BOONEVILLE – Hershel Sims, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Mills Community Baptist Church Cemetery in Alcorn County.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
GUNTOWN – Cole Petty, 18, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors in Saltillo.
WEST POINT – Shanda C. Perry, 30, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, in Chickasaw County.
Services are at noon Tuesday at Union Baptist Church. Burial is at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. at Carter’s Mortuary Chapel in West Point.
TISHOMINGO – Debbie Denice Whitehead, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at her residence.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Palestine Church in Paden. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home in Belmont is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will continue until service time at Palestine Church.
CORINTH – Gola Evone Miller Lancaster, 88, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012.
Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Magnolia Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
BOONEVILLE – Grover A. Lambert, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at his home. He was born Oct. 26, 1925, to Billy Fate and Mattie Johnson Lambert. He was a member of Jones Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He enjoyed squirrel hunting, cutting wood, working in his barn and activities with his grandsons.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Wright and Bro. Travis Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Jones Chapel Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Verdeen Smith Lambert; two daughters, Diane (David) Bearden and Joan (Tony) Bonds, both of Booneville; two grandsons, Starsky (Samantha) Bearden and Shane Bonds; and one great-granddaughter, Brianna Bearden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Beatrice Johnson, Bonnie Taylor, Donnie Jones and Ilene Bain; and three brothers, Mellaige Lambert, Tommy Fate Lambert and Jasper Lambert.
Pallbearers will be Starsky Bearden, Shane Bonds, Tony Bonds, Ricky Johnson, Sylvester Jones and Don Lambert.
Visitation is until service time today at the funeral home.

BRUCE – James “Jimmy” Goodson Kirby, 65, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at his residence. He was a retired lumber grader from Memphis Hardwood. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
Service is at 2 p.m. today at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Interment is at Bruce Cemetery.
He is survived by one sister, Mona Sue Kirby of Bruce; one brother, Michael Wayne Kirby of Bruce; one nephew, Michael Wayne Kirby II; one great-nephew, Tyler Wayne Kirby; and one great-niece, Lindsey Kirby.
He was preceded in death by his Parents: James D. and Annie Maxine Kirby.
Pallbearers are Mike Covington, Chick Hensley, Billy Keel, Chris Keel, Bill Malone and Ricky Simpson. Honorary pallbearers are Don Countiss, James Roy Haire, Don Keifer, Billy Lee, Ronnie Poteete and Bobby Simpson.
MANTACHIE – Leauve Guin , 77, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at her home in Mantachie.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
