TUPELO – Mildred Louise Bryson Irwin, 92, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Lee County on July 26, 1919, to William Brack and Clifford Harris Bryson. A lifelong resident of the community, she graduated from Guntown High School and Sunflower Junior College (now Mississippi Delta Community College) in Moorhead. She married her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert Vernon Irwin, on Feb. 19, 1948. Their marvelous years together were spent raising “her two boys,” traveling, and making wonderful memories to be cherished forever. She was engaged in the creative art of ceramics, and her pottery pieces continue to decorate the homes and offices of friends and family. She was a faithful member of Saltillo First United Methodist Church. A beloved and respected wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and woman of the church, her legacy of caring, compassion and concern for all will be long cherished and remembered.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 16, 2012, at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Green officiating. Private burial will be at Springhill Cemetery near Saltillo. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her children, Dr. Robert Bryson Irwin of Tupelo and William Mike Irwin (Jeanne) of Saltillo; three grandchildren, Kelly Irwin Senter (Joseph), Kevin Michael Irwin (Britney) and William Kyle Irwin; two great-grandchildren; a nephew, Jimmy Bingham; a niece, Patsy Lemmons; a very special great-niece, Lea Anne Lemmons; and her wonderful care givers: Nobie Jean Prather, Mary Billups, Donna Brunson and Tammy Holman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert V. Irwin; and her sisters: Pauline Agnew, Hazel Bryson and Jane Bingham.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Bingham, Ben Bingham, Joey Bingham, Kevin Irwin, Kyle Irwin and Joseph Senter.
Visitation will be 10 until 11 a.m. today at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Home.

Rev. Troy Little
PONTOTOC – The Rev. Troy N. Little, 82, died Friday, June 15, 2012, at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood. He was Baptist minister for 20 years. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Byram and a former member of Lakeview Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering with cars.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. The Rev. Herschel Bragg Sr. and the Rev. Mike Stancil will officiate. Burial will follow in Pontotoc Memorial Gardens in Pontotoc.
Survivors include his wife, Lovis N. Little; son, Steven W. Little; daughter, Elizabeth Little Owens; son-in-law, David Owens; five grandchildren, Ashley D. Brannon, Shelby N. Little, Zachery N. Little, Steven M. Little and Jared P. Little; sister, Margaret Ann Brewer; brother-in-law, Kennedh Hanks; four sisters-in-law, Margaret Little, Danny Little, Barbara Little and Eloise Little; several nieces and nephews; five stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ed Little, William Little, Herman Little, Travis Little and Arthur Little; four sisters, Johnnie Warren, Francis Little (Jimmy), Ruby Smitherman and Mary Hanks; and his parents, John and Ethel Little.
Pallbearers will be Larry Johnson, John David Warren, Kenneth Hanks, John Brewer, Jimmy Brewer and Brantley Puckett.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday.

HOLLY SPRINGS – Neddie Mae Bowens Lemons, 92, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab in Holly Springs.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will lie in repose at the funeral home from 1 to 1:55 p.m. Sunday.

HATLEY – Virginia Dorothy Harrison, 87, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at the Care Center of Aberdeen. Born March 29, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wis., she was a daughter of Peter and Anna Alice Mroz Pytlewski. A dog lover, she cherished the many she had over the years. She enjoyed visiting with friends and going to church. She was a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ.
A celebration of life service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Minister Marshall Eubanks Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include her goddaughters, JoAnn Boyer and Mary Ann Switlick, both of Milwaukee; sisters-in-law, Marcelle Harrison of Olive Branch, Mary Ellen Root of Milwaukee and Gay Torrey of Sarasota, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Harold Harrison; and her sister, Marie Switlick.
Pallbearers will be Donald W. Harrison, Mark Harrison, Spencer Harris, Greg Boyer, Ken Stratton and Brad Root. Honorary pallbearers will be the elders of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ.

JUDAH – Byrdnett Pettit, 88, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, in Tupelo. She was formerly employed at Riviera Shirt Factory. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her babies at home. She enjoyed gardening.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. C.C. Ritchie Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

MANTACHIE – Marie R. Roberts, 88, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis. She was born April 26, 1924, in Lee County to James Sullivan Ray and Mary Ellen Wilson Ray. She was a former resident of Itawamba County and had lived in Germantown, Tenn., for a number of years. She worked as a receptionist and PR for Ford Motor Co. and Caterpillar Tractor Co. She was a member of Balmoral Baptist Church in Memphis. She enjoyed ceramics and gardening and was known for growing beautiful flowers.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with the Rev. Royce Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.
Survivors include her twin brothers, Billy Delbert Ray of Memphis and Dr. Robert Gilbert Ray (Hilda) of Jasper, Ala.; and her sister, Alice Wilson (Herbert) of Germantown, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Frank Roberts, on Nov. 17, 1995; one brother, Jack Ray; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – Clifton Eugene Scott, 72, died Monday, June 11, 2012, in West Chicago, Ill. He made his living as a professional painter for more than 42 years, painting many homes and businesses throughout the West Chicago area. He had a special love for motorcycles, and he and his wife, Barb, spent many hours riding his Harley. He enjoyed camping, traveling and working outdoors, but his greatest love was his family. He was a great man who will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation for his Chicago area family and friends was held Wednesday, June 13. Locally, services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 231 State Hwy. 2 NE in Corinth. Private burial will follow at the family cemetery in the Pratt community near Baldwyn. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the church. Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years, Barb Esmond Scott; his daughters, Deanna Scott, Michelle (David Salinas) Scott and Denise Scott; two brothers, Roy Hue Scott and Eddie Scott, both of Baldwyn; two sisters, Johnnie Scott Howell of Rienzi and Mitzi Hachey of Collierville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Blondy and Blanche Barrett Scott; brother, Billy Joe Scott; and Janice Scott Smithson.
WEST POINT – Marilyn Grantham Osburn, 65, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at her home in West Point. She was born Aug. 6, 1946, in Kosciusko to Christine Conn Grantham and the late Bige Grantham. She was a secretary at Tom Soya Grain and a beautician. She attended Hope Baptist Church. She married Robert H. Osburn on Sept. 29, 2006, in Carrollton, Ala.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Barry Hathcock officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Robert H. “Bobby” Osburn of West Point; her mother, Christine Conn Grantham of Columbus; sister, Donna Frazure (Jerry) of Kosciusko; brother, Doug Grantham (Joyce) of Grand Saline, Texas; niece, Aly Hutchison (Blake) of West Point; nephew, Chase Frazure (Lindsey) of Columbus; great-niece, Kambree Frazure, and great-nephew Hayden Frazure of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, James L. “Jim Besco” Harrison Sr., on Aug. 18, 2002.

FULTON – Clisty Hellen Wheeler, 78, died Thursday, June 14, 2012. She was born on Sept. 12, 1933, to Wesley Curtis and Melvertie Webb Mattox in Itawamba County. She was a member of the Tilden Church of Christ and a retired nurse after 38. She loved her family.

HAMILTON – Debbie Ann Brewer Richardson, 53, died Friday, June 15, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born April 9, 1959, to James Edward Brewer and Evelyn Faye Smith Brewer in Monroe County. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County where she was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Aberdeen High School.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Bro. Robert Earl Fowlkes officiating. Burial will be in Camp Cemetery.

OXFORD – Eva Head Johnson, 101, died Friday, June 15, 2012, at her home in Oxford. Born on Dec. 1, 1910, she was the widow of Willie A. Johnson and a member of Oxford Church of Christ. She was employed for periods of time with Baker Dress shop in Oxford, Army Administration School at the University of Mississippi, Fisher Aircraft in Memphis and Chickasaw Ordinance Smokeless Powder Plant in Millington, Tenn. She was a retired secretary for the Navy ROTC at Ole Miss for 25 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed all kinds of sewing, flowers and vegetable gardening.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Minister Johnny Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She was survived by four stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, husband, stepdaughter and stepson.
