COLUMBUS – Velina Gann died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
TUPELO – Lisa Shouse Palladino, 47, died Monday, May 10, 2010, at the home of her sister after a long illness. She was born Nov. 29, 1962, in Lexington, Ky., to Charles D. Shouse and Mary Elizabeth O’Bryan Shouse. She married David Palladino in Lexington on May 28, 1988. She was a loving wife and mother and was devoted to her family and friends. She dedicated her life to the care of children and worked as a pre-school teacher at First United Methodist Church for many years. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, where she had been a member of the choir, CCD teacher and nursery coordinator.
Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Tom Lalor and Father Henry Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Gardens. Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church with a prayer service at 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include her husband, David Palladino; two sons, Nolan and Andrew, and daughter, Lauren, all of the home; sisters, Susan Johnson (Billy) of Tupelo, Janet Ray (Jerry) of Lexington, Ky., Leah Ann Kokinda (Joe) of Richmond, Ky.; brothers, David Shouse (Melanie) of Lexington, Ky., and Michael Shouse (Pam) of Mt. Sterling, Ky.; nieces, Allison Johnson of Tupelo, Melanie Henderson (Brian) of Gulf Shores, Rosie Kokinda of Richmond, Ky.; nephews, Bryan M. Johnson (Julie) of Birmingham, Ala., Jeb Shouse of Lexington, Ky., and Andy Kokinda of Richmond, Ky.; and one great-nephew, Wren Henry Emory-Johnson of Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, Benjamin Patrick.
Pallbearers are Billy Johnson, Bryan Johnson, Joe Kokinda, Jerry Ray, Ricky Steinman and Greg Weatherford. Honorary pallbearers are the THS Cross Country Team and the Knights of Columbus from St. James.

BOONEVILLE – Judy K. Hood, 47, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at her home in Booneville after a long illness. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Booneville Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
TUPELO – John Travis Webb, 83, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at his residence. He was born and raised in Huntington, Tenn. He moved to Tupelo in 1973 as owner and operator of Tupelo Nissan and soon after, Tupelo Mitsubishi. He retired after 50 years in the automobile industry. He was instrumental in organizing the Tupelo Automobile Dealers Association in the mid-1970s. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving where with honor on the USS General John Pope. He enjoyed boating, hunting, gardening, and spending time at Pickwick Lake with friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. at the Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery near Camden, Tenn.
Survivors include daughters, Wanda Webb Scott of Paris, Tenn., and Mary Ann Webb of Stone Mountain, Ga.; sons, Kenneth Webb (Christi) of Baldwyn, John Webb of Griffin, Ga., Joel Santello (Annette) of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; sister, Mazell Chandler (Verdell) of Memphis; brother, James Webb (Bonnie) of Huntington, Tenn.; special friends, V.M. Cleveland (Melanie) of Tupelo; grandchildren, Michael Scott, Marty Scott, Nikki Scott, Ken Webb Jr., Tommy Webb, Burton Webb, Trevor Webb, Savannah Webb, Angie Morris, Joella Santello and Jennedy Santello; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Della Cole Webb; sisters, Madelyn Smith, Marie O’Neal and Mildred Arrington Shaw; a brother, Seburn Webb; and a son-in-law, Mickey Scott.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Congressman Travis Childers, Jamie White, Andy West, Hank Hatley, Dr. David Cole, Carl Comer, Jerry Wilburn, Johnny Crane, Tommy Kline, Larry Homan, Charlie Miller, Robin Richereson, Gary Franks, Larry Montgomery and V.M. Cleveland.

NEW ALBANY – J.T. Rush, 77, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at his residence. He was born July 15, 1932, in Union County to Marion and Ordie Chunn Rush. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oxford.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at United Funeral Service Chapel in New Albany with Rev. Shannon Davis and Rev. Vic Garrison officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Evanee Rush of New Albany; three daughters, Vickie Sullivan, Ann Purvis (Mike) and Linda Jobe (Lester), all of New Albany; one son, John Rush (Theresa) of Ripley; two sisters, Othella Gaines of New Albany and Kathryn Finley (John) of Arlington, Tenn.; two brothers, Larry Rush (Bobbye) of Oxford and Milford Rush (Lynn) of Little Rock, Ark.; grandchildren, Joshua Sullivan (Peggy), Adam Sullivan, Ashley Purvis, Matt Purvis, Ben Hall, Whitney Hall, Andrew Jobe, Ashley Cox (Chris), Summer Gonzales (Erik), Krystal Keith, Justin Keith and Kellie Treadaway (Steve); great-grandchildren, Tristian Sullivan, Gracie Sullivan, Alana Keith, Caleb Keith, Anna Grace Teer, Cheyenne Keith and Charlie Kate Treadaway.

AURORA, Ill. – Wilma Doris Dillard Robbins, 73, formerly of Ecru, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at her home in Aurora, Ill., after an illness. She was born Oct. 10, 1936, in Ecru to George Washington Dillard and Gena Modine Gaines Dillard.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Bro. David Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Creek Cemetery.

RIPLEY – Mildred Dephen Green, 71, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at her residence. She was born on June 8, 1938, to Murry and Elsie Smith Barnes. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Peoples Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Frances Leopard (Laverne) of Potts Camp and Maxine Frazier of Blue Mountain; four sons, Steve Brock of Hickory Flat, Ricky Brock (Rose) of Hickory Flat, Clayton Green (Karol) of Ripley and Coyte Green (Sandra) of New Orleans; one sister, Maydeen Evans of Hickory Flat; three brothers, Robert Barnes of Ripley, Dayton “Bill” Barnes of Oxford and Allan McCollum of New Albany; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Gay Barnes; and her parents.

BOONEVILLE – Mary Jane Hicks Jones, 66, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a retired assistant school teacher in the Prentiss County School System and was of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed horseback riding, dancing, and working with her computer.

She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Lynn “Becky” Jones of Lexington, Ala.; one brother, Jimmy Clyde (Tina) Hicks of Booneville; one granddaughter, Brooke Creech (Kerry Parker) of Corinth; one great-granddaughter, Jazmine Curtis; nephew, J. (Danielle) Hicks; niece, Bonna (Isaac) Hardy; and a great-niece, Rayne Hicks.

FULTON – Ricky Dale Graham, 52, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at his home in the Fairview community. He was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church. He had been living in the Silver Lake, Wis., area before moving back to Fairview two years ago. He was a bricklayer before becoming disabled. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. today at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton.
Survivors include his father, John Graham of Fairview; his mother, Buford Lesley Bennett of Tremont; three brothers, Wesley Graham (Kim) of Fulton, Thomas Graham and Karen of Dorsey, and Benji Graham (Rhonda) of Ozark; two sisters, Cathy Bennett of Tremont and Bobbie Pounds of Verona; a special aunt, Wilma “Kate” Graham of Fulton; several nieces and nephews.

OKOLONA – J.C. Buchanan, 80, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the DCH Noland Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He was born Jan. 28, 1930, to Tommie Lee Buchanan and Rosie Lee Dopson Buchanan. He was a member of New Zion Church, and a former employee of Burris Manufacturing and Oakland. He enjoyed providing taxi service to the Town of Okolona.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Okolona. The Rev. Odell Bowen will officiate. Burial will be in the New Zion Cemetery. Williams Memorial Funeral Home of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.
