Christopher Gibbs
RIPLEY – Christopher Bernard “Chuck” Gibbs, 53, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Oct. 10, 1959, to Frankie Clemmer and Charlie Clemmer. He was a member of St. James Temple Church of God in Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He earned an associate degree in mathematics at Temple University. He was an employee of Ashley Furniture Mfg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Church of God in Christ in Ripley. Supt. Bernell Hoyle will officiate. Burial will be in St. Rest Cemetery in Ripley. Foster and Son Funeral Home of Ripley is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his mother, Missionary Frankie Clemmer; a sister, Stephanie (Timothy) Penro; a daughter, Annie Clarie Roberts; a nephew, Timothy Landis Penro II; two nieces, Faith Gibbs Penro and Grace Harding Penro; a godsister, Melinda Evans; and a special friend, Beatrice Cook.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Clemmer; his grandparents, Frank and Lucille Gibbs, Rev. A.J. Mosley and Lizzie Mosley.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today with the family hour from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to service time.

James Smith
HAMILTON – James Wilson Smith, 77, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was a member Bethlehem M.B. Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Valley Chapel United Methodist Church in Hamilton. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery in Hamilton. Belle Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge.
He is survived by his wife Peggy A. Smith; six sons, Cecil (Tracey) Smith of Amory, Joseph (Bessie) Smith, Jacob (Myra) Smith, Jimmy (Veronica) Smith, Gregory Smith and Raymond Earl Smith, all of Hamilton; four daughters, Gloria Garth Betts of Amory, Earnestine (Bernard) Walker and Bettie (Charles) Wyatt of Wren, and Gloria Jean Harris of Columbus; one sister, Mae Ola Troupe of Hamilton; 35 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Annette Harris
NEW ALBANY – Annette Stephens Harris, 57, died Monday, May 27, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Ripley. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Serenity-Simmons Funeral Home in New Albany.

Prebble Jones
FULTON – Prebble L. McKee Jones, 95, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at The Meadows in Fulton. She was born May 20, 1918, in Itawamba County to Andrew and Evelyn Stockton McKee. She was a member of East Fulton Baptist Church. She owned and operated three restaurants in Fulton throughout her lifetime. Following her restaurant career, she worked in a factory in Smithville. She then found her most gratifying employment at the Itawamba County Hospital, where she worked as a nurse’s aide until her retirement after 20 years of service.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Senter Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton. Bro. J.C. Enlow will officiate. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Garden. Senter Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by a son, Bob (Sue) Jones of Memphis; a grandson, Larry Jones of Conway, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey Jones; six brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Senter Funeral Home.

Emogene Green
CAIRO – Emogene Williams Green, 85, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013, at her residence. She was born on July 25, 1927, to Oliver and Ora Williams. She was a member of New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Don Green and Bro. Jack Whitley Jr. officiating. Burial will be in New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home of Booneville is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda (Tommy) Shields of Booneville, Carolyn (Ronnie) McCombs of Burton, Kay (Tony) Lowrey of Burton and Regenia (Dennis) Brown of Cairo; one son, Dr. Jeffrey Green of Memphis; nine grandchildren, Jamie (Alicia) Shields, Johnny (LaVaile) Shields, Danielle (Robbie) King, Carlena (Burton) Benjamin, Jay (Mary Beth) Lowrey, Brandon Lowrey, Amanda (Paul) Comer, Will Green and Sam Green; 10 great-grandchildren, Ali Beth Shields, John Rylan Shields, Channing Barkley, Logan Barkley, Alex King, Max King, Tate King, Lily Benjamin, Lola Benjamin and Elizabeth (Khurram) Moghal; and special caregivers, Debra Smith, Kim Overby, Naomi Anderson, Cheryl Moss, JoAnn Jowers and Brenda Brimingham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Green; her parents; and three brothers, W.C., Junior and Hershel Williams.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at New Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church.

Pauline Stennett
BOONEVILLE – Pauline Walden Stennett, 91, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Aug. 18, 1921, to Clifton S. Walden and Arilla Barker Walden. She was a member of Booneville First Baptist Church, the Friendship Sunday School Class and the Joymakers Senior Adult Group. She was retired from the Peoples Bank and Trust Co.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McMillan Funeral Home with Dr. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Stennett (Missy) of Tupelo and Ricky Stennett (Kristen) of Huntsville, Ala.; one brother, Nolan Walden of LaPlace, La.; one sister, Alice Arnold of Baldwyn; five grandchildren, Courtney Tharp (Jimmy), Cooper Stennett (Jessica), Reid Stennett, Ben Stennett and Bethany Stennett; two great-grandchildren, Ivy Kate Tharp and Charli Stennett; and two sisters-in-law, Rebel Gamble (Charles) and Maydean Crowe (Myrl).
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur Stennett; her parents; and one brother, J.T. Walden.
Honorary pallbearers will be her Friendship Sunday School Class.

Raymond Bullard
IUKA – Raymond Bullard, 85, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was a member of Patrick United Methodist Church. He was a retired coal miner and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He enjoyed being outdoors.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Patrick United Methodist Church. The Rev. Doc Dollar will officiate. Burial will be in Patrick Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by one brother, Charles Bullard of Iuka; two nephews, Bill Bullard (Cristi) of Bartlett, Tenn., and Robert Price of Raymer, Tenn.; and one niece, Pam Bullard of Bartlett, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Boone and Pat Bullard; his brother, Odell Bullard; and his sister, Ruby Price.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to service time Wednesday.

Allene Estes
MACEDONIA – Allene Priest Harris Estes, 87, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo after an extended illness. She was born on May 1, 1926, in Verona, the only child of Amon and Odis Yarborough Harris. She grew up in Verona and graduated from Verona High School. For more than 35 years, she was a seamstress for Blue Bell Manufacturing. She was a studious woman who enjoyed reading all kinds of books and literature and she was an avid NASCAR and golf enthusiast watching all the major races and tournaments on TV. Her mind was kept sharp through her strong interest in jigsaw, find a word and picture puzzles. She was a loyal follower of “American Idol” and “Dancing With the Stars” on TV. She was a longtime member of the Verona United Methodist Church.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Bobby Holland officiating. Private burial will be in the Harris family plot at Verona City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to service time Wednesday only. Holland-Tupelo Chapel is entrusted with all arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Long of Macedonia, with whom she lived the last 13 years; five grandchildren, Brian Long (Tina), Dewayne Collier, Susan Hicks (Jeff), Aleisha Kendall (John) and Monica Davis (Brandon); four great-grandchildren, Cade and Cody Long, Christopher Hicks and Michelle Dobbs; three great-great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Dallas and Ashlyn Grace; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Wilma Grace Alred, who died in January 1985.

AUSTIN, Texas – Kathleen L. Higgins, 94, formerly of West Point, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013, at Emeritus at Spicewood Springs Skilled Nursing Facility in Austin, Texas.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in West Point. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Jimmy Robinson
NETTLETON – Jimmy Lee Robinson, 71, died suddenly Monday, May 27, 2013, at The Care Center of Aberdeen. He was born on July 29, 1941, in Itawamba County to Paul Britton and Omie Mize Robinson. He had lived in Nettleton most of his life, but had resided in Aberdeen for the past 15 years. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed watching television and playing with his toys.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with the Rev. Keith Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park in Verona.
Survivors include one brother, Ken Robinson (Bettye) of Tupelo; five nieces, Christy Barron (Terry) of Tupelo, Kathy Giles (Chris) of Caledonia, Paul Estis (Amy), Shelly Brown (Dewayne) and Kelly Estis, all of Smithville; two nephews, Paul Estis (Amy) and B.J. Estis (Kim), all of Smithville; and a host of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Nellie Ruth Estis (Roy Lee).
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. today and will continue until time for services Wednesday.

Ronnie Michael
CORINTH – Ronnie Michael died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at his home. He was born in Hobbs, N.M., on April 3, 1951, to Vance and Bobbie Swinford Michael. He enjoyed deer hunting, country music, golf and collecting baseball cards. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys, Ole Miss, and Atlanta Braves fan. He was a carpenter by trade.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be at 2 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth. Burial will be in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Rienzi.
He is survived by two sons, Brian Michael and Bobby Smith, both of Cullman, Ala.; one daughter, Christy Ellis (Kevin) of Rienzi; two sisters, Sharon Michael and Karen Surratt, both of Corinth; the mother of his children, Kathy Loveless of Cullman, Ala.; four grandchildren, Darian, Dylan, Lauren and Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.

SHERMAN – Thomas M. Whitlow, 66, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Darlington Oaks in Verona. He was born July 25, 1946, in Pontotoc County. He was a member of Fairfield Presbyterian Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. David Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by a sister, Ernestine Reeves (Herbert); nieces, Tracy Whitlow and Della Wages; nephew, Billy Reeves; and cousins, Kathleen McCarty, Charles Whitlow and Faye Hamblin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Whitlow; his mother, Willie Mae Smith; two brothers, Kenneth Whitlow and Noel Whitlow.
Pallbearers will be Andy Perry, Kris Keith, Adam Reeves, Joey Hughes, Jimmy Boyd and Evan Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Reeves and Wayne Wages.

Malcolm Driver Sr.
OXFORD – Malcolm Wayne Driver Sr., 72, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in Greenwood. He was born July 24, 1941, to Cliff Wortham and Josephine Driver in Oxford. He grew up in Etta, where he joined Flint Hill M.B. Church at a young age. He moved to Chicago and later to Racine, Wis. In Racine, he married Dorothy Montgomery. They had two children, Josephine and Malcolm Jr. He returned to Etta, where he married Gloria Oneal. They had one child, Phyllis.
Services were Monday, May 27. The Rev. Lindsey Sanford Jr. officiated. Serenity-Martin Funeral Home of Oxford was in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Oneal Driver of Golshen, Ind.; three daughters, Phyllis Taylor Driver of Elkhart, Ind., Josephine Driver of Racine, Wis., and Loquanda Chavours of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Lenny Driver and Malcolm Driver Jr. of Etta; two stepdaughters, Debra Gordon and Rachael Branch, both of Memphis; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Inell driver Smith.

Ollie Cobb
PONTOTOC – Ollie Juanita Cobb died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Pontotoc Nursing Home. She was a member of Wallerville Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed yard work and cooking for her family.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with the Rev. Charlie Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Ingomar Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her two daughters, Ollie Fay Cobb Hale (Roy) and Julia Katherine Cobb Cooper; four grandchildren, Denece Graham (Dwayne), Cindy Owen (Ricky), Danny Hale (Glenda) and Regina Garrett (Mike); eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jodie Bailey and Corra Roxaner Bailey; her husband, Rush Harold Cobb; one sister, Lenora Haynie; two brothers, Forrest Bailey, Morris Bailey and Wallace Bailey; and a son-in-law, Carlton Cooper.
Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Graham, Jamie Graham, John Michael Garrett, Bo Garrett, Drew Garrett, Walker Hale and Mike Garrett.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday.
