Emily Moore Parker (Benji); nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman E. and Violet L. Morgan Inmon; and her husband, H. Wilton Griffin.
Pallbearers will be, Norman Griffin Jr., Tabb Griffin, Tim Griffin, John Michael Harmon, Chip Moore, Raymond Harold Morgan and Benji Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren, Carol Sue Bailey, Charli Easterly, Dixie Easterly, Susan George, Witney George, Caleb Griffin, Hannah Griffin, Jake Griffin, Josh Griffin, Drake Moore, Jack Rivers Moore, Mary Hasting Parker, Leigh Ann Springer, Sherrie Gail Springer, Annabella Valdez, Isabella Valdez and Sherrie Valdez.

IUKA – Martha Ann Belue, 78, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at Tishomingo Community Living Center.
Services are noon Friday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Interment will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery.

ABERDEEN – Whitman Hill Lenoir, 83, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Care Center of Aberdeen. He was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Aberdeen, to Sterling Payne Lenoir and Emma Mangum Lenoir. He lived most of his life in Aberdeen but moved to Starkville, for eight years in 2000. He was a fourth-generation owner and farmer of the family-owned Lenoir Plantation in Prairie. He attended Mississippi State University and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an avid duck hunter and golfer and was a life member of Ducks Unlimited. He and his wife loved their MSU Bulldogs and were season ticket holders to all sports. He served on the Board of Directors for Four County Electric Association for many years and served as School Board President for the Aberdeen School System during the 1960s. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Aberdeen and served faithfully on many different committees over the years.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Whit Lewis and Bro. Truman Thompson officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by two daughters, Sally Lenoir Scott (Bob) of Aberdeen and Betsy Lenoir Lewis (Howard) of Kosciusko; four grandchildren, LeLe Newell, Stephanie Thompson, Whit Lewis and Griffin Lewis; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter Sanders, Scotty Waits, Karsen Sanders and Liam Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his loving sife fo 61 years, Bettye Hudson Lenoir; his brother, Sterling Payne Lenoir; and his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Aberdeen or the Alzhiemer’s Association.

WOODLAND – John Lee “Dogg” Wofford Jr., 59, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, on Highway 15 in Woodland. He was born Oct. 20, 1956, to Jerlene Valliant Wofford and John Lee Wofford. He received his education from Woodland Schools. He was a factory worker.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Calahan M.B. Church with the Rev. Henry Lee Brounlee officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Williams Memorial of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Jerlene Wofford of Woodland; daughters, Judy Gray (Tavarester) and Kwonika Wofford, all of West Point; son, Roger Pratt of Woodland; sisters, Diane Daniels of Missouri, Faye Clay (Leonard) of Woodland, Deniece Doss of Mantee, June Carol of Michigan, Suzette Ezell of Vardaman, Florence Ezell of Vardaman; brothers, James Wofford (Fannie) of Woodland, Thomas Wofford (Ludean) of Woodland and Daryl Wofford (Cheryl) of Woodland; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Lee Wofford, and a sister, Linda Carter.
TUPELO – Cozette Cryder, 96, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at his residence. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by W.E. Pegues.
OKOLONA – Johnnie Rigdon Hollimon, 88, longtime Okolona resident, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Bedford Health Care Center in Meridian, where she had resided the last year.
Services are tentatively set for Wednesday, May 15, 2013 pending arrival of out of state family. Holland Funeral Directors-Okolona Chapel is entrusted with all arrangements.
