The Daily Journal's annual sponsorship of art exhibits from the Tupelo and Lee County public elementary schools concludes with Impressions, the show from the Lee County students at GumTree Museum of Art.
A reception from 1-3 p.m. Sunday celebrates their creativity and effort, guided by teachers and encouraged by parents and friends. Refreshments will be offered.
The visual arts allow students wide latitude for their imaginations, and the depth of their work often surprises even those who know them best.
Creativity, of course, is at the heart of good writing, still the lifeblood of newspapers and all other successful print journalism.
We congratulate the students and teachers. We appreciate the spirit of cooperation from the GumTree Museum staff and board and look forward to more exhibitions.
