RANDOLPH – Vernon Keith Mooneyham, 74, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Sunshine Nursing Home in Pontotoc. He was born June 14, 1939, in Buckhorn. He was a retired county worker and a member of Buckhorn Church of Christ.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by three daughters, Cindy Collier, Monica Boyd and Hyla Wilson, all of Pontotoc; one son, Billy K. Mooneyham of Pontotoc; three sisters, Louise Miller, Bonnie Sue Ferguson and Carolyn Grey, all of Pontotoc; 12 grandchildren, Alexandria Mooneyham, Austin Mooneyham, Ashley Mooneyham, Joshua Mooneyham, Caleb Mooneyham, Tyler Mooneyham, Megan Mooneyham, Daniel Robinson, Amanda Robinson, Ben Wilson, Harlee Wilson and Karye Barton; five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Lee Mooneyham and Lula Austin Mooneyham; two brothers, David Mooneyham and Wayne Mooneyham; and a sister, Helen Holley.

MYRTLE – Mary Etta Cobb Simmons, 88, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Union County Health and Rehab in New Albany. She was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Ingomar to Henry Anderson and Mary Elizabeth Gement Cobb. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Myrtle. She loved her church family and lived a testimony of her faith in Christ through the selfless love she so freely bestowed on anyone she met. Her friends were priceless to her, especially her friends at Traceway Manor where she resided for six and a half years. She considered her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the most precious gifts that our heavenly Father gave her.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at United Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Schuman and Dr. John Snyder officiating. Burial will be at Gerizim Cemetery in Myrtle.
She is survived by two sons, Danny Simmons (Ruby) and Charlie Simmons (Glenda); two daughters, Brenda Russell (Chuck) and Sandy Carwile (David); seven grandchildren, Eric Simmons, Marc Simmons, Tracy Simmons, Amy Jeter (Chad), Aaron Nanney (Andi), Ginger Burns (Brandon) and Beth Kizer (Matt); and seven great-grandchildren, Anna Jeter, Lily Jeter, Jenna Simmons, Rusty Kizer, Kyle Kizer, Everett Burns and Preslee Nanney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, James Dorsey Simmons; three brothers, Ernest, Troy, and James Cobb; and two sisters, Etoyle Willard and Dorothy Gray.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

WALNUT – William Wayne Moore, 76, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at his home in Tiplersville. He was born Aug. 11, 1936, to Van and Mae Renfro Moore. He was a member of Tiplersville Baptist Church. He retired from North Tippah Schools as a bus driver and from Shopezy Super Market. He was a lifelong Ole Miss fan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Bass and Bro. Thomas Magers II officiating. Burial will be in the Tiplersville Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Timmy Moore (Sabrina) of Walnut; one sister, Patty Moore of Tiplersville; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Moore; two grandchildren, Samantha Moore and Peyton Moore.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Faye Crum Moore; his parents; two sisters, Marie Free and Uda Moore; and one brother, Owen Moore.

RIPLEY – Donna Kay Pannell Jeter, 66, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at her residence in Ripley. She was born Jan. 31, 1947, to James Grady and Dorothy Mae Joshlin Pannell. She was a Baptist and a retired employee of Red Kap. She was a member of Mitchell Fire Department.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Doc Shelton and Bro. Terry Vuncannon officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Sammy Jeter of Ripley; one daughter, Samantha Clark (Ricky Joe) of Ripley; three sons, Jason Jeter (Jessica), Ryan Jeter (Tonya) and Randy Vick (Lisa), all of Ripley; one sister-in-law, Kathy Luna (Eddie) of Ripley; eight grandchildren, Ginia Rolison, Shannon, Gavin, Remy and Reed Jeter, and Brandon, Hunter and Caylee Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Paula Pannell Forsythe.

Johnnie M. Tomason
NETTLETON – Johnnie M. Tomason, 76, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at her residence. She was born in Plantersville on Sept. 24, 1936, to Relder and Louise Bacon Scribner. She was a high school graduate. She was employed 30-plus years before retirement with Super Sagless as a personnel operator. She enjoyed traveling all over the country, but when she returned home, her life centered on her grandchildren.
Services are incomplete and will be announced at a later date. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her only son, Bill Tomason (Charline) of Amory; her two granddaughters, Brandy Lane of Amory and Leslie Elam (Justin) of Nettleton; five great-grandchildren, Kane Sparks, Xavier and Maggi Lane, Alyssa and Alexis White; three brothers, Pete (Linda), Donnie (Edie) and Jerry Scribner (Connie).

IUKA – Lloyd F. Murrah, 71, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a member of Iuka Baptist Church. He was formerly employed at the Iuka Guaranty Bank and was later the owner and operator of Murrah Building Supply and The Prop Shop. He enjoyed antique cars, traveling, hiking, running and helping others.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Iuka Baptist Church. Bro. Gary Watkins will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Hardwick Murrah of Iuka; one daughter, Melisa Little (Wes) of Hueytown, Ala.; one son, Casey Murrah (Joy) of Corinth; three sisters, Libby Hamm (Norman) of Tuscumbia, Ala., Nellie Counce (Charlie) of Corinth and Marcia Murrah of Lynn Haven, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Braxton Little, Brennen Little, Ashton Murrah and John Ellis Murrah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Marcelle Cox Murrah, and LaVelle Murrah; and a brother, Alvis Murrah.
Pallbearers include Ellet Allen, Don Herrington, Dewitt Bean, Hoyt Peden, George Womble, Art Gaines and Frankie Murphy. Honorary pallbearers will be the Iuka Baptist Church Men’s II Sunday School Class.

Carl W. Young
TUSCUMBIA, Ala. – Carl Willard Young, 92, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at his residence in Tuscumbia, Ala., after a lingering illness. Mr. Young was born in the Brewer community of Lee County on Feb. 7, 1921, to Orie Lee Young and Okla Sutphin Young. He grew up in Brewer and attended the public schools there. He answered the call to serve his country during World War II, serving in the 1st Calvary Division of the U.S. Army. Three years, three months and two days later, he received an honorable discharge and returned to his native Lee County, where he was employed by Reed’s Manufacturing. In 1958, he and his family moved to the Tuscumbia, Ala., area where he became affiliated with Young Welding Supply Co. in Sheffield, where he retired many years later as a master salesman. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia where he served on the House and Grounds Committee. He was an avid conversationalist, enjoyed visits with friends and family, and was a woodworker, specializing in building doll beds for his family and the area children.
A service celebrating his life with military honors was held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Barrett Long officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Itawamba County.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Hill Young of Tuscumbia, whom he married July 13, 1946; a daughter and his primary caregiver, Janice Young Cross (John) of Decatur, Ala.; a son, Carl F. Young of Alcoa, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Daniel Cross, U.S. Navy, Andrew Cross, U.S. Marines, Courtney Young Bailey (Josh) and Amanda Young Davis (Robert); great-granddaughter, Alevia Davis; his sister, Nettie Phillips Stone of Palmetto; a special nephew, Robert “Buddy” Young Sr. of the Brewer Community; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; an honorary daughter, Susan Bernard. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Vora B. Young, Milton Lee Young, Dewdrop Murphy, Sam Young and an infant.
Pallbearers were Mark Meredith, John Cross, Neal Dorroh Jr. Lewis Frazier III, Luther Frazier and Bobby Young.

TISHOMINGO – Billy Gene Page, 79, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his residence. He was born Aug. 24, 1933, in Tishomingo. He had worked at Consolidated Aluminum in Iuka. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and served on the Tishomingo County School Board, 1977-1983.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont with Jim Neville and John Williams officiating. Burial will be in Tishomingo Cemetery at Tishomingo. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Carol Page of Tishomingo; two sons, Billy A. Page (Lisa) of Tuscumbia, Ala., and Bobby Page (Marsha) of Tishomingo; three grandchildren, Michael, Laken and Jeremy Page; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Breanna, Cash, Briley and Lilly; and one sister, Helen Baker of Booneville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin Martin Page and Lila Smith Page; a grandson, Robert Page; a brother, Harold Page; and a sister, Virginia Rose Riddle.

BELMONT – Marilyn Brosious Crane, 52, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at UAB in Birmingham, Ala. She was born Nov. 4, 1960, in Booneville. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Belmont.

FULTON – Karl T. Weyhrauch, 84, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. He was born May 10, 1929, to Henry and Irene Reichart Weyhrauch. He worked at Texas Steel in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a minister for 36 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Marine Corps.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Gene Harrison and Bro. Melvin Harrison officiating. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Weyhrauch; three sons, Thomas Weyhrauch of Tupelo, Tim Weyrrauch (Dawn) of Booneville and Karl Weyhrauch Jr. (Julia) of Racine, Wis.; three daughters, Tammy Harrison (Gene) of Ripley, and Susan, and Julie; eight grandchildren, Johnny, Matthew, Brandi, Nathan, Zane, Karl III, Jeremy and Joseph; nine great-grandchildren.

GULF BREEZE, Fla. – Emma Holmes Ware passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, after a brief illness. She was born in Amory on Aug. 14, 1931, to Jane and Edward Holmes. She graduated from Tupelo High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Blue Mountain College. She was a homemaker at the time of her death. She worked for the federal government for 25 years. During her tenure with Social Security she received many awards. She was one of the five women nationwide who were recognized as “Women on the move.” She supported many charities, along with donations to Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member. She was loved by many people who will remember and miss her.
She is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Ware, Jr.; sisters, Dolores Burton and Eddie Jean Holmes; her sister-in-law, Carolyn (Dave) Benson; niece, Carla (Tom) March; nephews, Mike (Laurie) Burton and Ed (Julie) Burton; extended family, Casey and Vicky Jones, Jay and Mary Boyd Click, David and Diane Caper; and special family friends, Mary Jean Miller, Jayne Neal, and Samuel and Nita Lee.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jerry Blacklaw officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service.
