Mary Herring
NETTLETON – Mary Jo “Mama Jo” Herring, 82, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born March 28, 1931, in Lee County, to Charles and Mae Weaver. She was a resident of Nettleton for many years but lived at Rosewood for the past year. She was a homemaker and retired from H.I.S. Company. She was a member of Verona Church of Christ. She loved to travel and enjoyed reading.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Wayne Cox and Minister Jimmy Bates officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include two daughters, Kaye Gibson (Bennie) and Judy Lee (Steve), all of Nettleton; two sons, David Herring (Debbie) of Southaven and Sam Herring (Patty) of Tupelo; five sisters, Charlene Kuykendall (Robert) of Amory, Nita Tucker of Baldwin, Anne Lettieri of Verona, Jan Gaugh of Pensacola, Fla., and Sandra Simmons (James) of Tupelo; two brothers, Charles “Chuck” Weaver (Martha) of Jacksonville, Fla., and John Weaver (Linda) of Nettleton; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Garner (Brad), Chris Herring (Bridgett), Amy Vanlandingham (Brad), Daniel Lee (Tiffany), Justin Gibson (Laura), Kara Bane (Scott) and John David Herring; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Bose Herring; and her siblings, Nell Faulkner, Doyle Weaver, Robert Weaver, Billy Weaver and Sue Reagan.
Pallbearers will be her grandson and her great-grandson, Jake Herring and Brandon Herring. Honorary pallbearers will be George Wills and Bobby Goff.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today.

John Wofford Jr.
WOODLAND – John Lee “Dogg” Wofford Jr., 56, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, on Highway 15 in Woodland.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Calahan M.B. Church. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Williams Memorial of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.

Tommy Johnson
CORINTH – Tommy F. Johnson Sr. died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at his residence. He was born Jan. 6, 1940, in Corinth to Elmer and Ilia Johnson. He was a retired auto repair and service station owner.
No services are planned. Memorial Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Johnson of Corinth; sons, Tommy (Jennifer) Johnson Jr. of Corinth, Brain Johnson and Brent Johnson, both of Maine; stepdaughter, Darcy Decerse of Tupelo; brother, Eugene Johnson of Corinth; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Jerry (Phyllis) Burns of Tupelo, Joe (Rosita) of Maine, Daisy Johnson of Corinth, Laveina Small of Ark., and Kathi Mann of Tupelo; and stepfather, Eddie (Paula) Forys of Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother J.B. Johnson.

James Pulliam
TUPELO – James Howard Pulliam, 76, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at his home. He was the owner of the Limousine Connection.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Joliet Chapel M.B. Church with the Rev. Terry Garrett officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery. Beasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela M. Pulliam of Tupelo; six daughters, Delisha Pulliam, Phaiena Bean, Toshima Pulliam, Yashmine Bean, all of Tupelo, Tiffany Pulliam and Monique Pulliam both of California; four sons, Donnell Pulliam of Ill., Lance Pulliam, Kevin Pulliam and Chris Pulliam, all of California; one sister, Barbie Starks (Willie) of Houston; one brother, Willie (Mary) of Tupelo; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today at Good News Church and will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Cozette Cryder
TUPELO – Cozette Cryder, 96, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at his residence. He was born Feb. 26, 1917, in Lee County, to Ed and Minnie Bell Haas Cryder. In his early life, he was a carpenter and the skills he learned stayed with him througout his life. He retired after many years of service from B&B Concrete. An U.S. Army Veteran, he served in the European Theatre with campaigns in Northern France, Ardenes, Rhineland and Cenral Europe during World War II and was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a member of Tupelo Free Will Baptist Church for many years.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with the Rev. Terry Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, James Ray Cryder of Baldwyn; one granddaughter, Cathy Cryder (fiance, Tommy Morris) of Tupelo; and three great-grandchildren, Cayla and Caidyn Cryder and Christan Holman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Erma Cryder, who died Oct. 15, 2007.
Pallbearers will be Robert Post, Scott, Greg and Carey Cryder, Joe Raper and David Haas. Phillip Long will serve as the honorary pallbearer.
Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

EUPORA – William Thomas Rushing, 57, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
Services are at 3 p.m. today at Victory by Faith Ministries in Eupora. Burial will follow in New Long Branch Cemetery. Wise Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
